Everybody who works there took a lot of time explaining the process to me and how my insurance would work. They even ran everything before my appointment so I would know what I would have to pay. I was able to get in with Parkway fir my sleep study months sooner than other options. My tech was great and explained everything she was doing and what to expect that night. I wondered if they would try to "sell me" on using their DME branch for my supplies but it wasn't mentioned. I decided to use them for my machine too because I had such a great experience. So far that decision hasn't disappointed. They got me in to pick up supplies very quickly and thoroughly explained my machine and maintenance when I went to pick it up. read more

This place is a F-in joke. Took forever to get a referral. The sleep study itself was great. Results? After almost a month of no feedback or results or a letter...I was told it would be a day or two after the sleep study....so I called in and left a message. A week later they leave a voice mail after hours that I needed to call in to do a virtual appointment. Fine, schedule it. A week later they set it up and I get no call. So I call in and they say the person is running behind, but I need to pay a copay. I ask why I am paying a copay for the results of the sleep study and the lady gets rude and goes on about how every time you go To the doctor you pay a copay. Well...maybe they should get a little better organized and start communicating or emailing with some information. Overall, don't go here...better options elsewhere. read more

I was referred here for a sleep study and I will say that the staff was very courteous and knowledgeable. However, I paid $410.66 for a sleep CAP (for sleep anea) machine never worked. Not only that but, it was very loud (could not fall asleep because of the noise) and I've actually had to go back to using my old CAP machine. Parkway SleepHealth did attempt to adjust the settings on the machine (first time was the pressure settings and the second time was the ramp) twice but, it didn't change anything. To top it off, I repeatedly asked Parkway SleepHealth Centers for a RESMed machine (that is the brand that I had been using for 12-years). They told me that they didn't have it and they also did not bring to my attention that a RESMed machine could be made available if I went on a waitlist. In a response to a complaint I filed with the Better Business Bureau dated 11/4/2022, Parkway Sleep Center wrote: "If we have something in stock, it is in our best interest to sell that product, not keep it here with us." - that line alone reveals a lot. Avoid if at all possible. My opinion is the business model is focused on insurance claims rather than client care. They do not return calls. Ever. Out of the blue supplies show up at my door. None of them are usable with my CPAP. I call them and leave a message. Three times. A bill shows up in the mail. I drive to the location and ask the supplies and bill and was told that I had fallen out of their system and they've re-added me so that's why I hadn't ever previously received supplies from them. So, for 10-ish years prior to this I should have been getting supplies? Prior to COVID I had been going to their office to pick them up. I'm told the new supplies are for the new CPAP (actually an APAP), which I don't have and I should set up an appointment to get it as they can no longer supply my old CPAP. Why are they sending supplies for a CPAP model they must know I don't have? They know I don't have it, right? I get the new CPAP and am given an instruction booklet on how to set it up. This new CPAP can connect to WIFI so I won't have to come to the office to have them read my chip! It's been years since they've read my old chip but okay, less driving for me. The WIFI password can be no longer than 15 characters as the CPAP cannot accept more than that. There's an APP but it doesn't work in the USA. I e-mail them about this issue. No response. At about the one month mark I get a voice mail stating they were unable to connect to my machine and if I could set up the WIFI or bring in the chip for reading that'd be great. I bring it in. Took 30 minutes to read the chip. At about the 3 month mark I bring the chip in to be read as the video appointment with the doctor is in 3 days. It took 5 minutes to read and I'm told it will be uploaded to my records. Guess which data was not available to the Nurse Practitioner for the video appointment? NP says she'll find out about the data and will check back with me. Nope. Throughout this I've received two more shipments of supplies. Other than the tubing from the CPAP to the mask, none of it is usable by me. The nasal pillows are not compatible with my head harness and no new head harness is present in the package. I need to drive into their office to swap it for something I can use. Next package has a different type of nasal pillows but these require a different part to connect to which I don't have and was not included in the package. Back to the office again. That tubing...it collects a lot of water. I call them, twice. No response. I go into their office and am told I need the heated tubing...you mean similar to the heated tubing I had been using with the old CPAP but you are now not sending me a version which works for the new CPAP you told me to get? I'm told it will arrive in the next box. Still waiting with dry nostrils. I've not actually paid for any of these supplies. I called them to ask if I have an outstanding balance. Left them a message... I will note that something has changed with this place. Ten or so years ago, when they were in a different building up the road, I had my sleep study and that seemed to be fine. Got my now old CPAP and slept better than ever before. Now...it's like pulling teeth to get anything from them and even when I think I've got it settled, by showing up in person, a new package arrives and makes me realize that no, no I don't. Very friendly staff and clean facility. Overall great experience and it was awesome that they had snacks and beverages available as well. Only thing I would recommend is that they let patients know about gel polish affecting the finger sensor so probably best to remove it, and that you will have sensors placed on your scalp that is very sticky so be prepared for that and how to remove it. read more

Very hands off patient experience. Physician interaction only during initial 15 minute consultation (not in sharing results, picking up sleep equipment, nor even calling after the initial days/weeks of therapy). (*I had at home sleep test not in office.) Only after 3 months of data collection will physician re-engage for a 15-minute check-in. In-office appointments consist of standing in waiting room talking only through a partition without any privacy (not held in patient rooms. Other patients sitting on office couch 5 feet away.). Patient Care Specialists (manning phones and front desk) do their best to wear multiple hats, holding down the office, and do so professionally and friendly. But with the practice influencing many big lifestyle changes, my referring doctor and I were very surprised and disappointed about the lack of engagement from a physician reviewing sleep results personally and the lack of a sit down experience upon machine receipt and overview. I'm relying on videos to help troubleshoot given brevity. All in all very transactional. (Cary location.) read more

Been coming here for a few years. Never felt warm and fuzzy about any of my experiences except for the initial sleep study. Arrived for a two o'clock appointment just to pick up a new CPAP machine. Was told it would only take 15 min. Was sent an electronic form to fill out all the information that I'm sure that they already have in the system. Had to submit insurance and ID cards online. Wasn't happy about that, but I thought it might be to speed up the process when I arrived. I'm still sitting here, it's 2:15. read more

I was kind of surprised to see the negative reviews for this place. My experience was very pleasant. My PCP initially referred me to Duke Raleigh Sleep Center and they were going to take 8 months! to get a sleep study. So he referred me here to Parkway Sleep and was able to get in the next week. My sleep study wasn't necessarily comfortable but primarily due to the wiring that's not comfortable and having to call a nurse to use the bathroom. However, once completed they sent report to my PCP who sent the referral for a cpap machine to Family Medical Supply company who never called me so my PCP referred me back here to Parkway Sleep for the machine. I went in, picked up the machine and it's been working good ever since. My only complaint would be that I'd like to get more instruction on the machine and have downloads done sooner to adjust the machine more frequently if needed versus every 90 days. All-in-all a pleasant experience. read more

Very good service. They always make sure I get my supplies when they are due, even when I forget.

I really dislike dealing with the place. But, it will take a lot of work to get transferred over to another place, thus I keep coming back here. I find dealing with them maddening. When you want to speak to them, they take forever (if ever) calling you back. But when they are trying to get more money from the insurance company by hawking more supplies on you or bugging you about getting another CPAP machine (allowed every 5 yrs per insurance), they are right on it!! I don't follow their recommended change of equipment b/c in my mind it's ripping off the insurance company even though it's allowed. Unless you live in a filthy, dusty house, you don't need to replace the filter every 2 weeks (at the tune of about $15 per filter) or nasal pillows to the tune of $70. You never feel like they are in your corner. I'd look elsewhere for your CPAP needs. read more

The sleep study was great because it the time you will sleep your best since you will be in an ideal setup lol... The folks in the lab are good and courteous. Arrive on the time they schedule you because they are already accounting for the 40-60 minutes that takes to place all sensors. I have good insurance, and never had problem with out of pockets but I have to mention the "automatic re-supply" - this stuff usually lasts a long time with me and there is no reason it wont last for you too but anyway. .. after the first automatic re-supply shipment, I had to to tell them to stop as it came with 6 extra mask-pillow replacements.. that's about 3 years supply for me :-P .. so now I call and order on a "as needed basis" - it's better for your insurance side too. The followup, it is what it is - you have to give the doctors credit because they don't know a thing about your sleep habits and besides from the sleep study that gives just a snapshot of one night, on an ideal situation they have nothing else to go with, so I don't blame any doctor. I also say that you should take charge and do your research. read more

Buyer Beware! My experience during an actual sleep study was fine. People were very professional and knew what they were doing. Then it came time to get a CPAP. When I asked about pricing the first answer I got was that I didn't have to worry because they knew the right codes that would "get my insurance company to pay for it." I asked again. Then the answer was that I didn't need to worry about it because they were all the same price. Suddenly, it felt like I was buying a used car instead of a medical device. I don't particularly care for insurance companies, but if you're ripping them off, they're going to get their money in higher premiums or lower benefits. And, oh by the way, you're cheating and stealing! Then I get a call 6 months later asking how things are going. I need to have a small silicone part replaced. The Parkway person says I can stop by and pick it up, "Insurance covers it." I pick up the bag, pay thirty some dollars, and I'm on my way. Halfway home I realize there are two in the bag. I only needed one, but fine I'll keep the second as a spare. As it turns out, my insurance coverage changed and I received a denial from the previous company for the spare part(s). In addition to the $35 or so they got from me, Parkway was asking insurance for another $150. I went online and in less than 2 minutes found the exact same part for $22. They're charging about $90 for something available online for $22. Went in yesterday to ask about the discrepancy and was told to "call the billing department" by a receptionist who gave off a profound "stop asking questions" vibe. It's not a billing issue, it's a pricing issue, and it's likely an integrity issue. There's a shiny black Jaguar parked outside and I suppose one has to be creative to make those car payments, but don't insult your patients by thinking we don't see what you're trying get away with. read more

I have been using Parkway Sleep for a couple of years so I can comment on my experience. During my initial sleep study, done after my partner recorded my erratic breathing on an iPhone and my Primary heard it, the scheduling was quick, well organized and executed. Arrived during the setup window to get wired - literally. That feat took a while and then I relaxed for the evening. Their staff was courteous and professional and quite accommodating - considering how many electrodes they attach all over your body! Special Note: The CPAP systems used today are sophisticated and uber quiet compared to ones just a few years ago. I guess I had dreaded going down this road after knowing a couple of people on CPAP and hearing how loud those old machines were - not so anymore. During my followups, these have been a breeze. Show up with your memory chip, they do a checks and complete an analysis of your compliance based on data from your chip, repeat in 6 months. Consumable such as masks, headgear, tubing and humidifier containers may be replaced according to your insurance schedule. Coverage, pricing and fees are based on your insurance policy. I am not the type of person that normally types on these sites, but I am here to say that Parkway Sleep saved my life. When my doctor first referred me to Parkway Sleep I was a little skeptical about what a sleep study is all about. I had been having trouble for years with insomnia and loud snoring, which annoyed my wife and made it hard for me to function on a day to day basis. Now, I have never felt better and only wish I would have gone in to see them sooner. I was very nervous out of the gate to come in for a sleep study because I had no idea what went on during these tests. I checked out Parkway's website and it already put me at ease with its solid information and videos, which give good insight on what the experience is going to be like. When they called me I had many questions, which they were more than happy to answer. My main concern was the out of pocket expense. I was happy to hear that Parkway had called to check on my insurance for me and get an estimate of my costs. I was even happier when I heard that my only cost would be my co pay of $40! I had friends and coworkers in the past that went for sleep studies at other facilities and had thousands of dollars in expenses. When it came to my study everything went very smooth and I even got a 20 minute complimentary massage, free of charge. Talk about a great way to get patients relaxed before a study. Just another thing my friends and coworkers didn't experience at other facilities when they had sleep studies performed. Parkway Sleep has a staff that our experts when it comes to sleep medicine. I have struggled with sleep for about five years now. Even after doing all the recommended treatments - reasonable exercise, no caffeine, no bright lights, earplugs, melatonin, etc. - my brain at times was not able to shut down at night and a regular night of sleep seemed impossible. I would wake up 10 to 12 times a night and had a few completely sleep-free nights every week. After countless visits to my physician, I knew there had to be something else I could try. I found out about Parkway SleepHealth Centers from a family friend who struggled with sleep apnea. I was incredibly hesitant at first as the thought of a sleep study terrified me. But, desperate for a solution to my sleeping problems, I decided to give Parkway a try and made an appointment with the physician. From that very first appointment, I knew I had made the right decision to come to Parkway. Not only did the medical team provide me with excellent advice, but the level of customer service was truly one-of-a-kind. After my initial appointment, my sleep already began to improve. Intrigued to find out more about my sleeping habits, I decided to try a sleep study to record a full night's sleep and hopefully take a step closer to beating my insomnia. Although I had been very nervous leading up to the study, Parkway SleepHealth Centers made me feel incredibly comfortable - my sleep study felt more like an overnight stay at a hotel. The staff was also incredibly caring and went the extra mile to make me feel more at home. Not only did the sleep study uncover my sleep habits, it recorded exactly how many times I awoke throughout the night and helped categorize and diagnose my insomnia. Since the study, I have gone back to Parkway SleepHealth twice - once to receive my sleep study results and again as a follow-up. Each time I visit, I am amazed by their professionalism, level of customer service and commitment to ensuring that my sleep improves. In short, I have been extremely satisfied with every component of my Parkway SleepHealth Center experience. I have seen many doctors over the course of the last five years, but I have never felt more comfortable with my sleeping habits as I do now. Not sure what Mike H. is talking about, but the assertion that the black Jaguar belongs to someone that works there is absurd considering there are at least 3 businesses in that same building (and a dozen more neighboring it...). It could belong to anyone. As for me, I've been a couple of times at this point and they always treated me great and they were considerably less expensive than having the study at a hospital (for me at least...).
