Dr. Barrera then personally drew the blood for the procedure as well as doing the injections in my scalp. He numbed my head before doing the injections, and the procedure was painless. His bedside manner is very good and his fees are reasonable. My review concerns their scheduling policy. I find it to be highly unethical. I was told that if I wanted to get a consultation and surgery within the year, I had to put down a nonrefundable 10% of the cost of surgery. So, you are forcing me to commit to a very invasive, risky, and expensive surgery without ever having informed consent from the surgeon, whom I have never met? I think people who are seeking information about serious surgical body modifications should be able to make decisions concerning these things after meeting the person who will be permanently modifying their body. A consultation is not only about informed consent. It is also when the patient gets to meet the surgeon and determine if this is the person they want to perform their surgery with. And what if I decide to do no surgery based on the information I am given? People should not feel forced to make decisions like this uninformed and on the spot. What if I decided to go with a different surgeon? So that means I lose $3k? Also, I have no idea precisely what I need because I rely on the surgeon's expertise. When I spoke to the woman to give me a quote, I was guessing which procedures I needed. Anyhow, personally, this is a major RED FLAG. I believe it to be completely unethical and exploitative. I think charging a no-show fee for those who don't attend consultations is warranted. But forcing people to put down payments on serious surgeries without information about the pros and cons and never meeting the surgeon makes me question the character and ethics of this doctor.

The first time I was in Dr Paul Fortes' office was with my aunt. I was dropping her off for a face lift. From the moment we walked in to the office Dr. Fortes and his staff were very professional and accommodating. My aunt was in the recovery area for the night and she told me that the nurses that were there took very good care of her. My aunt looked amazing afterwards! Seeing the way my aunt was treated I made an appointment for myself for tattoo removal. Once again, from the moment I made my appointment and had my consultation Dr. Fortes and his staff were amazing! Dr. Fortes answered all my questions and explained everything very well. I've even recommended Dr. Fortes to my ex-husband's wife for a breast reduction. When I came down several years ago for my 30th high school reunion, I had my first Botox treatment from Dr. Fortes. OMG, what a difference it made! Since then, I've traveled to Houston at least annually for my "Botox Run", and have always been pleased. Dr. Paul Fortes, is both incredibly professional and personable. Each procedure and/or treatment was virtually flawless (no pain, bruising, redness, etc.). Upon arrival of each appointment/visit I was met with warmth and kindness from both Dr. Fortes as well as his staff. Unlike many other doctors, regardless of practice, he never once made me feel rushed or like I was a number. Upon departure Dr. Fortes and his staff made sure that should I have any questions or concerns, their door and/or phone line was always open. I wouldnt trust another doctor! After having 2 children I wanted to do a "mommy make over." I vistied Dr Fortes' office 3 different times before I finally scheduled my procedure. Not once did he charge me a fee. He was extremly patient with me and wanted me to feel comfortable with what we were planning on doing. I had my surgery and couldnt be happier with the results. It has been a complete NIGHTMARE!!…read more I just turned 42 years old, and it seemed like I had been defeated by this medical anomaly and reminded of it daily--Gynecomastia. As I sat back in my office three days after my birthday, I decided that was it; it was time to put an end to the frustration, the self-consciousness and barrier to a better quality of life. I had done the hard work, 4am workouts, plant-based diet, no booze or smoke; all it did was make the problem more pronounced. On that Monday I continued previous research for the surgeon that would best fit me. I found two: one of them Dr. Vitenas; the other, well that doesn't matter now. In inquired online. That morning, I got a call from the heavens, it seems; it was Javier. After telling him my story, he empathized and asked for some photos so that he could consult with Dr. Vitenas. I did and he did, because he asked me to come in that afternoon for a consultation with Dr. Vitenas. I had vacation planned and that fell through so the timing was perfect; as if the seas had opened up-- but it gets better. I arrive at the state-of-the-art facility which houses Dr. Vitenas operating room (OR) (let me tell you that OR is top notch!). The details matter, especially with any medical procedure where sharp objects are involved. The details are evident as I was greeted (first my Melanie on the 1st fl. Beauty Boutique) by Gary, who knew who I was and what I was there for. I finally met Javier in person and he seemed just as excited for me as I was to potentially get this procedure done. He informed me that some magic might have been a brewing because a cancellation had just come in. I met with Dr. Vitenas and without words, he seemed to already know the struggle I was living with and how he could help make this a turning point in my life. I was all-in. I discussed details with Javier and he revealed the opportunity of a lifetime; I could have the surgery the next day if I decided to proceed. And you bet I did. Next came the nurse consult with pre and post-op instructions. I met with Courtney who was also excited for me. She appeared youthful, but you could tell she could do this in her sleep, so the trust carried through to the staff I met that day. This is crucial because I must believe that I will be able to get back to work in a timely manner-- no work no pay in my profession. Fast forward-- I followed the instructions, got the surgery and I was back at work 2 days later and full tilt at the gym 3 weeks after. I left the tape on for that long and wore compression all day and night, I rested, ate well and I could not be more satisfied with the results. Dr. V is a pro. He cares about his product, and he most certainly delivers. If you're looking for surgeon who treats your results as a reflection of his work and passion, Dr Vitenas is your guy.

The receptionist was rude and unprofessional, and the injector showed no care or compassion during the procedure. What shocked me the most is that I was not offered any numbing or comfort options at all. The procedure was extremely painful, and no one made any effort to make me feel comfortable or explain what they were doing. I came in as a paying client and was treated as if I was getting a free service. This is not okay. When you pay this amount of money, you expect respect, professionalism, and basic care. Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this place.
