I am writing to you to let you know that me and my husband are upset on how the cupcakes and the cake turned out. I had asked you if you were able to replicate the cake/cupcake and you had replied "yes". As you can tell from the pictures I have provided, compared to what you have made, doesn't even compare to what we requested. If you weren't able to do so as a professional you could have advised us that you can make a similar version. The cake flowers from color, type and size as well as the lace design were all wrong. Flowers were supposed to be lilac. We were told strawberries were in season and were happy to hear fresh strawberries would be used in the cake. I don't think I have to say what happened there. Lace around the cake was not spaced correctly and unevenly centered around the cake. You could have said that you weren't able to replicate this cake and could have shown us what you can do and we would go from there. If it would have cost more, again, you should have said so. The cupcakes weren't average size and if you or your assistant decorated them, as you can see, they were done sloppy and again the flower type was wrong. I had a bad feeling when you thought that the cakes were for Satuarday and the delays in the emails. I guess you live and learn, and you can keep my good review because that was a review toward you as an individual. Sorry I can't say the same towards the quality of your work and the outcome of your product. The bottom line of this email is that we felt that we received something that was done at last minute and used whatever you had left in your kitchen. AMAZING !!!! My girlfriend and I flew to Miami for my Bday and we were having dinner at prime 112 with 18 friends. Shawn delivered the cake at 10 o'clock at night talk about great customer service! When I finally saw the cake that my girlfriend was surprising me with I was completely floored. I have never seen such an amazing cake. I can only imagine the countless hours that were put into making this cake. We did a lot of things this weekend boating, nightlife but the highlight of this trip was the cake!! Terrible customer service. We had planned to get our wedding cake through Shawn because our venue includes a cake from her with their package. We initially set up a cake tasting several months before the wedding. Shawn cancelled 3 different times on the day of the tastings.The last time she cancelled, she had her assistant text message me. How impersonal and inconsiderate that she couldn't even make a 2 minute phone call. She is impossible to contact and does not return phone calls after several days. I tried to call her multiple times and left voice mails, and I would either get no response back or a text again from her assistant. Completely unprofessional and I would never recommend. I gave this bakery two stars because the cake was delicious. However, I did not get what was agreed upon. The cake was plain and white with a couple of stars around it. She did add the numbers that was asked to put but that was it. It was agreed upon for the cake to be red. Third tier was to be piano, second tier music symbols with the number of age, an first tier was to be sculpted as a certain figure. Instead, I got a white cake with red trimmings. And the first tier had a 3-4inch styrofoam figure she drew and cut and placed it in the first tier. I was very disappointed when I saw the cake. I am a very easy going person so I did not complain. I just take this as a lesson learned. When I ordered this cake, I made all plans over the phone because I was not in town. Maybe if I sat and met with her in person, things would have went more smoother. Customer service is great. She is a nice lady and has a lot of patience. Horrible. I should of known not to use this company again after the first time I used them. We paid to have a cake made for my daughter's 2nd Birthday. Only to call 30 minutes before the party started to see why the delivery was not at our house yet. Finally we get a text back and no phone call stating, "I am sorry but your cake will not be delivered today. " I had to keep texting and calling go get an answer that supposedly the owner was in a car accident and can not deliver the cake. If this is the case, health and safety are at the up most of importance HOWEVER I was in contact via text only (no one would call me back) with the daughter and asked if someone from the company could deliver it. No response. I have now been fighting with the company for over TWO months to just credit my card back for the cake they failed to deliver. I should not have to be inconvenienced and dispute the charge, which now I have to do. Just all around unprofessional. Not to mention, I should of known not to hire them again when my husband hired this company for my daughter's first birthday, they got the cake flavors wrong AND we paid for a smash cake that we DIDNT get. We made 2 appointments for a wedding cake tasting just to have them canceled the day before the appointment. First it was she gave the bakers the weekend off then at 10 pm it was both of her delivery drivers called in sick after she had tried to cancel on me in earlier in the week for the same appointment because it was a holiday. I was originally going to get a cake from Shawn for my wedding because the cake was included in the venue cost if i went though her. Set up my tasting and tried to confirm the day before that we were still on for that day. Never heard from her. Morning comes, I call and the voicemail says "we will be closed from "current day" though some day 3-4 days away". I called the venue to find out if they knew anything and they were unaware of anything going on as well. I got a text message a couple DAYS later from I believe her daughter/assistant asking if we can reschedule the tasting as Shawn had to leave town. That is not how you do business. And at least put on your voicemail the situation and that all tastings and such will be rescheduled when you get back, not that you're flat out closed. I decided to comp the money from the venue for the cake and went elsewhere especially after researching her a bit more and found many other negative reviews where similar situations have happened or she didn't show up with the cake, etc. Wasn't worth it for me to stress about all that. read more

Trust me when I tell you to NOT trust her with your precious time, money and designs because she does NOT come through with them!!!!! I had called her about 3 to 4 months before the wedding day to set up a cake tasting session with her and she cancelled the first time because supposedly she was also a chef and was needed at someone's wedding in the kitchen. The second time she cancelled because she supposedly got in a car accident. The third time we finally had the cake tasting and my husband and I got super excited because the frosting, the cake, her service and the design seemed to all go beautifully together. Then I called her several times after the first tasting to give her the first payment and she took it fine. Then I tried calling her and texting her a lot after that in December to make the second payment. Guys, She finally called me back to make the final payment 3 days before the wedding day. My wedding was in Pompano and when we spoke we agreed she was supposed to deliver the cake by 3pm since the groom was to arrive at 4pm. My husband called me at 6 when the majority of the people were there already to tell me that the cake wasn't there yet. I texted her immediately because I remembered seeing reviews about her online where she took the money, never delivered the cake and ignored people's calls after that. She texted back fast saying that her cake lady was delivering it and was almost there. That gave me peace of mind and allowed me to finish getting ready for my big day. Then on that day the cake was hard to cut, it was SUPER dry and once we cut each piece, they crumbled up so no one had a nice piece of cake. The fondant on the design was wobbly as if someone put it there while drunk and the cake barely had any frosting, was bland, dry, smaller than she had told me, and none of the piped designs we had come up with were there, oh! and the cake topper was put on the middle tier because the top tier was too small. Mind you, she told me to get the cake topper in 5 inches so it would fit nicely and I did, still the cake topper was on the middle tier. I tried calling her pretty much everyday after the wedding to complain and was never able to get through to her even leaving messages. One day she finally posted a pic on insta and I decided to call her right away, and she didn't pick up so I messaged her and she texted back and even called me. Then I told her everything I just told you guys right now and SHE STARTED CRYING OVER THE PHONE. Of course I understand when people are going through stuff which she told me she was and told me to give her a week to get herself together and then to call her back after the week so she could give me the credit or see what we wanted to do. I gave her not 1 week but 2 and a half, and she reads ignores my messages, never returns back my calls and never calls me back. yet she keeps posting and reading every single thing I send her. She is irresponsible, unprofessional, is not punctual, and says that she cares about every client and every cake but she clearly does not. Stay AWAY! Save your money and use Cake Worth, DD cakes or literally ANYONE else who actually values your time, your money and your special occasions. She ruined my cake, and was the one thing that went wrong when she had promised to pay extra attention to my cake since she wanted everything to go perfect. Absolutely horrible customer service. We had 4 appointments with Shawn for our wedding cake. She cancelled the first appointment via a phone call. However the subsequent 3 appointments she never showed up and never called. The 4th appoitment and we should have known better was made after we spoke to the caterer who she works with. She was asked why she did not call, she told them she did and had left a message which was totally not true. After their intervention we set up yet the 4th appointment for a Tuesday night at 7PM at our home. Once again a no show and no phone call. This person shows a lack of professionalism, common courtesy, respect or customer service. There would be no way that we would have this person make us cupcake let alone a wedding cake. Her inactions show a lack of professional courtesy. The way she conducts business is appalling. How do you not call a customer to cancel an appoitment not once but 3 times and why so many no shows?. My fiance and I were looking for a vendor to produce a wedding cake and came across this company. They are completely unreliable and we ended up having to choose a different company. My future mother in law flew in special for a cake tasting appointment only to have Shawn not show up without a phone call or any reason whatsoever. My fiance left a message which was never returned and called a couple days later to get an an answer. I believe she must have had the number saved because she didn't pick up the phone. However when we called from a different number all of a sudden we got an answer. Not only did she not have any reason to give us on the phone but promised she would call us back to find out what happened and never followed through on her promise. Horrible service do not order from here. I ordered a cake for my sons birthday party. I made sure to order it over a week prior and specifically told them exactly what I wanted. The cake was not at all what I ordered. I'm not one to write a bad review but there was just so much wrong with this cake that I purchased and the customer service was horrible . First off the layers of the cake were not the flavors I wanted along with the icing. I paid extra for a Spider-Man action figure to be included on the cake and it was not. Also, I said specifically that I wanted "happy birthday (My sons name)" on the cake, they only included the name. On top of the cake being completely not what I asked for it was also late. I was told that the cake would be ready to get picked up at 10am. I was messaged when I was on my way to pick it up and was told to come pick it up at 12pm (the time when the party has already begun). I had to leave the party to go pick it up, it was just ridiculous. I tried to followed up with the baker a couple of days after about the cake and the mistakes that was made and I got no reply. Poor ethical standards for this Groupon bakery! I was hoping I could save some money on my wedding cake. BIG MISTAKE! Shawn was a big disappointment to my wedding, her personality is so fake and flaky, all smiles and calling you honey in the beginning. After a brief meeting with her regarding what we agreed on and making a deposit. I had called her the very next day and left a message regarding cake color change and possible renting a cake stand from her. However she never responded back to my phone messages nor emails. She claimed that she was too busy and somehow did not receive any of my emails and messages. After speaking with her, I realized and felt in my heart that she was not a nice person and did not deserve my business. She was very unprofessional and nasty on the phone with me. After asking back for my deposit of $100, she said no and that was her policy once you paid a deposit no refund. My wedding was still 3 weeks away and its not like she had already baked my cake. Needless to say after disputing it out with her, she still declined in paying me back my deposit. She comes off sweet when you first meet her, but as soon as she has you pay a deposit, she turns into a bitch once she has your money! I ended up going to a wonderful bakery Edda's Cake by Design, which had a way better cake taste and all my guest loved the cake and I was very happy with their service! I did have to pay a little more but the customer service and quality was outstanding and well worth it! They are the best bakery one can have for their wedding or special occasions'!
