I've been having severe foot pain for years and was told it's just osteoarthritis, and there is nothing more you can do. Dr. Lund diagnosed me with three different foot problems, gave me some stretches, and said if these don't help, there is a simple outpatient surgery that can remove the bone spurs. Then Dr. Moore fitted me with orthotics to treat these conditions and within days of wearing them, my feet started to feel better. I haven't experienced this is years. Dr. Jaryga rushed through the appointment, spent no more than five minutes with us, and performed a partial nail avulsion without informing me or asking for my consent. As her parent, I had no idea that he had permanently removed part of her nail until our second visit. There was no explanation beforehand, no discussion of treatment options, and no opportunity for me to provide informed consent. Had I known what he was planning to do, I would have absolutely declined this permanent procedure and requested less invasive alternatives first. I expect transparency and communication from any medical professional--especially when treating a minor. This experience felt rushed, dismissive, and completely lacking in the basic respect of parental rights and informed consent. I would strongly urge other parents to be extremely cautious before seeking treatment from Dr. Jaryga.
