Dr Sato Review From…read morethe moment I met Dr. Erika Sato I knew she was the surgeon for me. I had done extensive research over the years on tummy tucks and had consulted with a few other surgeons previously... but not one came close to making me feel 100% comfortable as she did. Dr. Sato is real and transparent; beautifully blunt, as I like to call it. She probes you to ask questions and gives you answers questions you didn't even know you had. When she says "Ok, what else..." you know that she wants to give you all of the knowledge you need or desire before surgery. I respected that immensely then and throughout these first 6 weeks of recovery. Her bedside manner is outstanding and her nursing staff is incredible (special kudos to Savannah at My Houston Surgeons). If I email her directly or text a question during recovery, she answers almost immediately. This is so important during recovery for support and ease of mind, especially the first two weeks. Dr. Sato has been very accurate in the projected recovery timeline, as you go through the many phases. She's always there to reassure you that bloating is normal, or to address any concern with scar healing/medications. I had lost over 70lbs over the years and wanted to be able to see my hard work, but could not with the extra skin I had. I lift and workout 6 days a week for YEARS, with a coach... I had tried CoolSculpting earlier this year with minimal results, because you cannot remove skin. Dr. Sato made it possible for me to have my "dream body" that I've worked for 12 years for, and for that, I will be forever grateful. What I had done: Full tummy tuck, liposuction to the upper and lower abs and mons with fat grafting to my boobs (230CCs each). I believe 15 sq in of skin was removed. These photos are one week PRE-OP and 6 weeks POST-OP. I look forward to my next follow ups and to see the new changes every week for the next few months of recovery. I could not have asked for a better surgeon and experience and will refer anyone and everyone considering plastic surgery to Dr. Sato.

I have been wanting to try Platelet-Rich Plasma therapy for a few thin spots that have appeared in my hair. Dr. Barrera spent a lot of time discussing the procedure with me, including showing me before and after pictures of his patients who have undergone the procedure. Dr. Barrera then personally drew the blood for the procedure as well as doing the injections in my scalp. He numbed my head before doing the injections, and the procedure was painless. His bedside manner is very good and his fees are reasonable. It's obviously too early to know whether the PRP treatment will be effective for me, but I decided it was worth a shot before I go for hair transplants. Dr. Barrera and I discussed hair transplants and other procedures that I asked about, and was very open in discussing options and costs. I was very favorably impressed by my visit, and highly recommend him.

Communication was excellent. Once at Dr. P's office, I met Eva, the physician's coordinator. She interviewed me and answered the many questions that I had. Then Dr. P. Visited with me and my spouse at length. He personally took the "before" pictures and spent considerable time with me explaining everything about the procedure. Then it was back to Eva who detailed the options and pricing. I left the office with no pressure whatsoever, which I liked. I was very impressed with Eva. Eva contacted me for a followup and I decided to use Dr. Patronella for the procedure. His pricing was on-point with the other surgeons' estimates, but I decided to use him based on my gut feeling, coupled with his credentials and experience. I am glad in retrospect that I made this decision. I went in for my pre-op visit, which was covered by his estimate. There I received a very nice large tote bag containing various vitamins, medical supplies, a pillow, and many other items for post-surgery. The actual day of surgery was in the medical building's surgical suite. Five nurses worked there and an anesthesiologist was there throughout the procedure, rather than a nurse practitioner. I was also scheduled for a day-after home visit by a nurse, something I didn't expect, but that was all included as no extra cost as part of the package. All post-op Dr visits are also included. There were no surprise "extra" fees tacked on at the end of the process, completely turn-key

So you need to know that when you go to his office you're a sheep if you go in you're just one of his 20 bless or one of his 20 little small procedures per week so he can make his million probably 2 million by now but you're nothing to this man I've never been spoken to ever ever ever ever ever like I was spoken to by this weird man and the bad thing is I also travel about 2 hours to see him! She has always been so…read morebubbly and friendly, great bedside manner, informative, and I thought we had a great working relationship. I had planned on doing 4 procedures, which totaled $37,300 in 2 weeks. Initially, I was assured, even prior to booking the first consult that there would be no problem in filling out short term leave for work and that I could have more consults if I had any questions. The first consult went well, but after I did have initial questions, so I scheduled a second - about a couple weeks later, which also went well. I felt like she understood what I was looking for and we were completely aligned. I was excited and looking forward to getting the paperwork done. Fast forward to today, I went into complete pre-op paperwork and was specifically asked to come in the AM and come earlier then original time, I agreed. I was there exactly at my appointment time and brought my family with me. As I sat there, time went by and I asked the ladies in the front how much longer as I needed to get back to work, I was called 40 minutes after my appointment. I wasn't happy about this and did express it to the staff but needed to get the paperwork done and ask a few more questions to Dr. Hustak. The medical assistants were nice and said the Dr. wanted to talk to me prior to signing, so I said ok. Dr. Hustak came in like a storm, sat down and started to share how concerned she was regarding what had happened. It felt like a mom scolding a child. I listened and shared my perspective, she was very emotional and upset, went on to gaslight me by saying I created a "toxic work environment" by expressing upset about the wait. She then started to revisit items, that before - we discussed and she was fine, but now she suddenly had concerns. We went over everything and had a decent conversation, but it almost felt like I was testifying and being attacked at the same time. The previous bubbly and friendly doctor turned into this angry person and showed her true colors. She may be a board-certified plastic surgeon, but she has a temper, low emotional intelligence and a fragile ego that was easily broken by a patient expressing discontentment about the 40 min wait. She offered a refund of the deposit, if I changed my mind even after signing the paperwork. Even after she left, I did not feel good about the situation and did not sign the paperwork, I let the assistants know I would have to think it over. We were about to leave, when the CEO Karen came in and asked, "how can I help you?" We didn't ask for her nor were expecting her, but her tone came across like we had done something wrong. Amy her Healthcare Coordinator was completely different too, she went from friendly, to like we had committed some crime and avoided eye contact. I ended up paying for the consult and getting a refund for the deposit in full as it felt like this was not a good fit for a mutual collaborative exchange. I left there shocked, completely in awe of the extreme change, and counted my blessings to God because the last thing I need is a doctor with a huge EGO and ANGER MGT issues operating on me. So, in a nutshell, if you stand up and advocate for yourself, ask questions/share concerns, they take it personal and WILL GANG UP ON YOU. They will GASLIGHT YOU, they will completely CHANGE. It is one thing to research a surgeon who may have the skills, certification, memberships, etc... but always remember the bedside manner and how they treat you when something goes wrong is the true character of the person under all the degrees.

In my consultation for a tummy tuck, he confirmed what I knew: my stomach, three kids later, no matter how much I worked out, would not be flat without an abdominoplasty, all the while acknowledging that I was not overweight and somewhat thin. I was also very athletic at the time of my consult in April 2022, and 51. From that moment on, I was given the best care and concern from Dr. Fortes and his staff, with major obstacles we had to overcome with the lab work and communication between my PCP, the lab, the anesthesiologist, and Dr. Fortes. I wasn't approved until 12 hours before my procedure, but his staff was determined and always available. Post-op, I was very afraid of jeopardizing his work and myself, since I had previously a bad experience with one of my C-sections in which the incision came open from a sudden move. Dr. Fortes was very patient and aware of my fears, and the results were worth gold. I am so pleased, and would highly suggest anyone who is unsure if they are a candidate for a tummy tuck, to see Dr. Fortes. Actually, anyone seeking a tummy tuck and/or lipo should definitely visit ACPS and Dr. Fortes!

Pretty sick to keep such an amount for a Dr that is so far booked out no ? I believe that the surgeons themselves are extremely talented in what they do but as far as ethics and customer care they are lacking . I was set to have surgery here - booked 2 years in advance ( because that was the soonest available appt ) after that initial consultation I never met or saw Dr.Roehl again . I went in for my pre op - 2 years later , and left just super unsure if the procedure was still what I wanted ( 30 days out ) I've paid 100% in full ( a large sum ) . I called for reassurance and was told " it'll change your life " . I asked if meeting with the surgeon again was an option to ease some of my concerns and was told she didn't have the availability. I then started to have DAILY panic attacks . I didn't want to lose 10k ( if you cancel 30 days or less from surgery they keep 50% of the surgery fee * NO EXCEPTIONS * bc your 2k non refundable deposit isn't enough - but I also didn't want to go through this huge procedure I was unsure of . This office is super successful, clearly booking so far in advance they aren't lacking clientele. I would expect to be treated as more than just a $$$ from people in this profession.
