They are bottomless and the owner came around asking if we wanted refills or if we wanted our drinks in a to go cup at the end of the meal. So that was nice, but I'd still rather have a $3 cup of juice. I didn't have the cinnamon rolls (or maybe they call them sweet rolls) but they were small and didn't look too appetizing. Although it was difficult to get in touch with someone, I appreciate their willingness to hear my concerns and their attempts to rectify the situation. When I returned to the store for the agreed-upon refund, however, the experience became frustrating. The manager, Aubrey, initially attempted to refund me for a less expensive drink and seemed unwilling to believe me when I explained what I had paid. I clarified that I was not seeking reimbursement for the tip, only the agreed-upon refund for my purchase. Her tone felt irritated and dismissive throughout the interaction. Fortunately, I still had my receipt with me and was able to verify the correct amount. Mistakes happen, and I appreciate that the store acknowledged the possibility of an error. What disappointed me most was how the refund was handled. I left feeling that my concerns were met with skepticism rather than understanding. Additionally, on a completely separate side note, while I was there, I noticed a customer had a dog inside the café. When I first visited with my friend, we had her dog with us and we were told dogs were only welcome on the patio because they had an open kitchen. So it was unexpected to see this dog inside and drinking from a reusable customer water cup provided by Peace on Earth. The inconsistency in enforcing store policies was surprising. I hope the business uses this as an opportunity to improve employee training and customer service.
