I swore I'd never come back after my last two visits, but my friends wanted to stop in for a couple of beers, so I went along against my better judgment. On a previous visit, I overheard an employee telling a regular that there was a dead mouse behind the bar and that it wasn't being taken care of. Whether that was true or not, hearing employees say things like that about their own workplace completely turned me off. Unfortunately, this visit wasn't any better. The service was terrible from the moment we sat down. The employees were inattentive, unfriendly, and came across as rude. It was a complete contrast to the staff that used to work here, who were always welcoming, attentive, and made customers feel appreciated. It's disappointing to see how much this place has gone downhill. Between the poor service and the overall atmosphere, I have no reason to come back. We enjoy Parrott's, they have a pretty large menu of food that goes beyond typical bar greasy food. My hubby's favorite is their home made chicken fried steak and mashed potato, he is willing to drive quite a distance on a regular basis to eat the chicken fried steak. There was a time about 6 month ago that it took a really long time for the food once an order was placed, however that has really changed and the kitchen definitely is able to keep up, even when Parrots is busy. It's a typical sports bar with typical service to serve alcohol, they often miss to refill my "DD" water glass (lol) The place is loud, they have concrete floors and always either have music or sports games on, so if you're looking for a quiet place to have dinner and chat, this isn't it . We wanted to like this place SO bad, wanted to support a local business but this is some of the worst service in restaurant history, I've never seen anything so pathetic. 32 minutes sitting at a table before we were approached for a drink order (despite waving a server down multiple times). Finally got our drinks but ordering food is a completely different issue. We sat for 55, FIFTY FIVE minutes at the table trying to get food service. We finally left. This is laughable. I spent half a day here watching football and having some drinks. The atmosphere was a little lacking as they weren't super busy but the staff is really friendly and helpful with selections. I had some wings with my drinks. They are hearty and have good heat levels. I also had some of their kettle chips. They didn't have a great flavor and were a bit undercooked. You have to wait for the Lion's bartender to stop talking to her girl friends and then you may be able to get servuce, Sad, this place used to have great service. I'm writing this review to update everyone on parrots and in particular, the wings.. My previous review is pretty scalding and at the time was valid. But, in the same fairness, they have really stepped up their wing game and it deserves note. Tonight, my wings were cooked perfectly, pleasantly plump and meaty, sauced right, and down right delicious. Kudos deserved and given. Walked in at 1:30 on a Monday afternoon and was ignored by the sole bartender/server after she made eye contact with me multiple times. It was extremely slow but she checked in with all of her other tables before addressing me a few minutes later and seemed confused by my presence. I asked her if I could order food to go and her reluctantness heightened and she said their food was in short supply so it was dependant on what I ordered, which was an order of wings and a side salad. I've been to this place several times and have had mixed experiences. A table of 9 last night we all ordered one drink and the off going bartender asked us to close out with him. No problem we all did and tipped him as well. The next bartender/waitress began serving us. With about half the room full (not really a busy time) the waitress took the food order for 3 of the 9 of us and then walked off. I went up to her to order my food. Well the trend of her taking care of one or two people and walking away kept up through the night. We were having to go to the bar to order our drinks all night. The waitress then told us to "track her down to order drinks" I'm sorry but my job isn't to track down wait staff who should be coming to the table. Once I paid my tab I did not tip her very well because the service was horrendous. I was then confronted by the off going bartender from when we first got there about my tip. It's funny he asked us to tan out with him and he stayed all night drinking and confronted me after he had several drinks. I explained to him why the tip was low and then was confronted by the manager who I also explained my issues to. She then tried telling me that the waitress was going to have to pay the government because she didn't get a good enough tip. My advice to the establishment is train them properly or don't schedule them on a weekend. read more

I had just helping my daughters family move and we needed a place to go to get dinner. I didn't know the area so I found this place on Yelp. Portions were great, many selections very good. This isn't your average bar menu. The service was excellent. I had my wife, daughter and her ten month old and 4 year old granddaughter with us. We had a great dinner and a to go for my son in law. We went thee last night. Very disappointed!! The food was good but the service stank! Our waitperson was horrible!! We only gave her a 10% tip because I won't go lower. She really should have got a penny tip. It seemed like she was more interested in talking to people who seemed like regulars, and the ladies at the bar. Rather than providing good customer service. It's not like the place was busy. It took forever for her to take our order and I actually had to get up and go to the bar to finally get her to take our payment. I really want to give it 3.5 stars. 4 stars for their smoked but still *actually* crispy wings. I'm not sure how they managed that. Every time I can taste the smoke on the wing I expect it to be slimy, and these definitely were not. The wings were also large, so I didn't feel like I was getting ripped off at $1.10 per wing. Their firehouse sauce is a bit less spicy than Frank's Red Hot, but the flavor stays with you a very long time. The only negative was that the wings were a bit dry on the inside. The 3 star part of the review was for Alabama pulled pork sandwich, which was not bad but not particularly. The pulled pork was extremely dry and tasted more like a pot roast than smoked pork. The space was larger than I expected, with about 9 TVs, darts, and 2 small pool tables. The service was good, as well as the beer selection for beer snobs like me. If you're looking for a traditional sports bar, this place hits the nail on the head. read more

Horribly mismanaged. Not a sports bar. Refused to put sound an a major NCAAF game cause a drunk couple at the bar(owners?) said no- they rather listen to music. The drunk wife literally yelled at customers for asking for sound on the game- saying go home if you wanna listen to the game and the bartender just did what she said, unreal. Depending on the day and time you go it is a real it or miss. Also, depending on what your reason for eating out... To drink, nibble on food while you watch a game... Good choice but if it's busy it may take a while to get food/drinks. There never seems to be enough wait staff on hand. Burgers are the only thing I suggest. It is hard for someone to mess up a burger and fries. Remember it is a sports bar so not the top quality burger... But tasty enough. Drinks- stick to beer or whatever they have in a can. Bartenders never get the mixed drinks right. The more I think of the place the less I like it, but I feel the need to support it because it is local. The meat is perfectly smoked, the slaw topping & fresh the french fries that came with it were terrific. I could only finish 1/2 of the wrap it was so filling. We stopped by on the 4th of July. They were minimally staffed (not surprised) and the service was lacking. The food itself was pretty good. I got the Alabama Nachos which were decent. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich. It wasn't the cleanest of restaurants and I'm undecided on whether we'll be back. Definitely more pros than cons. read more

The only reason I'm giving this place four stars is the fact that it seems as if there's an identity crisis going on. I understand it's a family establishment but it's a sports bar, one of those areas where you kind of need to pick and choose what you wanna be. Now as far as the service goes, I've never had bad service here. The bartenders are always very friendly and definitely know how to pour a good drink and bet your ass you won't have to wait long for a refill of your chosen libation. On to the grub. The food is stellar, they smoke all of their own meats back behind the bar and it's phenomenal, they have a white BBQ sauce that's to die for, it's great on everything and I can't get enough of it, try the BBQ nachos ;) you won't go home hungry. Soooooooo, went here tonight for the first time. It's slim pickin's For a place to got in the Fort Lupton/Dacono area, so I had hopes that this was a place I could add to my list when the wife and I don't want to head to Denver or Fort Collins. Fair selection of whiskeys, the waitress was super nice, food was okay albeit a little bland, but nothing a little salt and pepper couldn't fix. Then before leaving I went in to shed a little "water weight". CHEESE AND RICE!! The men's room was freaking tire store/ mechanic shop filthy! Look, I get that this is a sports bar and not a five star restaurant, but COME ON!! Dirt streaks under the soap dispenser, towel dispenser, and some unidentifiable mass of muck wiped on the wall head high to the right of the mirror. I thought well maybe some of the dirt is permanent stain to I wet a paper towel and EASILY wiped off the caked on filth from the soap and towel dispenser and some of the wall. I will NEVER eat here again. If a restaurant doesn't take care of cleanliness issues that their customers CAN see then they aren't going to take care of issues that customers can't see. I think I will call the health department on Monday and request a public heath inspection. It was that disgusting. Wish I would have thought to take a pic.
