Dr. Noritake was very friendly but incompetent and not the most professional. She told me stories about partying with her friends in Vegas in a way that made me forget I was sitting in front of a practicing doctor. Her prescriptions were also inaccurate; I saw a different optometrist (at a different practice) afterwards who corrected the mistaken glasses and contacts prescriptions she gave me. The front of office technicians are similarly friendly but incompetent when ordering/fitting glasses, resulting in unnecessary phone calls and extra appointments. All nice people, but not worthy of my trust when it comes to my vision. Also, I was charged a lot ($300+) for expensive dry eye products that my new optometrist confidently says I do not need. This reflects very poorly upon Partners Pacific. read more

Be aware, they really pressure you to purchase over priced glasses and do not offer any type of refund once you leave. I went in for a routine check up and wanted blue light blocking lenses which unfortunately weren't covered by insurance. I purchased them after being told its a better deal to purchase the frames that already have the blue light blocking lenses. They ended up being $500. After talking to my HR lady about them and telling her i was bummed about not being covered, she was astonished that I was told to purchase them. My father has medicare and asked if I can help him make an appointment for an eye exam because he needed glasses. After researching his medicare network, I called Partners Pacific on a Friday. I chose them because they were near the house and easy for my father to drive himself. When calling to schedule the appointment, the first staff I spoke to said they didn't take medicare, so I said, "That's odd because you were listed on the website." So she asked another staff member and the 2nd female verified his coverage and told me that he is covered for the annual eye exam and up to $300 in frames. So I scheduled the appointment for the following Monday. I asked her if she had a Vietnamese speaking staff available because my father only spoke Vietnamese, otherwise, she can call me to translate if needed. She said they will try but will call me if they don't and then told me I had to put down $50 deposit in case he is a no show but it will apply to his copay/frames. I said sure but I only want him to choose frames within his coverage because I don't want him to have to spend any additional out of pocket costs since he doesn't have the money. She said okay and took my credit card over the phone. On the day of my father's appointment, I was at work but didn't receive any calls from Partners Pacific. That evening, my father shows me his bill and said he was charged $102. I asked what for and he said. "I don't know." So on top of charging me $50, then my father $102, what is medicare covering? The bills show they charged him for all these lense upgrades. I told them to call me so I can translate and we did not approve for any additional upgrades. They are trying to rip off old folks who can't understand them. I am so annoyed and will never send my father or anyone here again. What happened to businesses doing things ethically. They could have had a returning patient each year but in this case, they lost a patient and got a poor review. Was it worth it??? read more

Update: my sweet doctor called after hearing about my experience. We really do love this office and have only had this one bad experience and the doctor said she'd address it right away. (I had a really horrible experience with the office manager Liz. She seemed very irritated to have to do her job and I kept apologizing for her having to help me since she seemed irritated and she didn't say a word back after each sorry. She seemed genuinely annoyed to have to do her job. It was really crappy. I have had GREAT appointments with Dr. Narataki and Heidi was extremely pleasant and helpful as well. My first time at this place was last year. That time, I had my glasses made but not eyes exam. I wasn't happy with the service, to be exact, the person that handled the paperwork when you walked in. She wasn't polite the way she talked to the patient. I thought I need to look for another place to go but I need a pair of glasses ASAP so I just go to this place once again. This time, I had my eyes exam and glasses. All these years, I never had to pay for any additional money for an exam at any place. After the exam was done, they showed me the invoice, I asked why I have to pay for almost $40 extra, the girl kinda mumbling, tried to find any reasons for additional charge. At first, she said, for new patient, I asked "All new patients get charge for this." Then she started mumbling again for some other reasons "oh, do you see that machine, that what it, blah, blah..." I told her, other places used that machine too but I never get additional charges. I saw two boxes on the table, I then asked her, what are these two boxes, she said, eyes drop and patch. I asked, "how much are these?" I think the eyes drop was like $20. I said, I don't it. I can buy it at the store. She said, "it will cost you that much." I wanted to tell her YEAH RIGHT! I called my insurance, and they told me, they should have not charged you for any additional because they are IN NETWORK and no one paid additional for eyes exam. BEWARE of this place. I WOULD NEVER COMING BACK THERE... I wish there is NO STAR that I can pick. read more

I have had such good experiences in all my years seeing Dr. Le-Huynh. The office is always helpful with appointments around my busy schedule and reminding me when it's time for an anual appointment. Wonderful first experience visiting an optometrist. Jessica made the scheduling, check-in, pre-screening a breeze. She has a wonderful patient care demeanor and makes you feel welcomed; she even helped provide advice on frames when she noticed I was looking at the wall. Dr. Le was kind and didn't seem like she was in a rush to finish the exam - answering any and all questions I had. Linda (not sure if I'm spelling her name right) helped me find a pair of frames and when I realized it was too costly, she spent the same amount of time helping me find another pair that was within my budget. I have been a patient of Dr. Ota for about 30 years before his recent retirement. I live about an hour away but just felt so comfortable with him that I didn't want to look for another doctor. I'm now a patient of Dr. Le and she is awesome! She explained everything just like Dr. Ota used to, and made some recommendations for my old, dry, eyes. I picked up my glasses and they are perfect. I was highly dissatisfied and disappointed. With Dr. Ota and my insurance I never paid much for lens or contacts. Vision are wasn't even charged . In stead Medicare and my secondary were charged. I bought contacts and then later was charged again for a different prescription. Yes, they try to sell you things you don't need. In all my years of glasses, contacts, Lasix experience, Dr Le and her staff are one of the best! My entire family from the youngest (started at 5) to the oldest (90yrs old) has been to see Dr Le. I've been using glasses for as long as I could remember, and have gone to the optometrist atleast every other year of my life. This place was no different in terms of the appointment etc. However, I felt pressured to get my lenses and contacts through them. I asked for my prescription after my appointment and was told it wasn't in the system yet. I went home and ultimately decided to go with them to avoid the hassle. I wasn't satisfied with my lens that I got here and requested my prescription and was told they couldn't email it to me due to HIPAA. After some research, I found that this experience is consumer fraud. It saddens me that I chose to use my insurance to support a small business and have to experience this. read more

EXTREMELY UNHAPPY!!! BE WARNED!! Sales team selling you items you don't want or need. Look at the other Yelp reviews before spending your money at this place. This time they made a little extra money on my order, but they are now losing a family of four 15 plus year patients. I went in last year for my check up. I was told there were certain additional $$ test required to get my eyes examined, that insurance doesn't cover? In the 14 years before I never HAD to get this test but did it. I left after my appointment was over and did not buy glasses because I was unhappy about the forced testing. I spoke with the office this year and they agreed I didn't have to have the test taken this year so I went ahead and made this years appt. I used Dr. Noritake this time who did a great job, but when it came time to purchase my eye glasses from the sales person I could just feel that I was taken advantage of. (It felt just like when you buy a new car and have to deal with the financing department). I wanted a decent frame and had no problem paying for that, but the lenses, this is where it became a shell game. I kept asking for the cheapest option without any extra frills. Back and forth and back and forth with the different options. In the end I paid for what I thought was required. When I got home 30 minutes later I reviewed the bill to see what I was charged. I saw that there were multiple additives. I had the last appointment so they were already closed. I called 1st thing in the morning and requested that at least the $144 dollar lens Crizal option was removed as it was not needed for reading glasses (and advised against) which is why I was buying glasses. They told me they would have to call me back. When they called back a few hours later I was told it was too late and they would not refund the money? Pretty quick to have the lenses already made? I am sure if I called and asked them to add something and pay for it wouldn't have been too late. After reading the reviews it seems like this is the way this place works and I have felt it twice now. Oh well live and learn and warn others. read more

Dr Ota and his staff is pretty cool! Very close to work. Was in and out within 30 minutes. Got me a eye check up with some glasses and contacts. One of the nice thing about Dr. Ota you have the ability to order contacts online which is cool. I would recommend coming here, really friendly place to go. Becomes when it comes to vision, you have to do yourself a favor and see this doctor! My family and I have been going to Dr. Terada for several years now. I cannot recommend him high enough. He is always warm, friendly, and very thorough with his examination. He shows a genuine interest in my wellbeing and general health in addition to my eyes. His facility is top notch and equipped with the very latest technology in eye exam equipment.
