Well worth the cost. Ease of getting an appointment, consistency of who you see, top rate doctors and staff.

I gave one star only because there isn't an option for zero…read more Family Practice Associates was my primary care provider for the past six years--and prior to that, I was a patient there for another seven years. Unfortunately, my most recent experience ended that relationship. During a recent visit with a PA (whom I was seeing for the first time), he relied on lab results that were over 15 months old to conclude that I needed to be placed on a statin and switched to a different blood pressure medication. What was particularly concerning was the complete lack of a measured, evidence-based approach. A reasonable starting point would have been: "Your last labs showed elevated cholesterol--let's order updated labs to see where things stand today and then discuss next steps." Instead, the conclusion was immediate: I should begin a statin. For context, I scheduled the appointment simply to refill my blood pressure medication and request updated labs to evaluate several health markers I've been actively working to improve over the past year. Without asking how my current medication was working, the PA stated he wanted to switch me off Losartan--apparently unaware that another physician in the same practice had already adjusted my medication two years ago with excellent results and zero side effects. When I pointed out that the lab data was outdated and that I preferred to obtain current labs before making medication changes--particularly starting a statin--I was subsequently dismissed as a patient. Not for nonpayment, not for disruptive behavior, but for questioning a recommendation and asking for updated clinical data. Professionalism: none. Bedside manner: unacceptable. A special acknowledgment goes to the "Practice Manager" for finalizing what was already set in motion. The approach to patient care, clinical judgment, and basic professionalism here is deeply lacking. There are far better providers in the area worthy of a patient's trust and investment.

We are very fortunate to have a physician both with a MD degree and a Functional Medicine degree, he integrates both of them and approaches illness & chronic disease in a completely different way. I have an auto-immune disease and after seeing so many doctors in different practices who only prescribed me so many medicines... I'm so happy I finally found help with Dr. Hartman! He is brilliant and so caring...he wants to find the root cause of your illness so you can go into remission. He has completly educated me on how lifestyle, diet and stress management has everything to do with chronic illness. He brings all the latest technologies that I see written up in major medical facilities across the country.

RIFM has provided quality care for my complex conditions (POTS, MCAS, hyper mobility) and I feel…read moreextremely lucky to be a patient of theirs. I have been dismissed by many doctors who thought my symptoms were just anxiety. After many years and seeing many doctors I was finally diagnosed with POTS. I thought the hard part was over, but I was wrong. Finding a doctor who wants to treat POTS is even harder. Dr. Hartman doesn't shy away from hard. I've seen Dr. Hartman for many years and he is one of the smartest doctors I've ever come across. He listens, understands, and partners with you to come up with solutions to help manage my conditions. He has run tests that most doctors don't that have uncovered causes of some of my symptoms. He is constantly learning new information, thinks outside the box, and shares this knowledge with his patients. Not only have I had such positive experiences with Dr. Hartman, but I have had positive experiences with both of his nurse practitioners Jodi Caddell and Veronica Porterfield. Recently, Ms. Porterfield saw me for an illness and possible tick bite infection and she spent so much time with me and followed up with me when I was having issues and questions, even calling me on her personal time on a Sunday night. Never have I felt more cared for. I have not seen Dr. Jenski but know people who do see him and have just as amazing things to say about him. RIFM is filled with providers who truly care about you and want to help you find solutions to feel your best. Don't hesitate to join this practice - you won't regret it!

Have used various providers at this location - they mention they will be following up with a call to go over blood work and never indeed follow-up. Inside the portal, the communication is a one way street meaning that once you receive a message, it is impossible to use the portal to reply back to any providers as your replys are ignored. It is like pulling teeth to get any results back and follow-up. Not a place I would recommend and even if you meticulously remind the providers to follow-up, results may vary...

I called to make an appointment thinking maybe I would get one in a week or so and upon asking for first available... to my surprise she said "Today at 4:00." The one I just saw is new her name is Maddie. She was friendly and took time to explain some concerns I had. I made another appointment with her for a Physical. The waiting area is spacious (social distance if needed) and clean. The front staff to check you in is efficient and quick. Always a good thing if you're not feeling yourself.

I wish zero stars was an option. WARNING TO ALL PARENTS, DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD TO THIS MONSTER!…read moreRude, short tempered, bad attitude, and disinterested in your child. I took my teenager to see this horrible woman as I am desperate for help, as he has been experiencing severe depression caused by his shyness and learning disabilities. This disgusting "doctor" did not look at my son, speak to my son, nor touch my son, despite it being his first well child visit/exam to establish care. The moment she learned I refused to give mim dangerous anti-depressants, nor vaccinate him, her demeanor became even worse, causing us all to feel very uncomfortable, as if she wanted nothing to do with us. She has TERRIBLE bedside manners and made us all feel stupid, as if we were nothing but a waste of her time. Had she cared and shown interest, she would have learned that I refuse to vaccinate my child because all of our problems began at a well baby visit 15 years ago when I ignorantly agreed to get my child either his DTAP or MMR vaccine (cant recall which it was) and from the moment we left the office my baby started shrieking. He shrieked and cried for over 3 days straight and we have since learned this is due to brain swelling caused by a bad reaction to the vaccine he received. So, as a mom with a vaccine injured child, it is my duty to shield him from any further exposure, but she did not care to listen nor help. I begged for genetic testing for the common gene mutations (MTHFR, COMT, etc...) that could cause lack of methylation and B Vitamin receptor issues that could cause sensitivity to vaccines, but she did not consider any of this and did not care to discuss, nor get the testing done that is required to try to diagnose these types of problems. I want my child to heal if at all possible, not just be given drugs or a temporary bandaid "fix". I want to get to the root of the problem, and assumed a good pediatrician would as well. Nope! Then to make matters worse, she said she was leaving the room to go get some paperwork, and then never returned, so we sat there and waited almost an hour thinking she would come back in! And outside the door I see an odd looking security guard staring at us, as if we were criminals!! Mind you. I had been crying at her sheer rudeness, but to call a security guard was way over the top and completely inappropriate! I had not raised my voice nor said or done anything that would necessitate a security guard to be called! These people treat you like a criminal if you do not sign up for all their drugs and vaccines, and they especially do not want you asking any questions or being educated about your own childs best interests. The nerve!! Spare yourselves the indignity of being ignored and humiliated by this "doctor". I cannot believe she is allowed to even see children, especially children with special needs. Shame on you Dr Vu!

Doctors Lorena and Kevin Harvey opened Physicians of Family Medicine over twenty years ago, at their Oxbridge office. I do not know the exact year, but I have been a very satisfied patient for over twenty years. I have been extremely happy with her husband (Dr. Kevin) as my primary care provider for most of those years. When he retired, I was worried about getting another primary care physician and tried his replacement, Dr. Marshall. I was not happy with him and was told I might like Dr. Lorena better. The office staff was correct and I have been very happy with Dr. Lorena Harvey. She has seen me through many rough times and I have a great respect for her. I have a hard time scheduling appointments around my work schedule and they are always willing to work around my schedule to be sure I get the great service I desire and need. She works out of their Cloverhill office located at 13861 Hull Street Road, Midlothian VA. 23112. It is not exactly on Hull Street Road so I do not know how they got this exact address, but it is across from Food Lion and Burger King just off of Hull street next to Outback Steakhouse. Also, a quick note that if she does not have an appointment available when you need one, there are a number of other doctors in the office that may be able to fir you in their schedules, and their Oxbridge office is open on Saturdays for walk-ins, no appointment necessary. Again, I am extremely fortunate to have her as my Primary Care Physician. Steven "Randy" Brooks
