An in-store visit in August; needing multiple balloons to commemorate a special day.. My experience was brutally bad. The manager seemed the most competent but why wasn't she helping customers? The store was fully staffed on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Which is surprising given that COVID-19 is still on-going and people aren't out quite as much in that area. The parking lot near them was empty and quiet. (Not the case across the lot by Trader Joe's. Which was crowded due to social distancing. They had a long line of customers waiting to get in.) Inside Party city, the employees talked amongst themselves and the "feel" is that everything is tediously slow. If a tumbleweed rolled through the store, that would be more thrilling than receiving their assistance. I needed Holy communion balloons. One cashier sent me searching down an aisle. It was ten minutes to close and had she helped me I could have been out of there faster. In any case I found two options and needed a recommendation. Something that could work and something utterly tacky. Asking employees for their opinions on balloon choice was ridiculous. One person didn't bother responding and the other asked whether it's for a girl. One of my options were pink balloons but were awfully tacky. I think if a person identifies as Catholic and a baby, they might. Hard MIGHT like that design. I got the decent one. Went back to the cashier and asked how much inflation service could cost and dude says 15 cents each. Score!** Here I'm thinking, might as well inflate 10-20 pieces given the low rate. **Moments later when the items are rung I realize he was incorrect. It's $1.20 per balloon... Seriously.. I ended up spending some $30+ dollars for balloons. Which, to any Party city employee or parent knowing how to stretch a dollar, is utterly ridiculous. The best deal is to buy a mini tank of helium which when paired with balloons is the best buy you could hope for. Having the tank means, you can make balloons for any number of parties in the future till the tank runs out. Surf reviews and you'll see a trend. When in doubt or in a pinch, try to get the store manager to help you. If management is reading this; advanced training or exercises to train staff in encountering customers is necessary. It's the basics.. the welcome greeting, how may I assist you, actively participating in aiding the customer rather than sending them in a direction. Helping customers rather than talking with their co-workers. Just recently I needed party supplies for a gathering in a nearby suburb. But because of this last visit, I just wanted a simpler shopping experience. So, I opted for a nearby city location rather than visiting here which would have been more convenient. read more

My feelings on this Party City are pretty similar to what others have said in that - The selection here is good, but not quite as good as larger locations - The service isn't great but it isn't bad either - There's some competition from dollar stores nearby which can sell some very similar items at a cheaper price. - The layout can be confusing at times, although if you look hard enough you should be able to find what you want. Overall, I come here when I need something in a hurry -- otherwise I prefer to order from the website with a huge amount of selection without having to spend a lot of time searching through the store for all the different options. read more

We have now used Party City for 2 graduation parties. We rented a tent, chairs, tables, linens, and games. They are exceptional. They know their product and will help you decide what you need for your event. Everything comes clean and organized. Hubs and I came here on a Monday evening. The store had a few customers and was relatively quiet. Store was clean and well-organized. I found what I was looking for very easily. Wouldn't say the quality of what we purchased was any better than what the Dollar Tree sells, but it is a 'party' store so the options are plentiful. They sell a ton.of.stuff. and have a great variety (exactly what I needed). Customer service wasn't fabulous (no one walking around to find out whether or not we needed any help), but the cashier was friendly enough. I'm a fan of Party City; albeit the prices are on the higher end for certain items. Big parking lot. Will be back. read more

This place is a disaster. Unless you have nowhere to be for your entire day, I highly suggest you stay clear of this hell. I waited in line for 25 mins to have them blow up one balloon. I watched an incompetent worker take a balloon, blow it up, and over-inflate it to the point where it popped and he had to start over... FOUR TIMES. Another woman accidentally let a balloon go and she was unable to reach it, so she took her sweet time finding a ladder to grab it, while the line keeps growing longer and longer. They are inefficient; there's no reason anyone should be waiting in line for 20+ minutes for someone to pump air and tie strings. I'm appalled this dump is still open in my area. read more

party and costume stores, as a general rule, annoy me. you'd be hard-pressed to find very much in these places that's not a cheaply-made, mass-produced, piece of tacky crap. the employees usually look like they'd rather be dead than working there, or the opposite--they're overly helpful/cheerful to the point of irritation. but sometimes, ya gotta do what ya gotta do. and when you're throwing any kind of party, do you really need all those streamers, balloons, fake flowers, wigs, plastic swords, metalic centerpieces... which will serve their purposes for a few hours before clogging your trash can? yes, you do. i'll do what i can to get the aforementioned items anywhere else-- dollar store, jewel, joann's, hobby lobby-- which works if you're not too picky. but party city's got the market cornered on a few things. those humongoid rolls of colored tablecloths for one. and you're unlikely to find every single piece of a place setting in just the right color scheme anywhere else. so sometimes, you just gotta go. read more

Pretty decent as far as party supply stores go. All of the stores in this chain tend to carry the same exact items so really the only thing that could change a review is the staff. I came here for a return, I had bought too many supplies for TBOX. They had no problem with my return and I didn't have to wait long for the manager to come by and approve the return. My overall impression of their merchandize? Most of it is cheap in quality but they do have decent prices and a great selection of costumes at Halloween and accessories for every other holiday. read more

This review is for their invitations only. I came to Party City for wedding invitations because a friend said they had a good selection. My mom came with me, and we got the little invitation corner all to ourselves. There were tons of books to look through with all kinds of options. We got exactly what we wanted (a seal and send with detachable postcard that was a large rectangular shape with pearlized swirls and the ink in purple). We found an online coupon for 25% off which they honored. It was under $400 for 225 invitations. They sent us a proof the next day, and when we requested changes they followed up very quickly as well. I think they said to allow up to two weeks for the invites to be finished, but we had them inside a week after the final proof was approved. We got so many compliments on our wedding invitations, and we were really happy because we knew we got them for a great price! read more

Lucy was beyond wonderful; had answers to all our questions & was a pleasure to work with! To our surprise we learned that she actually was not the invitation designer, but that never made a difference! Our invites turned out wonderfully! The manager at this particular location is disrespectful, selfish and rude. He talks down to and disrespects his employees in front of customers. On top of being a bad manager and not know how to handle his employees, he also is terrible at customer service and couldn't be bothered to pause his task at hand, to assist a customer who needed assistance reaching an item. When he finally did assist the customer who he was verbally rude to, and kept waiting, he let out a huge sigh of annoyance that he would have to help her carry an item to the front of the store to be purchased because she had a physical disability that prevented her from doing so alone. There have been complaints in the past to corporate headquarters, which have not seemed to improve his attitude, management skills, or customer service. read more

we went there for new year's eve goodie bag supplies. they have a candy bulk srction so we thought it would be great for the bags. not a ton of choices but enough to make a good bag. here's the problem...every single piece of the candy was stale and/or tasted like or smelled like urine and dirty socks. we brought back most of the candy and asked to speak to the manager. she said we must have done something to it or stored it incorrectly. yep, overnight we ruin3d the prepackaged candy. she refused to return our money & said she hopes we have a shitth day. never shop here!!! read more
