I went there for an evening event: Christmas in Killarney--they had cancelled last year, so it was nice to see them on the list for the holidays. JCCC brings in such amazing artists and people and this was no exception. Although one guy had mic issues he carried on like the professional he was and things went well. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting--I was thinking just a musical performance by a random group--but it was a musical. It was enjoyable--my foot was tapping and my hands were clapping so I must've had a good time! ;)

We recently started my daughter in one of the classes here. It's a pretty big school. They…read moreoccupy one whole side of a building. They span over about 6 spaces in the center on that one side. The staff and volunteers are so nice. My daughter enjoys her instructor, Ms Missy. They prorate your tuition if you get in after they've begun. You can even try a class to see if you like it before you enroll. They discourage parents hanging around and potentially distracting the class (with younger kids) but our night class has been great thus far. Since it's dark out, the kids can't really see the parents outside. They start my daughter's class off with tap shoes and then change over to ballet on the latter part of the class. Price is about par with other places around town but we chose it based on longevity and experience.

They have all the instruments so anything your kiddo likes they can try. The instructors are mostly previous students who are still "young and cool" so they have a great connection with the younger crowd. One on one music lessons are available and or join the school band that is tailored to their age group. They play in shows and practice together regularly to form lasting friendships with their band mates. Everyone who works here is fantastic and very musically inclined and knowledgeable. We finally feel like we've found our music home for lessons and all around musical enjoyment. Seen the movie? Yeah, this place is even better. Try it out, you won't be disappointed.

Price can get a little steep, but if you can afford it, it's one of the best places we've been for music lessons. The staff is amazing and welcoming. Kyle was terrific with the kids and would always stop to talk music with me when he could. Jeremy is extremely helpful with anything you need and would answer all my questions about drum tech, even helping us find a good deal on an electric kit for our son to practice on at home. Hopefully one day, we will be able to start lessons here again.

I'm a total 'Forever Plaid' groupie. I fell in love with this show as a teenager and have seen it…read moreseveral times since, all over the US. A few years ago it was on at the New Theatre in KC. I happily went and was thrilled that it was being staged again here recently, at the indoor theater inside the newly renovated, gorgeous Johnson County Heritage Center, which by itself is a must-do in KC. I was a bit nervous because the actors/singers in this version were all teenagers, not professionals. But oh my goodness I should not have been worried- they were INCREDIBLE!!! The show is a master class in beautiful 1950's style 4-part harmony, and these young men were so impressive. Definitely one of the best versions of the show that I've seen!! I went on the last day of the run, and I wish I'd gone earlier so I could've seen it again. This was my first time seeing a show at this venue, but I'll definitely be back for more. The theater is small, about the size of KC Musical Heritage Society (I think that's what it's called???) at Crown Center, but the chairs are very comfortable and we didn't feel crowded at all. There's not a bad seat in the house.

You can take an genre of dance like jazz, hip hop, ballet, etc. The teacher care for you and your body. If your hurt they'll understand and help you. This place is overall a beautiful amazing community of teacher and students. I have made so many friends over the years it unbelievable. I highly recommend going here if your in the area.
