Pretty decent spot for good Peruvian food! I called ahead for pick-up, but still had to wait about 15-20 min to get my food after arrival. That was the only bummer. But the lady working was really sweet, the food was delicious, and the place looked like it was fairly busy on a Sunday evening. The restaurant itself is cutely decorated and had a nice feel to it. Parking lot is a tad small, considering the other establishments it shares the lot with. Overall, great spot that I'd go to again.

El Cholito is Fire! I've been coming to this Peruvian Restaurant for years and let me tell you that the food here is amazing. Lomo Saltado is one my all-time favorite Peruvian dishes! A combination of juicy tender beef, crisp red onions, tomatoes all tossed in a delicious sauce and served over a bed french fries with a side of white rice. Can't forget their green creamy spicy aji sauce. Try their agua fresca de Maracuya. Truly the perfect combo and so incredibly delicious! Props to the Chef and my favorite waitress Isabel for her wonderful service.

I've come in to eat here twice in one month, me and the wife couldn't wait to go back. The flavors of the meats all the different sauces are very flavorful. Definitely putting this place in my rotation of visits

Has this place bookmarked, didint know what I wanted for work lunch and decided to try it out. Got the Lomo Especial(Beef/Shrimp/Chimkin) was not bad at all. Maybe not the best ive had but was well seasoned and portions were just right. Also got the Papa a La Huancaina, sauce is super cheesy. Papas were ok, nothing else going on but the sauce. Pro Tip: They skimp out on the green sauce, make sure you order extra. Its a very, very small little cup.

This is NOT Arroz Chaufa.. they gave me Mexican rice with shrimp. Not PERUVIAN AT ALL!

Esto No es Chaufa de Cameron's . Para nada save a comida Peruana . Esto save a Arroz Mexicano. No lo que esperaba mucho menos por El Precio.

be sure to ask how they make the dish you're ordering and ask preferably no "garnish" the green spaghetti recipe does not come with tomato they added this as a "garnish" and topped it off with RANCH which I'm allergic too, I called and asked them to please clarify this information for future reference since I had to toss this completely... to which they responded " we weren't aware of your allergy" I didn't feel the need to clarify this since I DID NOT ORDER ANYTHING THAT CONTAINS ALLERGY INGREDIENT. The authentic peruvian dish does not come with any of this please stick to the recipe if not then don't call yourself authentic peruvian food. I'd know I'M PERUVIAN. Never again. Far better peruvian restaurants in the area ! No wonder when I walked in it was EMPTY.

Came here for Peruvian food. Small parking lot is available outside of the restaurant. I only see 1 server, but service was prompt. Everything was communicated in Spanish, so I was little lost. However, the server seemed very nice. Restaurant has a causal Latin vibes, and Spanish music was played on TV. Server brought us warm bread with a green and white dressing. The green dressing was too spicy for me. I like the white dressing much better. We got cream soda, which I am not a big fan of, and lomo saltado. I had similar dish before, but this lomo saltado was better than what I had. Meat was tender, juicy, and flavorful that was perfectly cooked. I finished the whole dish, and was very full! Will come back again if I am in the area.

amazing customer service and super cute interior!! they were so sweet and let us pick up an order to go even though they were closing. lomo saltado was maybe a tiny bit overpriced but was super yummy so no complaints - 10/10 for everything

I stopped by today for a Lomo Saltado. I am giving them one more star. Portion, flavor, presentation and service was good. Total for it was $20.40

I found parrilla's cholito on yelp and I am happy I tried their food. I had the seafood rice. It was tasty and satisfied my Peruvian craving.

I mean everybody's allowed an off day. This place obviously taste good because I always see it packed. Today just wasn't there day . We waited for an hour and a half. Noticed that a table that was there when we got there still hadn't gotten their food either after they complained It just started a chain of events. My friends Is not patient and did not want to get her food after waitiing for so long. I was still in it to win it. What can I say it's definitely not as good as Fernando's on fire stone but it's not bad either. I did see them walking in with a load from Costco so maybe they just didn't have all their supplies .If you were going to come to this restaurant make sure you have a lot of time to kill. I will definitely try them again

What a find this great restaurant is bomb....The food is amazing..we all had the Lomo Saltado...the steak was amazingly tender. We ordered extra Platano Frito...good decision as they disappeared very quickly. And a final note...the Cookies are to die for! Yum!Yum! Enjoy! We're going back soon. The staff is professional and very friendly as well! I would highly recommend to anybody and the service was impeccable . I will be back next time I am in town . The atmosphere is just OK.

This was a bit off the track on our way but had great reviews so went for it! Reviews said meals come with bread and aguadito! Count us in! The bread and aguadito are actually Yummy together, never thought to eat like this but it's so good. The soup is more watery than I make mine or have had but trust me, dip your bread in it! Game changer!!!! I love that they do this, makes them stand out and serving soup with each meal is why we chose it over all the other Peruvian restaurants on the way. The place was packed by the way. And we saw more ppl going in for the first time as well saying oh look, it's over here in the corner. I love more and more ppl are discovering how amazing Peruvian food is!!! For meals we got aji de gallina, my personal favorite and it did not disappoint. It had a very slight kick to it. Again trust me, I'm Kentucky born, I can't handle spicy lol. And this was perfect. Not spicy. Just a tiny kick. Try it. Enjoy it. Make sure you take a bite of rice with each bite of this dish. It's meant to eat together. Got papa rellena to share but we weren't fans so we just ate our other dish. But next day we ate it with our leftovers and we both enjoyed it much more. A must with the aji verde of course. And again, each bite must be paired with the salsa criollo that comes with it. Salsa criollo is the sliced red onions in the container with limon and cilantro, trust me, it's how it's meant to be eaten. Hubby got the arroz con mariscos. He enjoyed it. I am not a jaela fan, so I just don't care for these dishes. I'm a chaulfa fan! And they are not the same though they may look similar. So if you don't like this try chaulfa next time. But my husband prefers this dish to chaulfa, still he doeslikes both. We got chicha to drink. There's taste a hint different than other places. Not at all a bad thing. We loved it! Obviously house made! Some put a tad more pineapple and some a tad more cinnamon etc. So not all will taste the exact same. I highly recommend you try there's. Wish we'd gotten two each! Restaurant was clean and efficient and good seating options. Bathroom was clean and roomy. Staff was welcoming and nonstop working and willing to explain the dishes if you aren't familiar so ask if needed. Menu is thorough. It explains each dish well. My only complaint, it's far from Oceanside lol!!! LA has sooooooo many options, we need more in San Diego county. But if you are trying to decide since there's sooo many in the area, we recommend you try this place. Oh and my husband used the extra aji verde we had left over on our pasta, he loved it.

The staff is friendly, the food was tasty, and this was an unexpected oasis of delight. My first time I tried the Lomo Saltado, it seemed like a must try for a first experience. And it was excellent. The lunch special started off with a delicious soup and then the meal came out and hello. This was no meager lunch. It was a lunch that was delightful, delicious and I satisfied for the rest of the day. The second journey here I was happy to try something different. I had the Vinita Saltada with beef. Well this was once again a wonderful meal. I am so thankful to have found this wonderful place. And I look forward to going again soon. And bringing another friend along.

Been a customer for over 25 yrs. Gotta say the aji green salsa is still good. But not as good as it used to be. Same yummy rolls. Ordered my usual since we're only here a few times a year now. Back when I was working in Bellflower, I was here every Monday for lunch. Tried most things in the menu. Ordered: Ceviche mixto- tangy, not spicy unless you bite into the yellow habanero. Which was so large I thought it was a bell pepper! A mix of shrimp, scallop, squid, mussel & white fish. It's still a fav. Tallarin mariscos- pasta with mixed seafood in a soy sauce based sauce. Off menu and still very good. Lomo saltado- hubby ordered this. Said it was good as usual. Unsure about other comments regarding toughness of meats. Decor has changed a bit. Half wall divides length of restaurant. Possibly to create a sense of intimacy in this one large room. We will still come back. Not for nostalgia but because we still enjoy the food here. There's a possibility previous reviewers have a misconception about restaurant life. Not sure they've notice the price of groceries in general have increased. Most entrees $20 +. Similar to other restaurants. Gone are the days of $12-15 entrees. Realistically need to consider prices of gas too. Cuz foods arrive in trucks. Also finding and keeping good chefs/staff is hella difficult. Hopefully the owners can balance their skills amount three restaurants.
