Service was great, very friendly and checked in often to refill drinks and make sure we had everything we needed. Overall a great spot for the small town of Frederick with a good vibe! This place is small, noisy and packed with people...that's a good thing! It's a cozy diner with a small town feel and very friendly servers. My mom had a roast beef sandwich and I had the devil huevos rancheros. The jalepenos, chorizo and chile pack a fantastic spicy punch. Overall a fun place and we'll go back. One word of advice: don't go close to closing. They start cleaning and the smell of disinfectant is very strong. read more

The acoustics are good enough to enjoy a conversation at your own table w/o being too distracted. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros. The food was made to order, but we had it w/n about 10-15 mins. The green chili, beans, eggs, tortillas, and hash browns were a solid team that formed a solid Huevos Rancheros. The star was definitely the green chili which was loaded with flavor. Though I've been a fan of Gabe's since moving to Frederick almost three years ago, their take-out breakfast burritos that they so proudly advertise on the front window are now laughable. I've gotten them before and they've been decent. But, not joking - see what you get, below, for $5. I even went back to verify - the very polite hostess advised that's the take-out burrito size (I didn't want a refund or anything; I just wanted to know if there'd been a mistake). If this is a cost saving measure for better margins on take-out burritos, Gabe's may be best to get out of the takeout game since this just pisses off loyal, usually sit-down customers. For a take-out breakfast burrito, you're better off going to Santiago's for $3.60 or a food truck for $6 (both not far off from Tipple and Colorado). For full clarity, the staff is always very friendly, welcoming, and professional. The food options on the rest of the menu are still great. read more

this is my first time going here! i thought gabes was just a tiny little place like bashs that just sold like 3 things but no, its really good. Really close to my home and absolutely amazing food. the service only consisted of long waits and such but i dont blame them, only a couple waitresses and a lot of tables and requests. it was also really noisy but i dont really care much, not only that but the food made up for it anyway. they use real eggs unlike chain breakfast resturaunts, the sausages were delicious and the french toast were just amazing and really good. the wait also was not long at all. i didnt take a photo of the burrito my mom got but it was giant. we are planning on coming again :3, delicious!! plz come here and try it out read more

Came in this evening and stood at the door for 15 minutes until I was asked to sit at the bar. Five minutes later I asked for a menu and a glass of water from a server.. After waiting 10 minutes I left. Never received a glass of water nor a menu. I don't care how good the food is if you can't give me a menu or glass of water after 15 minutes then you definitely are not going to get my business. Customer service is top notch here there's no doubt about it. But food wise I found it lacking. I had the eggs benedict and my husband had the country benedict (basically biscuits and gravy with sausage) All of the food came out warm, and my breakfast potatoes were soggy. My hollandaise sauce tasted like it came out of a package so did my husbands sausage (like frozen Walmart patties). Eggs looked like they were put in a cup and microwaved. They were also overcooked. The sauce and gravy were blandish and for over 10$ a plate I don't think it was worth it. But we're all about supporting small business so we will maybe come back for a second chance. After hearing about a breakfast place called snooze we went to check it out, we were told there was a 1.30 hour wait for a table, after hearing that and then seeing the horrible reviews about the food and prices we decided to venture elsewhere. I thank god, my fiancés mom, Russle Wilson, & the great state of Colorado for us finding "GABES CAFE"! We were immediately seated as the whole place was packed but two tables, super friendly service and down south feeling hospitality from the amazing waitress "AUBRI" make sure to ask for her if she has a table available! Please make sure to treat yourself to some of Colorado's best breakfast we have ever had the pleasure to experience! One egg was undercooked, the other was overcooked. The sauce wasn't good. Two options for the side; potatoes or potatoes. When I said that I don't like potatoes, my other option was to have NO side. It came with no bacon at all and a brick worth of cheddar cheese. My husband ordered an omelette with the works and it came with tons of toppings and he said it was delicious! The staff quickly seated us and took our drink orders. They were a little busy for mid-morning on a Friday-but our server came over provided great recommendations and our order was quickly placed. Food took a minute but nothing that was unreasonable. We opted for Country Gravy aka Sausage Gravy over Biscuits, Breakfast Tacos and Denver Omelette.
