My #1 croissant in all of NY! Paloma Bakery has some of the best baked goods and pastries in the area. I consider it a treat to visit any time I'm here. The butter croissant is truly the perfect example of a well done croissant. Light, buttery, crispy, and flaky. Every bite was fantastic. My next favorite is the black sesame pinwheel. Everything I love about a croissant except now with black sesame cream, which was sooo rich, luscious and not too sweet! The blueberry danish was a summer special, layered with fresh and sweet blueberries. The pistachio pain suisse was filled with nutty pistachio and the layers were super crispy and covered with syrup. This pastry is on the heavier end. Lastly, the matcha danish is the one I was most excited to try as a matcha lover. I was a little thrown off by the layer of chocolate beneath the matcha. But as I continued to eat it, the matcha ended up overpowering it, which is a plus to me! Staff here are friendly and always ready to recommend goods or to chat about your day. Paloma has a solid roster of pastries and they always have seasonal offerings too.
Food/drinks: tried only their pastries here including the matcha croissant, savory egg spinach pastry, and black sesame croissant! All very very good but the matcha one was okay, it was too sweet and dense for my personal taste Had a hard time choosing between all the options, will definitely come back Atmosphere: very cute! pretty good and definitely have some interesting savory croissants! went on a weekday morning but not too early and didn't have to wait much for coffee. the croissants were definitely heavier/denser but pretty well laminated!
A great bakery with so many fun options. The matcha croissant was super unique and I loved the layers within. The Wagyu croissant reminded me a Reuben. I would definitely get both a savory and sweet item here since both were awesome
First of all, their pastries are perfect and love they use Kettl matcha as well. Love that my croissants and pastries stayed flaky and crispy even after several days. I'll definitely be back to try their savory ones.
Paloma is so underrated! The wagyu croissant was surprisingly REALLY good, the croissant was so flaky and buttery (we had it warmed up). Who knew wagyu would taste good in a croissant? We also tried the fig & melon danish, it was not too sweet. I loved the cream and the fruity touch. They are a small store with very little seating. The staff was so friendly and helpful when we didn't know what to order. I definitely recommend a try!

This is one of these smaller (basically grab-and-go) spots. Out of all the croissants that I had in New York City, I have to say Paloma has probably some of the best savory croissants. Paloma has instantly earned a spot in my top 5 bakeries in NYC. The creativity and craftsmanship behind each pastry really shine. Pro tips: - Get there early if there's a specific pastry you want, as the popular items sell out fast. - Head to their bakery location (163 Nassau Ave) for more sufficient pastry options. ＊Matcha Chocolate Croissant $8 Intensely earthy and bittersweet, the rich matcha flavor amazed me. You could tell from the deep green color that they didn't skimp out on matcha. I heard they went through tons of recipes to perfect the matcha terrine texture. We all know how much the price for matcha has gone up lately. $8 for this level of matcha pastry is such a steal. ＊Wagyu Gruyere Croissant $9 This weekend-only wagyu gruyere croissant felt like an elevated take on a breakfast croissant. It was flawlessly flaky and not greasy at all. I also loved the pickle! ＊Black Sesame Pinwheel $6 One of their most popular pastries! Beautifully laminated and spiraled, it was filled with black sesame cream. While the flavor was good, I'd say the black sesame wasn't rich or nutty enough in Asian standards, or if you are into a more intense black sesame flavor like me. ＊Pain au Chocolat $6.75 ＊Croissant $4 I was told they use only the best butter and top-quality ingredients in their pastries. Their laminated pastries were flawless: perfectly layered, incredibly buttery, and flaky in every bite.
4/5 Shakshuka Croissant -- the lamination work is impressively strong on their pastries! I will say the bake on it is a bit stronger than I'd normally prefer. I wish it had more tomato sauce filling! I visited on a Friday around 11am, and they were sold out of everything except the plain croissant, raisin croissant, and shakshuka croissant. To echo other reviews, be sure to get here earlier for a wider selection of their more unique offerings!
Loved this coffee shop! We had their vanilla latte with almond milk and the most delicious calamansi knot. The latte was perfectly made and wasn't too sweet. It paired perfectly with their calamansi knot and it had this luscious filling in the middle. The shop is fairly small but we were able to snag some seats at the counter. The staff was very friendly as well. Would return when in the area again!
Okay this place is amazing! Butter croissant was one of the best I've ever had. Also loved the Sicilian blood orange danish. They'll even heat up the pastries for you. I will be back ASAP for more croissants. Coffee drinks also looked great. Limited indoor and outdoor seating.
Delicious pastries, good coffee, and amazing beans. A cozy place to sit, read, and journal. The service here is excellent. I've been here multiple times and see long-time customers coming in and being greeted by name. I asked which coffee beans would suit my taste, referring to the roast level and flavors I enjoy and was helped in choosing some. As I was paying for my beans, the lady behind the counter asked me if I need any advice or anything on grind settings- so thoughtful! Also on the beans- they're pricier than other beans I've bought but last just as long because they're good beans and run a really consistent shot. I had the matcha pastry with dark chocolate and it was divine! Looking forward to trying the pain au chocolat on my next visit!

The sesame pastry was perfectly sweet and the outside edges were nice and flakey. However, since it has been sitting out, the bottom was soggy. The matcha lemonade was made pretty quickly but it did not taste like matcha at all as the lemon overpowered the drink. If you decide to come, I would definitely recommend coming earlier and trying their pastries.
I was in the middle for a simple hojicha and crossaint and this place fit the bill. The crossaint was flaky but not too flaky, crispy but not too crispy. They should've called it the Goldilocks crossaint because it was just right. I should've gotten the 2% or oat milk so I could taste the hojicha better - don't do whole milk like I did! Also points to the barista for style with a cool hat and handsome face. The ambiance was gentle, soft and warm like a morning should be. read more

Came at around 9:45am on a Saturday and there was no line. All of the pastries we got were super flaky and very yummy. My favorite was the guava and lime, then the shakshuka, then the matcha chocolate, and finally the sesame pinwheel. The guava and lime danish was INCREDIBLE - strong guava flavor with a zesty lime cream, so good. The shakshuka could use a bit of heat but it was still very flavorful. I felt like the chocolate overpowered the matcha for the chocolate matcha danish. And finally, I could not really taste the sesame in the sesame pinwheel pastry. I would definitely come back to try their other pastries and specials that they have! read more

We just beat the morning rush into Paloma on a Saturday morning, and immediately, we enjoyed the relaxed vibes: a kid was watching something on her iPad while her mom read a book and sipped coffee. Another guy, who seemed to be a regular, was enjoying a drink and pastry while chatting with the barista. Parents with strollers rolled up to pick up coffees and pastries for their morning walk. Walking up to the pastry case, I could immediately see why Paloma is a neighborhood favorite: I truly wanted to eat everything in there! There was a stunning, velvety green matcha pastry, a dusky black sesame swirl, a mango-filled pastry with puree peeking out of the top, a massive, pink-striped, cream-filled pastry overflowing with cherries, a croissant with wagyu beef... and they all looked incredible, with beautiful lamination and generous filling. We ended up choosing the cherry pastry cream danish, and it was the best thing we ate all day. It was summer in a pastry - cool, refreshing cream, perfectly ripe cherries, contained in a a well-baked, beautifully laminated pastry shell. I also picked up the black sesame swirl, which was filled with black sesame cream within a spiral of well-defined, well-baked, laminated layers. Service was also so helpful and friendly, answering questions about the pastries and about the drink options. My iced matcha latte was delicious and was made with some sort of house-made pistachio-almond milk; the other milk options were whole & oat. Apparently there's two other Paloma locations elsewhere in Brooklyn that are a little larger and perhaps have a wider selection of baked goods, but this location, a small storefront on a quieter street, retained the feeling of a hidden neighborhood gem. I'd wholeheartedly recommend checking out this location or any of the other Paloma locations! read more
New bakery from the family behind Paloma, the neighborhood coffee shop with two locations (Greenpoint and Williamsburg). This one is also in Greenpoint, and also serves coffee, but the focus here is on their new viennoiserie program, and it is already shaping up to be one of the very best in the whole city. We tried everything they had on their second day of soft open, and it was all incredible. The Butter Croissant is right up there in my top 5 best in NYC now. The Chocolate Croissant is also insanely good, and their more unique offering, the Pistachio Chocolate Pain Suisse, is an absolute must. I will be back ASAP to try more, especially as they mentioned there would be several weekend special items. read more

Good coffee and fantastic baked goods! Believe one of the staff used to work at Dominique St Ansel, so they maintain a fairly high standard. Seating is a bit cramped though, it's more of a grab and go place. Prices are high but not unusual for the area. read more

Really good croissant. Pastry selection was pretty sparse at 10am on a weekday, would have liked to try some of their savory options. Appreciate they make things fresh and perhaps in small batches though. Service could improve. read more

We finally visited this coffee shop, and it was well worth the wait! Both the coffee and pastries were excellent. We tried the pecan and chocolate croissant along with Ethiopian coffee--both were perfect. Our barista was friendly and incredibly helpful, adding to the welcoming, community vibe. Can't wait to return! read more

exxxxxsqueeze me?? why does this location only have 3.8 stars on yelp (at the time of writing)?? y'all are tripppin. something ain't right bc paloma is THAT girl. and that girl knows how to bake!! gosh i love this bakery so much so that my bf and i come here at least once a week, usually on a weekend (see below) and my bf is a regular of their other non-bakery location in greenpoint. the selection you find here won't necessarily exist at her other locations and vice versa. but from this location you MUST get - reuben croissant (only on weekends): unreal. 10000/10. MUST get if you love reubens. - margherita croissant (only on weekends): 10/10 pizza in croissant form - sausage roll (only on weekends): 10/10 they use an asian/japanese sausage here and iykyk that asian sausages hit diff - ham and cheese croissant (available daily and at her other locations): 10/10 paloma's take on a classic ham and cheese w pickled raisins to cut thru it all. amazing! - brownie croissant (newly/recently saw this was available at her other greenpoint location): SHAMAZING. 10/10.crispy bottom with hazelnut deliciousness up top. - crème brûlée croissant (saw that they sometimes have it at her other greenpoint location): 10/10 a mix of cream brûlée and a portuguese egg tart on a buttery flaky crust (lol). deeelishhhh! you really cannot go wrong with anything else, truly. i wish they carried the miso white chocolate chip cookies that are available at her other greenpoint location bc they are sooooo dang good. one of my favorite cookies in the whole city. paloma is a neighborhood - iykyk and if you don't.. well sucks for you! jk now you know! like ppl are regulars here and the service is nice, friendly and engaging while respectful of your space. the ever so popular radio bakery is not TOO far from here of her other greenpoint location but i've been choosing to come here rather than radio bc 1. no lines and 2. the selection is just as avant garde and adventurous as radio's. i love that they rotate flavors and take nontraditional takes of traditional items and always, always, always kills it! paloma is like that cool tumblr girl from hs that casually went to an ivy league and now is working as the head of design at some super forward thinking company like gentle monster (look up gentle monster's approach to store design). i know that's oddly specific but am i painting you a picture? the only thing that i think MAYBE might contribute to the score isn't about her baked goods (which is and should be the main focus since this is a BAKERY) but the drinks at this location, specifically the matcha, isn't well blended and i always end up with clumps. there's a few bar seating and outdoor tables available but paloma is generally a "take your dranks and goods and go on your merry way" type of spot. read more

Awesome pastries but awful customer service! The employees could not have been more rude to me during my brief time at Paloma, and it's a shame because their pastries are just so good. Hope to see some new faces if I ever go back to this bakery! read more
