Highly recommend making reservations ahead as this spot was busy on a summer Wednesday night. We really enjoyed the orange chicken and dumplings! The magnolian beef was good but a bit thick and overly salty. Our server was attentive and this place had a fun atmosphere. I think adding fortune cookies would be a nice touch. Would recommend and look forward to visiting again next time we are in town!

Super cool ambience. I loved the red lantern and the red mood lighting. They went all the way with that color and ambience and as the kids say, I am here for it and would give it a 10/10. We got the crab noodles and Mongolian beef. Both were really great and delicious. The beef especially was very tasty. The crab was good too but I felt like the noodles were just a little over done but what do I know?? But it was still quite good and unique! Oh, and we got the green beans - they were SOOOOO good! I loved the garlic on it and it was so well done. I'd definitely get it again! Our waitress was AMAZING though - she was so nice and checked up on us just the right amount of times. In general, the service was 5/5. I'd go again with the super cool vibe and service and would love to try other things on their menu!

A must see in Saugatuck! My friends and I went for dinner here on a Saturday night and it did not disappoint! Tucked away in an alley the Singapore room has an inviting nature with great decor and atmosphere. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated immediately. We did make a reservation and I would recommend people doing so as it was very busy. Each of us enjoyed our meals tremendously! I got the vegetable low mein and it was packed with flavor! A great portion size as well. It was a great experience and I would recommend this spot to anyone visiting Saugatuck!

Poor experience all around. A coworker recommended this place because she was good friends with their chef, and we were initially very excited to try it. Front of house was condescending when I mentioned we came because of said fact. Totally good with that, she probably had a lot on her mind. Our server was very sweet and they give healthy pours of wine. Food is the challenge here. Sichuan green beans came out cold. They were barely cooked. The garlic was still raw. I had to ask the server to send back to reheat this. Curry was way too sweet and was not balanced at all. Too much coconut milk was used, not enough spice or seasoning was used to counteract this. Fried prawns did not have the crispy texture you'd expect on the first bite. They were cooked through, but ate soggy. Atmosphere is fine - the whole restaurant has that "red light" vibe which I think can be interpreted in a variety of ways - but if you're close to the door when the sun is still out, it's confusing. If you're only in the area for a day, I'd pass.

Had a great first Singapore Room dining experience. As locals, we LOVE having a few solid/go to downtown restaurants; Ladybird is officially in the rotation. Further, it's refreshing to walk into a restaurant where the décor mirrors the feel and food. We arrived at the Singapore Room JUST before the rush so we could take our time, enjoy some drinks, then stage our apps and meals. Stefanie (server) took special care of us, made solid recommendations, and worked with us to pace our meal. Solid drink menu. Specifically, we enjoyed the negroni and beer selection. All dishes had heat, flavor, and were presented well. Standouts include the bang-bang shrimp, Hunan beef, and the orange chicken. We look forward to our next Singapore run, great service, and flavor parade.

Came here to celebrate a friends birthday and was very pleased with our experience here! Was immediately impressed with the dim lit and red interior and brought to our table since we had a reservation. I ordered sake to drink besides water and it was so smooth! Loved it We ordered crab rangoons, dumplings, and cucumber salad to share which were all very delicious! The dumplings especially with the very flavorful sauce. I ordered the garlic crab noodles for my entree and was soooo happy with it! They were very generous with the crab meat! The server was great too! Only issue was they put our bill on one and we had a hard time splitting it up but other than that, phenomenal experience! Grateful i was able to try this place and looking forward to returning again soon!

Still empty on the way out. And this is just the one room. Empty booths on the left as well.

If, you can edit your strange original response, so can I. I hate to be the one to tell you, but in the food world... your food isn't very good. Maybe slightly unique for Saugatuck, but no, in comparison to Chicago, LA, Eastern Europe, Asia, heck even the south...GR...your food was not good. I truly hate this for a small local business, but since you want to be personally insulting.. it is what it is. Your food is quite bland, your service is bad, the restaurant itself is fine, although hidden in back alley. ‍. It's odd to want to insult your customers, heck, I was even professional to your rude server. It's too bad that doesn't resonate through your place. Better luck next time, I guess? Dustin, Everywhere I go? If, you or others would like to look, I give very few poor ratings. That's a pretty small town, and word gets around when you do the opposite of taking care of customers. Your server basically ridiculed your client with a hearing disability. You're trying to ridicule me, after I did the respectful thing, and told you about our experience, giving you the chance to rectify the situation or even slightly seem apologetic. It looks as though the server's inappropriate behavior stems from you?

If you're within driving distance of Singapore Room and haven't eaten there yet... what are you doing? Every single dish? Fire. We started with the Smacked Cucumber Salad--cool, crunchy, spiced just enough to wake your tastebuds up without burning the house down. Next up: Pork Bao Buns. Soft, pillowy, packed with five-spice pork and house-pickled veggies that taste like they were made five minutes ago. If I could sleep on those buns like a memory foam pillow, I would. Chengdu Dumplings? Silky, savory, swimming in roasted chili oil that made me question everything I thought I knew about dumplings. Crab Rangoons? These aren't your strip mall versions. Real crab, golden and crisp, paired with a sweet-and-sour sauce that's actually balanced. Like someone gave your favorite bar snack a passport and a trust fund. And let's not skip over the Lobster Yi Mein. Thick, chewy noodles tangled with chunks of lobster and scallions, kissed by that deep Cantonese brown sauce. It's a whole mood. Flavors are layered, intentional, and straight-up addictive. Presentation is beautiful, service was on point, and the ambiance? Dark, moody, and vibey in all the right ways. Saugatuck just got dangerously delicious. Go hungry. Leave obsessed.

    Drunken noodles with tofu

Fun atmosphere Asian fusion vibe friendly service . I have eaten their five or six times never been disappointed. Saugatuck are always crowded in the summer going early. Makes a lot of sense.

This place seems to be known for their pizza, but we had just eaten pizza the day before, so we opted for a side of fries, a side Caesar salad, and an order of the wings. Well, we ended up getting full portions of the side items, which was a bit of a bummer as we weren't super hungry plus it was more expensive. We'd just be more specific next time. The food was good, but we really should have ordered pizza. The Caesar salad was fresh and flavorful, but had a LOT of anchovies. I personally really like anchovies, but this was a bit much. The wings were huge and kind of gamey, and the skin was not crispy so they were not my favorite to eat. The fries were tasty but nothing special. I will give 5 stars for the beer! I had the lake noir, which was a blueberry/blackberry beer and the other fruit beer which was watermelon flavored. They were both fruity and refreshing and I really enjoyed them. I would come back for the pizza, which seemed a bit pricey but looked delicious.

We got the crab and lobster dip plus the duck liver mousse for appetizers. Both were bland and the flavor non-comprehensive. The dip had little flavor and the texture was weird and chewy, did not taste like the crab and lobster was cooked that day (from experience). The duck liver mousse was decent, but fell flat on a full flavor alone, it was kindly complemented with the pickled cucumber and carrots but overall it wasnt the most impressive. We had the lake trout and the hanger steak. The lake trout was gamey, oddly flavorless but also had a strong musky flavor, severely under seasoned during cooking. The spinach and embellishments saved the dish from being totally inedible. Presentation was sad and sloppy. The steak with tallow fries was a joke. The meat was chewy/tough, the sauce tasted like nothing, and the fries tasted like they came straight out of the freezer section of Walmart (freezer taste included). Wedges or fingerlings would have been a far better pairing in our opinion. Both of our plates were left barely half finished and it turned into a date of being food critics lol. A positive was they did make a decent old fashioned (was more of a double), and their French 75 was fabulous. Overall, it was a joke. We love interesting new places with unique menu options. We chose this place for that reason. Unfortunately we felt it was a case of "quantity over quality". These dishes had so much potential, but it was by far our worst food experience of our trip.

Sure, I'd leave places and be like, "I should really do them a solid" but then I just went home and either forgot about it or started doing other stuff. Have gotten really into running since COVID and that's pretty much my favorite topic of discussion (running, not COVID). Had between 15 and 20 Miller Lites over the course of a three-night span here in late June 2026. This place is like Outback Steakhouse in the "no rules, just right" type of way. I do not believe they serve food here but did see bartenders making microwavable popcorn on request to several patrons. So this place is designed with a three-room set-up. You walk in and it's a square carpeted room that can be used for live music. Then you reach the bar area, then there are pool tables. There seemed to be an area behind the pool tables but I was too afraid to go back there. Now in terms of bar design, I would have led with the bar but that's just me and I'm sure the architects (possibly Mike Brady from "The Brady Bunch") knew what they were doing. I tend to trust professionals, apart from what our public health "experts" did to us during the forementioned COVID. This bar is cash only. That's probably in other reviews. Also, if you have AT&T cell service, good luck. There's no service so you can't look up scores and check Instagram. And now you're thinking, "what about the wifi?" C'mon bro, be serious. I love this bar. They have four different TVs in the main bar area that range from 19 to 45 inches. All are on different setups. Antenna, YouTubeTV, etc. The staff is fantastic. Patrick and Katie were my two favorites. Entertaining and straight out of bartending central casting. It's a dive bar that never had to try to be a dive bar. You'll read other reviews on this place and they are super granular or longwinded or whatever. Don't pay attention to those bozos. This place is strictly vibes. Did I mention the dropped ceilings have art paintings on them? One even has a Pontiac painted on it. Hell yeah, Michigan. Don't fret, they have umbrellas on every outdoor table in case you're worried about being exposed to too much elements! Our waitress came over quickly and took our drink orders. I had the strawberry summer spritz which was a little more tart than I expected but it was a good summer cocktail. My husband had some sort of pear smash which he said tasted like pears and was good. I had the new item on their menu which was the lobster and shrimp roll and instead of the chips, I ordered some truffle fries ($3) with my meal. My husband had the chicken sandwich and subbed the chips with fries ($2). Outside of all the extra charges, I think this place was pretty great. Our food were both excellent and our drinks were tasty. We ordered another round after. I am just having a hard time understanding why the fries carried an extra charge. I get the truffle fries being extra but regular fries substitution seemed a bit much but okay. This is our second time being here. I was obviously not phased regarding the extra charges from a few years back but I honestly cannot remember if this was the case or not. Anyway, great food, good drinks, and a waterfront scene. You cannot beat that!
