Been coming to your store since you opened bought six batteries also one just for my truck in November the other one near the end of August I just wanted an exchange because the battery was bad I put a hole 10 miles on a vehicle because it sits in my lot and I started every other day Istop there twice and then they told me to call Jessica which I did three times never returned my call they only offered me 10% off a replacement that's a slap in the face a whole 6 $7 the battery was junk to begin with I should have took it back right away because it had a slow start like I said I've been shopping there for years a loyal customer I'll be going to Earl's battery for now on only a year warranty and I know they're the same batteries alls I wanted was a simple replacement would have been Fair it was only 3 weeks out of warranty and I swear to God I put a whole 10 miles on the truck read more

I'm notorious among my friends and family fro driving some pretty hit up cars. So, when my vehicle needs some repairs I have a tough time spending a lot on parts and labor. Thank goodness for Detroit's Parts Galore. Located on 8 mile, Parts Galore is literally a wonderland of junk cars that you get to dissect for parts. This is a great place to go if you're looking for that totally random part like a knob for your heat controller. There have been many times that I've scored big at this joint, finding parts that would cost me 80 or 90 bucks for a mere fraction of that. You have to be willing to get your hands dirty and dig, so if you're looking to be prim and proper that's ain't the place for you. if you're looking for cheap parts in a graveyard of cars for a ridiculously fare price, Parts Galore just may be the joint for you. read more

Parts Galore is a pick-a-part junkyard. You do the work and save the money. I like going to these places even if I don't come home with anything. It's a dollar to get in and see a grave yard of cars. A story behind everyone. What happened here? Oh man, that thing is brand new! are a couple of things that one usually says. When I'm at places like this I usually just rip an emblem off a car and wear it as a big necklace and take a picture of it. You can't miss this place. The Most Genuine down to earth people I've ever met. A lot of salvage companies tell you one thing (H&M) and after they get there try to low ball you. This wasn't the case for Parts Galore what he said he meant. This car was in totaled condition. After being in a roll over accident with me inside. Rows of cars and trucks carnage baking in the sun as the vultures circle the area looking for parts to feast upon. Just remember this: It's a junkyard, y'all! This place is a recycler's dream and a part dealer's nightmare. This is my second visit to this location. There are bathrooms in the main building. The process of getting in and out is very organized. There is a shed further out just in case you need to take break from the long walk or from the weather elements - heat, sun, snow. You can call ahead of time and ask if they have the model you are looking for. It's nice to find the model and year (or something close) and find parts you always wanted to get, but never got around to it. As of June 15th, admission went from $1 to $2. At $1, I would just go to one location. At $2, I will go to at least two locations. Pay admission one time and you are allowed admission to all three locations for the day. ( I think the admission charge keeps the browsers out and the serious shoppers in). For the most part the employees are friendly and helpful. Bring tools that you believe you will need, but they do sell tools. There is a small charge for using a credit card (I think I saw a sign that indicated a 2% charge. The cashier said 2.5% charge). Come prepared to come in contact with dirty cars and sharp parts - work gloves and jeans might be warranted. Wearing work boots or a hard bottom shoes is a suggestion also. There is glass and pieces of parts on the ground. This place is not for the faint-of-heart shopper. You have to be ready for the hunt. Overall, if you don't mind hunting for a deal or treasure hunting, then this is the place for you, but be prepared to work for it. Update: they no longer post the list of prices for individual parts, which was very useful. Now you may spend a lot of time pulling a part only to find it's overpriced at checkout. Of course you can walk back to the checkout desk and ask and then walk back to the car with your tools, but that's not fun. The prices have also gone up. I happened to purchase a cruise control, and the price more than doubled from $8.50 or so to $19.99. So watch out! read more

Pretty cool junk yard. However the average age of the cars was around 12 years old. Practically zero newer cars, so don't go there expecting to get a part for your 2008 BMW or Lexus. That's another thing a majority of the cars are domestic, with very few foreign makes. It was still fun to look around. read more

We drove an hour to this facility and it definitely was not worth our time, there were hundreds of cars but they were COMPLETELY picked over! The staff was unbelievably rude. My husband and I went, after an extensive search we did manage to find 1 of the 5 things we went for. They asked where we were from (which should not of mattered) they clearly put a price guide on the wall, well when I went to pay they inflated the price! It was like the couple from the "burbs" should pay more! They gave a rediculous excuse and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. read more

After being a customer since opening. I went to replace a door panel for the third time on my wifes aerostar. To find that they only one aerostar on the lot . the door panels were broken so I thought they would give me deal . Nope ,they tried to charge more than the $7.00, I paid in the past for the same door panel which I bought 3 times at that location. They told me the door panel now cost $14.99 each. This junk yard is very clean, with safe parking in a bad area, it's a nice place. The employees and staff are beyond rude and careless, "nonchalant" would be their attitude I guess, I'm not going there for the staff, I'm going there for the parts, but its still an aspect of running a business. While I waited to get my receipt dated so I could enter the yard, a whole group of "employees (they weren't really working but they were wearing parts galore uniforms)" carried on to themselves in an uproar of gossip and laughter while I waited there for them to finish just so I could continue into the yard . The cashier was more interested in listening to his headphones and playing on his cell phone than doing his job and checking me out as I waited to pay, if I owned the business I would have fired him on the spot. Their prices are somewhat competitive, but I think some of them are just plain outrageous, especially when you're doing all the work to remove the parts and to mention most of the cars in the yard are over 10 years old. For the price of some of the parts you could buy the entire car. There is also an "environmental fee" which I had to pay for when purchasing an inner fender (made of plastic, they should be paying me since I'm technically recycling) which I found repulsive! If you're paying by credit card, get ready to pay an extra 2.5% fee on top of your total price, which I think is inconsiderate. Over all it's a cool place to check out if you're looking for some parts, they have a large vast inventory, but nothing you couldn't get at any other junk yard in your local area, I refuse to go back, it's not worth my fuel or time. read more
