    Lomo Saltado

Amazing food and great customer service. I ordered the Lomo Saltado and the quality of the meat was excellent. The only recommendation I have is for the fries to be well cooked. They seemed bit undercooked. The Aji was amazing too... spicy but bearable. The staff is friendly, the location is a bit small and cozy but clean. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

Absolutely delicious Peruvian Ceviche Mixto including shrimp, squid, and fish. This dish also includes Peruvian ingredients including fresh and toasted Inca corn, as well as cooked sweet potato. Perfectly prepared! Casual atmosphere in a strip mall. Order at the register and your meal will be brought out to you. Highly recommended!

Today felt like a summer day which made me want something refreshing such as a ceviche. My bf had been craving Peruvian food for a couple weeks now. We were both hungry and thought about going to our usual spots, but he suggested to try a new place. I looked it up on yelp and it looked good, it was a bit more of a drive than our usual but I was down to try a new place. We arrived there, it's a small hole in the wall that looks clean and had cute decoration with a big alpaca and photo spot. They have single stall restrooms separated by gender and no gender neutral. They have plenty of parking on the front and extra in the back. This is a family friendly restaurant and no AC. They have fans around the place but thankfully not too hot today. My first callout is that the lady was very nice, but no English. My bf doesn't speak any Spanish, but thankfully I do. If you don't speak Spanish just be prepared to point at the menu. I ordered a coke and a leche de Tigre, one of my favourites to get at Peruvian restaurants. My bf wanted the rotisserie chicken but they were all out of whole chicken so he ordered the chaufa rice with chicken and a cuzqueña beer. He also ordered a papa rellena. My ceviche and the beer came out first. The salty crunchy corn things on the side were really good, sadly the ceviche was a disappointment for me. It didn't have much fish in it, it was mostly onion and some corn. The ceviche was extremely salty tot he point that I had tot ame breaks to eat it and taste something else. It was also disappointing that it didn't taste like lime, it was made with the fake lime, the very citrusy liquid one that triggers your heartburn. I'm glad I had tums in the car since I needed them after that. My bfs chaufa came out and it was probably the best dish we had here, but not great, it was ok. It didn't have that much chicken in it and it just wasn't remarkable, it was food. The stuffed potato was the last thing to come out and it was ok too. I liked it, but wished it would've had more protein. It seemed as if the meat was mostly on one side and it had other veggies. The potato was very soft with a deep fried exterior. The onions were slightly pickled. When it was time to pay, I noticed that the check had 2 prices, one for cash and one for card. I was going to give a 3 stars but that business practice made it so I dropped another star and took it out of the tip. Overall I understand that this place might have good reviews because of the lack of other Peruvian restaurants around but I highly suggest to keep driving to Sol Inka or Cuzco they are both much better than here.

Yet another pleasant surprise. They greeted us with warm smiles & fast yet freshly prepared food! I watched on as my family all approved of their dishes. I especially enjoyed my milanesa de pollo! Clean and chic decor was a plus

Lomo Saltado - 5 tiny pieces of meat

Tondero is the closest Peruvian spot in Pico Rivera, which is why I keep giving it a chance, but I'm always disappointed. The lomo saltado is especially frustrating. The portion of meat is extremely small. Last time I counted about 5 tiny pieces of meat, which is unacceptable for the price. I really want to support a local Peruvian place, but the lack of meat makes it hard to justify coming back.

Small hole in the wall restaurant. With friendly service. Food was great, very tasty. In a shopping center with adequate parking. Would recommend if you are in the area and looking for a similar to home cooked meal. The pictures taste exactly what they look like. Recommend!

Once upon a time, during Covid , while I was still playing online games, I met a teammate who was a chef from Colombia, currently miserablely working at a fast food joint in Australia. He shared with me that it took him two years to perfect his Lomo Saltado when he went to Peru to learn the cousin . I don't keep in touch with him anymore, but whenever I eat Peruvian food, I think of him.later my alliance had a bully whos also from Peru, he w As rude and had a temper. Unfortunately, Peruvian cuisine is hard to find in Taiwan, where the food diversity isn't that great. On the other hand, this a small but welcoming restaurant in Pico Rivera that I really enjoy.

My friend wanted to check out this hole in the wall Peruvian joint on a recent Sunday evening. This is a very small place with only about 5 tables. My friend and I sat literally next to the cash register. We shared the pollo saltado and the seafood mix ceviche. They are out of chicha morada that day, and also the AC was not working. We were quite warm! The chicken saltado was tasty. TBH many Peruvian places makes this dish way too salty, but here it was just right. I don't eat spicy but my friend enjoyed it with the house green sauce with this dish. The seafood mix ceviche had fish, shrimp, and calamari rings. The taste was very flavorful. The only downside is if you try to bite into the calamari ring, the rubbery part is not chewable/breakable at all. My friend and I were playing chew the "rubber band". Hopefully I can order dish minus the calamari rings next time. The lady who managed all the customers at the tables was super friendly, courteous, and refilled our water couple times.

Delicious food!! So far I've tried lomo saltado and papá huancaina. The lomo was tender! I loved the sauce, so much flavor! The papa was yummmmyy and saucy. Fresh food. Very happy here so far. Also, staff are very nice! The place is clean and colorful.

I went to the 7-11 next door and walked past this place. I looked on Yelp and noticed the awesome lunch specials. I decided to try it out. I ordered the aji de gallina to try. They gave me the lunch special price so it was awesome! It came with bread + butter, soup, soda/drink, and the entree. It was a lot of food! I was so full even after the soup! The aji de gallina is good but reminded me of a tuna casserole. Waitress was nice and it was a hole in the wall joint.

Staff was friendly, I had the green pasta with need. Flavor was good but meat was hard to my liking . Pasta needed a bit more cooking. The arroz con mariscos had only two shrimp, three clamps and dry.

I would describe this place as that saying "Jack of all trades, master of none". I came with a group and we all ordered a variety of dishes, yet nothing stuck out. For a small space they have 1 waitress who needs better skills, she may be new. I say this because even as she brought out dishes she brought things out in pieces (got my shrimp cocktail, then had to ask for crackers, then had to ask for lemon, then had to ask for salt and pepper). Some points for the food: Talllarin - chicken was dry, pasta good Bandeja paisa - 7/10 arepa dry, no beef or beans Shrimp cocktail - very little shrimp, little to no juice, like a salsa mix in the cocktail Gyoza - good can't mess that up Lomo - eh fries came warm not hot, doesn't look like a traditional sauce The good things about this place: Good little green salsa and they served a good chicha de mora. Would I come back? No. You can definitely find better quality food and cheaper prices at a regular 1 cuisine restaurant. I would like to add presentation was nice on the food but nothing tasted quite right...

We're greeted by the owner of the restaurant she told us we can sit anywhere in the restaurant and we did find a table. She came and hand us the menu then she our drinks order we both order coffee. The restaurant is very nice e cozy little restaurant of full of Colombian adornments that you feel you are in Colombia. The rice was amazing it have good flavor in the rice and fluffy that we enjoy. The Arepa was so good like a pupusa but cheesy that I really like including the cheese they use in Arepa.
