This review is on the COFFEE ONLY. I bought a bag in a market in Williamsburg from our trip to take home because it was local and had all the right tasting notes we look for in espresso. We do a review vlog on YouTube (alatteshots) and tried it and it was delicious and rich! You can really taste all the flavors it says it has. The molasses really stood out to me because most espressos we get doesn't have that note. Austin didn't think so. Different tastes for different tounges. After reviewing their website, I thoroughly appreciate their values and what this coffee shop stands for and how they treat their products and community. This is definitely on my list to visit next time we are in the area to see how they treat their coffee in house. While my first impressions spoke differently, I am truly a fan of Toby's Estate in Williamsburg. It's a beautiful open space, with comfortable seating and a overall a good menu to accompany it. My first time I was there, I got the idea that it was a bit snooty and uppity. But I decided to give it another shot. I ordered a Soy Mocha and one of their sandwiches with rotisserie chicken. They use PayPal, so you can pay with your PayPal app on your phone if you have it installed and save $5.00 (may be for a limited time). The mocha was tasty, as was the sandwich. Nothing was amazing, but the staff was friendly and efficient, and the food and latte were just fine. They DO have free-wifi. They DO NOT have many outlets (I couldn't find any). They DO have many yummy sandwiches and pastries. I'm sure I'll be back whenever I'm in the neighborhood. Just wish they had more power outlets - maybe I'm missing them. read more

LATE POST. Used to travel all the way from NJ to enjoy this gem of a cafe early on Sunday mornings when it used to be Toby's. After the name change, the service, in our particular situation changed for the worse. We experienced pretty much border line harassment from a manager (or so he says) with red hair and seemed to play favorites after the two incidents we experienced. The first offense in which we were scoffed at for trying to ask something about the menu change came as a surprise, and when asked to speak to a manager of person in charge, he said he was the manager and there is no one else to speak to in a very demeaning tone that carried a hint of racism. The second incident with this same person happened two weeks after the initial encounter. Having pretty much the same situation happen about a coffee or a latte this time but then observed him being more "accommodating" to what seemed to be the local brooklynites who were of a lighter skin tone (we on the other hand are Asian). What finally set us off and vowed to never return, let alone purchase "Partners" coffee of any kind was as he was clearing out some tables, he happen to come by us and tell us there is a time limit as to how long we can occupy 2 seats so as to make room for other patrons. I can understand if we were there all day or even half a day NOT purchasing anything, but I was there with my wife finishing our lattes and 2 breakfast platters for about 35 minutes. We will never return to this establishment because of this ordeal, this situation occurred a few months back and I have NOT written this review because I figured "Karma is a b*tch". Well, I am writing it today because in the midst of this whole lockdown due to Coronavirus and workers being furloughed, I hope that red headed stepchild of a manager reads this. One of my go to coffee shops in the area. This place is large, clean, and has a fun/creative atmosphere. They specialize in coffee and have their own brand. I have tried both the ice coffee and hot coffee. Both were good and strong. They have a few food options, like 6. I have tried the Scrambled eggs and bacon sandwich and the Salmon sandwich. Both were fresh and tasty but on the smaller side for about $9-10 a pop. They have free wifi but no power outlets. Great place to hang out, read, and do some work. read more

I needed a place to hangout for for a few hours to wait for my friend to arrive from the airport and thankfully this place was close walking distance from my Airbnb! I got here around 7:30 in the morning and seats were filling up. All the private tables were taken and communal tables were slowly getting bodied up. Well, hello there no laptops table! Yes, I will take a seat! I got a flat white and a mini salmon roll bagel thing -- whoops! Forgot its name. The flat white wasn't bad! Although I did go to another coffee shop later on in the day and had another flat white which I did like better. The salmon breakfast roll I had was so good! Could've had two of them. So I don't live in Brooklyn/Williamsburg or come here often so when I was in the area and looking for a coffee shop to work at, I almost didn't come here. There are Toby's in Manhattan and I didn't take the train all the way here to go to another Toby's. Anyway, I didn't see any cafes with big enough working spaces nearby so I acquiesced and entered. It was a good decision. This location is so beautiful! With it's tall windows (and the super sunny day it was), the cafe was lit. Literally and also just you know, lit. I ordered and ice latte with had a good kick for lil 'ol me who usually doesn't drink much caffeine. There were surprisingly a lot of people here on a random weekday afternoon but I shared a table with someone for a few minutes before I snagged a spot on the couch. Coffee was good, not the best but good enough and prices were fair for the neighborhood (oat cappuccino $ 4.90). The space is beautiful although they're not offering indoor seating but there are a some tables outside. They offer decaf and oat and almond milk. As my previous review indicates, I have been coming here for at least 5 years, exactly. The reality is it has been longer, I am sure. Of course, it is one of the coolest looking coffee shops ever, and can be a fun place to hang out...I say "can be" because they don't make it comfortable to be here, which I believe is intentional, to keep people from squatting too much, something I can understand even if I don't like it. One wall is almost entirely windows, and although they have shades, on a remote control no less, they almost never close them. So on a clear day, the sun is oppressive--the light and the heat--and you will often see people wearing sunglasses inside. Similarly, the music is often very loud, and I have seen people with earplugs in. I literally see both sunglasses and earplugs right now! More importantly, the coffee is rarely great and never special. I have had incredible pour overs at one of there other locations, but at this one, all I have had is espresso drinks, cortados, which are usually meh. (A couple of months ago I had this El Falcon espresso which was awesome, but that was a rare treat here.) Today I had both of their espressos (in cortados), because the staff was kind enough to make me another drink when they realized I didn't love the first, but sadly I didn't love the second either. I do want to give them credit for bringing down the price of the featured espresso and holding the line on the price of other drinks for a while. If not for that, I wouldn't come in ever...well maybe once a summer for a black and white. Yogurt is good here too. read more

For this particular cafe This is a nice spot for coffee. Music is good as well as deco; recommended spot for a quick chat at any time of the day. Nonetheless, if you are planning to spend your time charging your phone or laptop....don't bother, not a lot of plugs, the only once we saw were for the coffee machine and the hidden one near the door. I love their acai bowl! The granola is always really nice and crunchy. I always tell them to put in extra banana in place of the cranberry and the servers are really good about customizing your orders. I always order a flat white when I come, and so far, I have not had a bad cup. Consistency is great! However, his is not a good place to sit and work all day because there are no electrical outlets. However, it's a great place to take a lunch break or catch up with friends, since the lighting is really nice and the inside is cozy. There is also free wifi. read more

Note: this space has been rebranded from Toby's to Partner's, although signs suggest they still have the same staff and products. I came in on a Monday afternoon. It was pretty busy and full of people working on laptops but there were stools here and there around the high tops. Nice sunny vibes and a well curated design. The music was noticeably very loud (although ambient enough that I was able to focus on my work). Be warned: there are 0 outlets in the main area. I ordered the 'big breakfast', which came with a bottomless mug of their house brew. Not too heavy or acidic, perfect! I asked if I could have a vegetable or even lettuce instead of the toast and handmade jam it typically comes with. The barista taking my order looked unsure and said she would "try" to request that. 4 stars because it came without toast or anything else even after I shelled out $19 with tax and tip which, in my opinion, is a little steep for coffee shop breakfast! read more

I came here with some friends when we were doing a day visit in Williamsburg. I love that Toby's Estate Coffee has a strong deep-rooted mission in maintaining sustainable practices and always considering environmental factors in every step of its production and practicing. The service here was wonderful. The barista recommended an oat milk latte to me, so I ordered a regular size of their oat milk latte. It was a lovely creamy taste with no sugar added, and I really enjoyed it. It was definitely comparable, if not slightly better, than the oat milk latte that I get back home at Ministry of Coffee. I would recommend getting your coffee from this place if you like having a decadent experience in a drink. read more

Came here to do work because I noticed the abundance of space in Yelp photos but had to leave early because I couldn't spot an electrical outlet to charge my dying laptop. However, this would be a great space to chat and catch up friends as it's beautifully lit and decorated. The coffee is strong and super tasty as well. Large coffee shop with plenty of seating and beautiful natural daylight in Williamsburg Brooklyn. They have your standard espresso menu such as lattes, mochas, cappuccino etc. They also have pour over coffee, cold brew. I just got my usual iced almond milk latte- really great creamy latte with strong espresso. No sweetener needed to taste great! They have almond and soy milk for their non dairy options. If I remember correctly they use Califia farms almond milk which is one of the best for coffee drinks! It was pretty busy in the store! Lots of people and probably have to wait ~5-10minutes for your drink. They weren't super duper friendly or anything because it just seemed like they were just churning out drinks. There is a large coffee roasting machine in the store which is pretty neat! I don't live in BK but if I'm in the area again I wouldn't mind coming back. There are lots of coffee shops in the area too and personally I don't know yet if this is the best in the area. But you can't really go wrong with Toby's Estate for a solid cuppa. read more

ATTENTION ATTENTION to all my California Philz coffee lovers! Toby's current seasonal drink is a MINT JULEP ESPRESSO which tastes very similar to Philz mint mojito!! It's not as creamy as Philz, but it's as close as I'm gonna get! When you're away from California for months at a time, and only get to savor coffee mint mojitos once a year.. you gotta take advantage of this Toby's special! I had an oat milk latte which was about $6.30, $7.30 with tip. The coffee is smooth and creamy. It has some bitterness which gives it the trademark coffee taste, but it's not overwhelming. This is a really good spot to study. There's a lot of seating and light. It's also pretty quiet. If you want a bag of beans it's about $22. read more

The Ethiopian pour over was phenomenal. A balanced cup with floral notes. It tasted better the more it cooled. The seasonal orange cardamom hot cocoa was also amazing. Comparable to an orange Swiss chocolate in hot cocoa form. There are real orange rinds that sink to the bottom of the cup leaving you an intense last sip. Service was good too! read more

I patronized the coffee shop on a Saturday, number of its customers awed me completely, there was literally no one seat is available and long queue in front of counter. Noise level of the shop is very high, restroom situation is an apocalypse, counter guy lack of any facial expressions, perhaps because of that number of customers. The shop has very stylish decor and huge windows lead natural daylight into the shop, which is much better than some coffee shop with yellow and dim lamplight that make me feel sleepy. Price is not cheap but reasonable due to this kind of area. The biggest downside is that the shop has no Wifi on weekends, I have had a cup of coffee in the shop turns out my phone's data ran out. read more
