i love my hair cut. but the process took an hour and a half. my hair dresser , Diana , she was very…read morenice , but not friendly. she didnt make the experience special. although she had a few years of experience , she was way too timid to cut my hair. i got about 14 inches cut off , i understand that can be intimidating , but i was told my the manager that she "specializes in long hair" looking back , im fairly certain the manager was just trying to use buzz words to make her hair dresser seem better than she actually was. when i told her to add more layers , she then started to tug and pull at my hair like she was frustrated. i wouldnt recommend this salon at all. i knew i should have just went to the hair salon i normally go to , jyl craven.

I won't return and I don't recommend. 45 bucks down the drain.

Today was the first time I've been to Dream Nails. I usually frequent another salon, but since that…read moreone I really like was closed for Memorial Day, I thought I'd give Dream nails a try since they were the closest open salon. I'm usually hesitant about going anywhere else than my usual. I strictly have pedicures only just to help relax and decompress and as I can imagine many others enjoy getting their nails/feet done without small comments, etc said to them by the technician to ruin the experience. I'm super easy to please and if I don't really like a certain salon, I just don't go back and don't even bother with reviews...but I can tell you Henry really hit it out of the ball park (in a negative way) today to make me really want to share my experience. Initially coming into the salon, everyone was friendly. But once Henry started on my pedicure, he made some comments here and there and the way he talked to me made me feel like an idiot like he was talking down to me on the tiniest of things during the pedicure. I do not see the point in asking me questions on how I prefer something done... Then turn around after I gave my answer and say he's going to do it a different way because "that's better". I was thinking initially maybe he just vocalizes every single thing he does/is thinking and isn't intending to be rude, but continued to give him the benefit of the doubt...However, throughout my entire experience I just felt super uncomfortable and far from relaxed. When he started painting my toenails with the color of polish I chose, he verified with me to make sure I liked the color after it was applied. At this point, I just wanted to get out of there, and since my main reason of coming is just to relax and decompress, and not necessarily the color of my nails, I told him that the color actually looks a little darker than I had expected, but that's OK, you can keep going. Instead of just staying quiet or just saying OK and then proceeding to paint the rest of my toenails, He then held up the bottle of nail polish against my toenails to say that it looks exactly the same and that there's no difference. if that were the case, then why did he even verify with me in the first place if I even like the color? I know I'm not the only one who's expected a bottle of nail polish to look either lighter or darker than what it actually comes out to be on their nails. Some colors are misleading when you just look at them from the outside of the nail polish bottle. When we got to the point to where it was time for me to get up from the chair to go dry my nails under the fan, Henry said and motioned that I can get up and go to the lamp...then he proceeded to go to the right side of the chair to start wiping out the water basin, which is fine, so, then I lifted up the left side arm rest to exit the left side of the chair since he was in the way on the right side. He then proceeded to make a big deal about how I hadn't exited to the right side of the chair... Talking to me as if I'm an idiot for not exiting to right. I then replied and said that he had started to wipe the bin while sitting on the right side of the chair and that he was in the way for me to exit from the right. He was making the point clear and obvious that he wanted me to leave out on the right side of the chair even though he was clearly in the way on the right side...Then he was gaslighting me telling me that he was going to open up the armrest on the right side when he was just wiping down the bin. And then comes the time to pay for the pedicure and I was ready to be gone that I didn't even sit down to dry my nails under the fan. I gave him my card to pay... Then after he took my card behind the desk to the pin pad, he then brings my card back up like he's going to hand it to me, but instead my card somehow flung up into the air from Henrys hand and landed on the desk right in front of me....he didn't grab the card, so I assumed he had already ran it, so I picked it up off the desk & put it back in my wallet... I have long thin and heavy hair. It's very difficult to style and work with and usually just flops…read moredown regardless of what products I style it with. Michelle is the only stylist that has been able to put in the long layers that make it so much more manageable. After she cuts my hair it's not heavy and limp anymore; it actually has body. I've made the mistake of going to other salons over the years and always come back to Michelle and Kelly. They have experience and they know what they're doing.
