I love a good dive bar, but this is a whole class below. Genuinely smells awful in there and my two ingredient drink was made incorrectly.

Guys, it's a shitty dive bar. For what it is, it's a decent place. When it's your only option after midnight, you can't be too picky.

No one was there but the owner picked up the phone and was able to arrange a great table for us right in the bar area! Walking in I was immersed in the moody and dark space, brightened by pops of red and other Asian accents. The bar is beautiful and the bartender was hard at work cranking out cocktails. Lindsay was our server, and she was an absolute breath of fresh air, clearly passionate about her role in providing the guest experience, and frankly, she made all the difference in our experience. It all started when she saw our boys sitting at the low two top and offered them a private dining experience right next to us! They downed so much sushi, I nearly had to take out a second mortgage, but I'd happily pay it over and over to see the looks on their faces at 5 and 8 again! To say that a core memory was made that night is a massive understatement, as we have not stopped hearing about this since we returned and my son even made my mother walk him back to the restaurant the next day just to see if he could say hi! She took incredible care of the grown ups too. Helped with menu selections, addressed all requests swiftly and handled any issues with actual regard for the feedback being provided, which is becoming more and more rare in today's industry. On the food, we ordered most the apps including wings, green beans, cucumbers, shrimp, and spring rolls, and then we added the crab noodles, yellow curry and a few sushi rolls. The cucumbers and green beans stole the show, with the shrimp and crab noodles not too far behind. The sushi was decent, but I found the rice a bit gummy and didn't really get a sense of each element within them. The wings and curry were a bit bland for my liking but the wings benefitted by the additional sauce with them. The curry needed a bit more heat, fish sauce, and maybe a hit of vinegar. As someone who LOVES Asian food, this satisfied the itch after mainly eating American food for so many days, but I'd realistically rate it a 3.5 stars, especially considering the price and value. I'd happily return on my next visit to Saugatuck and suggest it to friends too. Keep crushing the service game!

It's such a fun, immersive atmosphere. The food? Amazing. The drinks? Delicious. And the service? Even better. Everything just flowed and made for such a great night. Definitely one of those places you go for the full experience, not just the meal.

It's next door to their sister restaurant, Lovejoy. Walking in, the space is very dimly lit with a nice bar and some cozy seating. We were directed to a couch and a couple of low chairs. The menu is organized into different "chapters," with different themes for each chapter. They also have beer, wine, spirit-free options, and a spirits list. I wanted something fun, so I chose the Don the Beachcomber, a rum-based tiki cocktail that is flamed tableside. My friend got the Obstacle No. 1, which is a bourbon drink that they smoke at your table. Very theatrical and fun! These drinks were $20+ so pretty pricey, but worth it for a fun occasion. We had a nice time just relaxing and catching up. I would say it's not a great spot for a large group, but definitely a fun date night place. They have a small food menu of offerings from the restaurant next door that sounded tasty. We had just eaten but I'd be interested in their small plates. I'm so glad I got to experience this place. We arrived at 9:45pm and were seated at a cute, cozy little couch and table setup. The hostess handed us both a drink menu and a separate food menu. Looking through it, I was thrilled to see quite an expansive cocktail list broken down by "chapters," as well as several small snack options clearly marked with a gluten-free (GF) label. Unfortunately, the experience was a bit disappointing once we tried to order. Despite the online hours stating the venue closes at 11:00pm our server informed us that the kitchen was already closed. There is no indication online of what time the kitchen closes, and it was incredibly disappointing to be handed a dedicated food menu by the hostess only to be told moments later we couldn't order anything. When I asked our server for recommendations and which specific cocktails were gluten-free, she mentioned she was new and had to go check. She returned about 10 minutes later, only to give a vague answer that "most drinks were gluten-free" without offering an actual recommendation or helpful suggestion. My husband ended up ordering a non-alcoholic drink, but between the kitchen confusion and the lackluster service, I opted not to get anything at all. It's a cool venue with a lot of potential, but they should put their kitchen hours online and better train their staff on the menu.

Very loud if you need to sleep early! Front desk seemed genuinely apologetic, offered headphones and a time the din was to end, but it ended 30 minutes past that quoted time. The bar is fantastic, interesting drinks, and stellar prices during happy hour! Our bartender seemed discontent, like she was over it and didn't want to be there. From the original owner, George Howe, to his brother Michael Howe, to Ren Mireles, Adam Lee and Erik Alberg, this cozy (440 sq. ft.) shop has evolved and matured. Current owner Erik Alberg, aka"George the 5th", had been a patron for more than 30-years before purchasing the shop late in 2025, continuing the tradition. I've done business with them all. The cigar selection (120+ facings) is carefully curated to feature some of the best cigars available. As George himself was famous for saying "They're All Good!" New sticks are brought in regularly and old favorites also are stocked. New for 2026, Jorge's Cigars are back in the shop! Cuban American Jorge Casimiro started rolling cigars at George's Smoke Shop more than a decade ago and since has become a well-respected cigar manufacturer. George's Smoke Shop also features a wide selection of custom pipe tobaccos including the venerable "George's Blend", as well as pipes and pipe smoking accoutrement. Cigar lighters, cutters, and other items also are available. The cigar lounge at the rear features a half-dozen comfy chairs, two TV screens, and plenty of lighters and cutters. This is my go-to place for sports! One thing that sets George's apart from a lot of shops is that all the regulars, whether they're 21 or 81 years old, are friendly and welcoming. So, if you're looking for a second home...this just may be your place. (I know it's mine!) And if you're "just visiting" Holland, check it out while you're there. There's a reason downtown Holland is THE BEST downtown in America...and George's Smoke Shop is one very important element in that well-earned title. PS: No vape, no e-cigs, no cannabis. Just cigars and pipe tobacco!
