This was my first time at Aji Verde, and I came on a friend's recommendation. Despite how busy it was on a Sunday, we were seated right away with no issue for our group of six. I'm a longtime customer of Aji Verdi I normally order online however this time tonight I was in the area so I stopped by went in and ordered, I got the chicken aguadito soup we call it green soup I ordered extra green sauce usually delicious and it didn't disappoint but at the end when my order was brought to me the waitress handed me my food and there was only 2 green sauces and I know I asked for extra she tried to argue me down and tell me that it's $2.00 each so I just took my order and said thank.you plus my food was $23.00 and I gave her a $5.00 TIP. Aji Verde is tucked away in a corner of a strip mall type of place next to the laundry mat with plenty of parking in the parking lot. It's a nice place for families as well as a date night. I saw most of the reviews on yelp were about how good the food was and really wanted to try it with our fellow foodie friends. But our overall experience was not great and that was a bummer for me. But I'll start with what I did like which was the food. The complimentary bread was good and the chicken soup was very flavorful. The fried plantains ( around $6) that my friend ordered were pretty burnt though on all the pieces. The Lomo Saltado ($16.35 plus tax) I ordered was pretty good and with the green sauce it enhanced the flavor. The hubby ordered the pollo saltado ($16.35 plus tax) and he really liked his dish. I definitely would give the food 4 stars. What I didn't like and my friends agreed that the service wasn't good at all. We came on a Sunday evening a few hours before closing. We weren't greeted when we walked in, a lady behind the counter just told to sit down in the corner booth since that's all they had. It took several minutes before she came and gave us menus. Once seated I will say our waitress was good at taking our orders and the time for our food to come out was quickly which I appreciated. But after that no one came to check up on us or ask how the food was, or refill our waters. Maybe 30 min later we finally were asked how the food was but by that time we were just ready for the check and ready to leave. Maybe they were busy or understaffed but I would have liked to be checked up on at least a once or twice after receiving our meal. I called over the phone to place an order, right off the bat the guy that answered was very rude and didn't let me explain my order. He kept on insisting he knew what I wanted. We went to pick up the food and got home and it was not what we ordered at all. We called to let them know and he was getting very disrespectful and saying that It was our fault because we "didn't order correctly " . The back and forth went on for about 5 minutes till we hung up. We got to the restaurant and he told my boyfriend who was getting the food that he should slap him for being disrespectful ! I spent almost $50 on my food for him to get it wrong and insult the both of us. Mind you, he had no shame the restaurant was full with people.
