I have been here twice now and both times everything was exceptional! The ambiance and vibe of the restaurant is unlike any other place in the West Michigan area! The menu is very big and there's a lot of variety and something for everyone! I can't recommend this place enough, it is truly one of my favorite restaurants in Michigan. The service is very attentive and kind and even when we went on a busy night and they were missing a chef, they were still super accommodating and apologetic. I will say this is definitely on the pricier side but you are paying for amazing quality food, service and ambiance! Expect to pay around $80+ per person for drink, apps, entree and dessert depending on what you get. There is plenty of street parking in Saugatuck but during the busier summer months you might have to circle around a few times to find a spot. When we went this past week, there were plenty of spots available.

Super cool ambience. I loved the red lantern and the red mood lighting. They went all the way with that color and ambience and as the kids say, I am here for it and would give it a 10/10. We got the crab noodles and Mongolian beef. Both were really great and delicious. The beef especially was very tasty. The crab was good too but I felt like the noodles were just a little over done but what do I know?? But it was still quite good and unique! Oh, and we got the green beans - they were SOOOOO good! I loved the garlic on it and it was so well done. I'd definitely get it again! Our waitress was AMAZING though - she was so nice and checked up on us just the right amount of times. In general, the service was 5/5. I'd go again with the super cool vibe and service and would love to try other things on their menu!

A must see in Saugatuck! My friends and I went for dinner here on a Saturday night and it did not disappoint! Tucked away in an alley the Singapore room has an inviting nature with great decor and atmosphere. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated immediately. We did make a reservation and I would recommend people doing so as it was very busy. Each of us enjoyed our meals tremendously! I got the vegetable low mein and it was packed with flavor! A great portion size as well. It was a great experience and I would recommend this spot to anyone visiting Saugatuck!

Poor experience all around. A coworker recommended this place because she was good friends with their chef, and we were initially very excited to try it. Front of house was condescending when I mentioned we came because of said fact. Totally good with that, she probably had a lot on her mind. Our server was very sweet and they give healthy pours of wine. Food is the challenge here. Sichuan green beans came out cold. They were barely cooked. The garlic was still raw. I had to ask the server to send back to reheat this. Curry was way too sweet and was not balanced at all. Too much coconut milk was used, not enough spice or seasoning was used to counteract this. Fried prawns did not have the crispy texture you'd expect on the first bite. They were cooked through, but ate soggy. Atmosphere is fine - the whole restaurant has that "red light" vibe which I think can be interpreted in a variety of ways - but if you're close to the door when the sun is still out, it's confusing. If you're only in the area for a day, I'd pass.

Had a great first Singapore Room dining experience. As locals, we LOVE having a few solid/go to downtown restaurants; Ladybird is officially in the rotation. Further, it's refreshing to walk into a restaurant where the décor mirrors the feel and food. We arrived at the Singapore Room JUST before the rush so we could take our time, enjoy some drinks, then stage our apps and meals. Stefanie (server) took special care of us, made solid recommendations, and worked with us to pace our meal. Solid drink menu. Specifically, we enjoyed the negroni and beer selection. All dishes had heat, flavor, and were presented well. Standouts include the bang-bang shrimp, Hunan beef, and the orange chicken. We look forward to our next Singapore run, great service, and flavor parade.

Came here to celebrate a friends birthday and was very pleased with our experience here! Was immediately impressed with the dim lit and red interior and brought to our table since we had a reservation. I ordered sake to drink besides water and it was so smooth! Loved it We ordered crab rangoons, dumplings, and cucumber salad to share which were all very delicious! The dumplings especially with the very flavorful sauce. I ordered the garlic crab noodles for my entree and was soooo happy with it! They were very generous with the crab meat! The server was great too! Only issue was they put our bill on one and we had a hard time splitting it up but other than that, phenomenal experience! Grateful i was able to try this place and looking forward to returning again soon!

Fun atmosphere Asian fusion vibe friendly service . I have eaten their five or six times never been disappointed. Saugatuck are always crowded in the summer going early. Makes a lot of sense.

Still empty on the way out. And this is just the one room. Empty booths on the left as well.

If, you can edit your strange original response, so can I. I hate to be the one to tell you, but in the food world... your food isn't very good. Maybe slightly unique for Saugatuck, but no, in comparison to Chicago, LA, Eastern Europe, Asia, heck even the south...GR...your food was not good. I truly hate this for a small local business, but since you want to be personally insulting.. it is what it is. Your food is quite bland, your service is bad, the restaurant itself is fine, although hidden in back alley. ‍. It's odd to want to insult your customers, heck, I was even professional to your rude server. It's too bad that doesn't resonate through your place. Better luck next time, I guess? Dustin, Everywhere I go? If, you or others would like to look, I give very few poor ratings. That's a pretty small town, and word gets around when you do the opposite of taking care of customers. Your server basically ridiculed your client with a hearing disability. You're trying to ridicule me, after I did the respectful thing, and told you about our experience, giving you the chance to rectify the situation or even slightly seem apologetic. It looks as though the server's inappropriate behavior stems from you?

If you're within driving distance of Singapore Room and haven't eaten there yet... what are you doing? Every single dish? Fire. We started with the Smacked Cucumber Salad--cool, crunchy, spiced just enough to wake your tastebuds up without burning the house down. Next up: Pork Bao Buns. Soft, pillowy, packed with five-spice pork and house-pickled veggies that taste like they were made five minutes ago. If I could sleep on those buns like a memory foam pillow, I would. Chengdu Dumplings? Silky, savory, swimming in roasted chili oil that made me question everything I thought I knew about dumplings. Crab Rangoons? These aren't your strip mall versions. Real crab, golden and crisp, paired with a sweet-and-sour sauce that's actually balanced. Like someone gave your favorite bar snack a passport and a trust fund. And let's not skip over the Lobster Yi Mein. Thick, chewy noodles tangled with chunks of lobster and scallions, kissed by that deep Cantonese brown sauce. It's a whole mood. Flavors are layered, intentional, and straight-up addictive. Presentation is beautiful, service was on point, and the ambiance? Dark, moody, and vibey in all the right ways. Saugatuck just got dangerously delicious. Go hungry. Leave obsessed.

One of kind for the area! I have visited twice and service has been amazing and food everything I've been craving. I do want to mention sushi is limited in the off season (winter) and call ahead of this is something you're going for.

We made a reservation through the link on yelp. Got a table right away. Ambiance was great, club vibes. Our waitress was super kind and made us feel welcome right away. Food was very good, the standout was the cucumber salad that we got as an appetizer, it was enough to share for $8 which was a great way to start the meal. Cocktails, also very nice. All around great time at the Singapore Room. Would recommend to anyone looking for a fun date night destination or night out with friends.

It's next door to their sister restaurant, Lovejoy. Walking in, the space is very dimly lit with a nice bar and some cozy seating. We were directed to a couch and a couple of low chairs. The menu is organized into different "chapters," with different themes for each chapter. They also have beer, wine, spirit-free options, and a spirits list. I wanted something fun, so I chose the Don the Beachcomber, a rum-based tiki cocktail that is flamed tableside. My friend got the Obstacle No. 1, which is a bourbon drink that they smoke at your table. Very theatrical and fun! These drinks were $20+ so pretty pricey, but worth it for a fun occasion. We had a nice time just relaxing and catching up. I would say it's not a great spot for a large group, but definitely a fun date night place. They have a small food menu of offerings from the restaurant next door that sounded tasty. We had just eaten but I'd be interested in their small plates. I'm so glad I got to experience this place. It feels like you're transported to a secret speakeasy when you enter!

We arrived at 9:45pm and were seated at a cute, cozy little couch and table setup. The hostess handed us both a drink menu and a separate food menu. Looking through it, I was thrilled to see quite an expansive cocktail list broken down by "chapters," as well as several small snack options clearly marked with a gluten-free (GF) label. Unfortunately, the experience was a bit disappointing once we tried to order. Despite the online hours stating the venue closes at 11:00pm our server informed us that the kitchen was already closed. There is no indication online of what time the kitchen closes, and it was incredibly disappointing to be handed a dedicated food menu by the hostess only to be told moments later we couldn't order anything. When I asked our server for recommendations and which specific cocktails were gluten-free, she mentioned she was new and had to go check. She returned about 10 minutes later, only to give a vague answer that "most drinks were gluten-free" without offering an actual recommendation or helpful suggestion. My husband ended up ordering a non-alcoholic drink, but between the kitchen confusion and the lackluster service, I opted not to get anything at all. It's a cool venue with a lot of potential, but they should put their kitchen hours online and better train their staff on the menu.

It was quiet and we couldn't hear anyone in neighboring rooms. The bed was comfy and the room was clean. We had a standard king room on the second floor. Check-in was easy and our front door overlooked the pool. I don't think the pool was open when we were there because it was still chilly outside. It was a great experience, but frankly it was just a bummer that it felt like the entire space was geared towards gay men rather than queer PEOPLE as a whole. As a queer woman, I just wish it had felt like I was represented too, but it's okay cause not every space is for me! I also don't know if it's the norm, but the bar was pretty empty for a Saturday night which just didn't give the vibe for dancing I was hoping for. All the staff were so kind and helpful. Would totally stay here again if needed/staying in the area and would recommend to someone who is curious! I don't think I'd seek it out independently just because I live in Grand Rapids and it's only about 45 minutes away and again, feels like the vibe is more focused on men.

Here's what I felt missed the bar... First, a speakeasy's initial location of "secrecy"... I don't think the top floor of Monaco Bay is that difficult to find. In fact, there is a giant "Gatsby" sign lit up outside. Even if it is modern, perhaps an unmarked door at the entrance could enhance the overall feel. Second, the expectation of innovative cocktails that take you back to an era. The specials were the same as Monaco and the bartender didn't know what the night's special actually was... There's a lot of potential here to boast old custom cocktails from scratch- with a modern twist. Third, the atmosphere. The exposed brick, dark woods, and lavish style add to the tone. Would be really great if there were candles on tables instead of incredibly bright lights drilled into the floor. I did enjoy the unique lights hanging above the bar though. The decor played into vintage modern, but it's lacking some authenticity. Also, the DJ seemed to just play popular culture. Would have loved to hear some swing or jazz remixes instead.
