I asked about the confetti balloon they had on display and they told me to go get it in aisle 8, they asked if I wanted it blown up... when the confetti was just laying in the bottom of the balloon and I asked why it didn't look like the sample they said I had to have asked for a special gel to get that effect. How would anyone who doesn't work in a party store know this??? When I asked her to correct it she said I could rebuy the $12/ea balloons and then they could. SUPER BUSY.. days leading up to Halloween. I went in to look for Chinese lanterns (I did find) the store was semi organized given the fact it was hectic. Staff was helpful along the aisles to help people find what they are looking for. The reason I took 2 stars was do to no AC running which made the store hot and smelly, and the cashiers SCREAMING "NEXT" to all the customers in line. To me that's pretty rude ... however overall for how busy it was the store was organized the best it could be and staff on the floor was helpful. read more

I came by to pick up some balloons and the lady was prompt and nice. It was my first time picking up balloons anywhere, I was so lost. She helped me get the ones I was looking for and was very helpful. It was not busy at all so I recommend to go week days if you are able to. I am really iffy on giving this party city 2 stars. The staff seemed side tracked and in their own world. I decided to find the items I needed on my own. (I was tired of asking for help) The merchandise was all over, a little on the trashy side. I was very surprised by the way it looked. Seemed to me like they didnt take any pride in their store. There have to be other places that sell balloons, right? It took a very long hour to get 12 simple helium balloons. There was a long line the entire hour I was in the store. I commented to the people working and they said it was actually slower than they expected to be with graduations this time of year which makes it seem even more stupid that it was only the manager and one employee working that day. The manager inflated balloons really loudly which made my son cry even though I saw later that he very easily could have inflated them without the super loud popping noise. I guess he's just an asshole. I had to wait a really long time for the balloons I wanted to be inflated, since they messed it up the first time. After I was done, they made me wait in another super long line to pay. I paid extra for the balloons to last longer, and only half of them actually lasted as long as promised. They were out of stock of almost every happy birthday balloon. I heard someone ask about party invitations they were out of and the manager said to come back on Monday (I was there on a Thursday). Two stars instead of one because Madyson (cashier, not the store manager) was nice. read more

Luvv Party City. I can always find what we need here for my daughter's birthday party we needed a Disney Frozen theme and they had everything from cups + plates to balloons, including the large helium balloons. We recently bought Valentine's Day items, too. Which is neat because some stores like Target only carry candy and don't really have Valentine's Day decorations. They have such a good selection and prices are reasonable. (2018 update) Some of the Halloween staff were rude (-1 star), but if you just buy and check out, without having to interact with them, then it's a good experience. I like that they had cute Thanksgiving decorations, too. It's getting more difficult to find Thanksgiving decorations as now people just go from Halloween to Christmas season and Thanksgiving gets blown over. We went to Michaels and they didn't have shiznit for Thanksgiving, so we're appreciative that Party City still carries Thanksgiving items. We got a Thanksgiving balloon plus a lot of cute little knickknacks for a Thanksgiving party for our soon to be 3-yr old. Couldn't find this stuff anywhere else. I have to give this place five stars because of the customer service. I came in last night literally a minute before it was closing as they were pulling everything into the store. Even though they were about to close, when they found out I needed balloons to mail to my sister in northern California as part of a remote birthday surprise, they let us in and didn't rush us on balloon selection. They let another customer in as well who kind of had the same situation. they didn't seem annoyed, were happy to help us and we were incredibly grateful that they stayed a bit longer to help us spread some joy. Recently, I had a small football party at my house. I purchased all my plates, cups, silverware, napkins, and decorations at Party City. Most of the cuttlery and such was buy one get one free, so it was an awesome deal. It's nice to shop at a store that has so much to offer at a great savings. Here's what you can expect from the new Party City in Goodyear: great prices, blah service. I was pleased to find a wonderful assortment of party gear and really great prices. Most pleasing were the aluminum foil pans (great price!!). I shall never purchase those at the grocery store again. Party City really had everything I needed, but what it didn't have was a decedent staff member working the checkout line. Both clerks were really young and apathetic. They were SLOW ... I am not that impatient when I shop, but this was ridiculous. My clerk kept taking my items out of the bag and ringing them up again, two, three times. I started worrying about what was happening, and when he was done he didn't give me a receipt. I asked, "Can I please have a receipt?" and he replied, "It's totally messed up" and sort of threw his hands in the air. OKAY .... He said, "if you have a problem with anything, just tell them who I am" and he motioned to his nametag. I think it said Matthew. I stepped aside and did a mental count of my items and the approximate price - my total charge seemed right, so I left. I'll go back to Party City, but I will make sure when I do that I am in my most "chill" mode possible. I can't imagine being stressed and rushed in this store! read more

Where's the negative star option??? In the store an hour ago and the manage proceeds to scream and belittle the young female employee. She couldn't have been more than 16-17 and she was screaming at her in front of every other employee and a store full of customers. She has no business being in charge of a pile of rocks let alone actual human employees. Another female customer had to step in and address it since there's no reason to talk to your employees that way. Now you wonder why this location has negative reviews...it's because the management is horrible. I was at this store a little bit ago and I felt so bad for one of the employees. This young lady, probably in her teens, was getting yelled at by the manager in the front of the store with A LINE FULL OF CUSTOMERS. It looked like this girl made a mistake, but guess what, she is human and we all make them. Regardless, she did NOT deserve to be spoken to like that let alone in front of her coworkers and customers...how embarrassing! I hope she quits and files a complaint! I called the store later to find out the name of the manager, and whoever answered the phone hesitated before saying a name, almost like she was nervous to tell me. After her long pause, she said, Danielle. Danielle, if you are reading this review, you should be ashamed of yourself for acting like that! This is a pretty cool place, after visiting three other places. We ended up purchasing our kids pinata from here. They have a huge selection to choose from. They also have a huge selection of party themes. They have everything from cups, decorations, candies, and props. Workers were very helpful and the prices are very reasonable. read more

Got some fun hats and horns here for New Year's, although $3 per cardboard hat is kinda steep and they are too small for adult-sized heads. There's also something odd about the way this store is laid out. I used to work at Party City when I was 16 and I think my store had a better layout. I Went to have my balloons filled with helium for my son birthday, they damaged my 2 ballon and are not willing to replace them or even come down in price for a new one because they are not from that store. We ordered balloons ahead of time for our party and were told they only last 6-8hrs, did we want to add on "hi-float" (costs $0.14 extra per balloon) we said no thank you we will just pick them up later. When I got there at the scheduled time it looked like our balloons were already sagging. We had set to pick them up at 3pm because the party was at 5. The balloons must have been filled early in the day because they didn't even last 2 hours. It was sad and not worth the money. Thankfully I kept the receipt from when we pre ordered them the day before too because the cashier that rang us up didn't put our name on the order anywhere. read more

I found myself in need of a Thank You card. I went in and unfortunately, it was Halloween. The store was a mess, but no one was looking at the cards, so lucky me! The service was so-so, but it was a big day in the life of a party store (2nd only to Valentine's Day) and having worked in a party store myself, I knew they'd appreciate one less customer to worry about anyways. I found what I needed and I left. The next time I came back was a year later and I was having balloons inflated that I'd brought in with me. I had three small mylars and one giant one. I decided to get two of the little ones and the big one inflated. Obviously, the big one cost more. It had a hole so I had them blow up the little one. They didn't do a price difference and I saw the two people who helped me talk about it. I was in a hurry and didn't want to deal with getting my dollar or whatever it was so I left. Went in to buy 1 item and spent 20 mins in line. Keep in mind there was only 1 person in line before me. I waited thinking the person with the cashier may have a big order, no problem. Party City in Goodyear is a joke!! I bought my daughter a Sweet 16 sash to wear for her birthday at this location earlier in the day. My daughter later on in the evening went back into the store after we had gone to dinner and was accused of stealing it. They went as far as telling her they were going to call the police. She asked them to look at their camera footage to see that she had it on when she walked in and they continued to tell her that they were going to call the police. I called and spoke to the manager Danielle and she continued to make accusations against my daughter. I asked her to stay open and I will show them my receipt and once I do they will apologize to my daughter for accusing her for stealing...guess what she said " no we are closing and it's not necessary". Very negative and disappointing experience here last month re the 2 teen or young adult cashiers and inappropiate conversation at the check out (one was working the register, the other was chatting to her). Lots of talk re drinking and antics of her friend's mother related to that, including "standing on top of her car and peeing", etc. Quite unbelieveable the conversation was going on. I was the 2nd person in line and the two women in front of me had a young girl (about 5 or 6) w/them listening to the whole thing. I e-mailed corporate office and got an immediate response. Apparently this location is a franchise but they said they'd pass the complaint on. read more

I placed an order for balloons to be picked up today and asked what time they opened. She told me they opened at 9am so I requested to pick up the balloon order at 9am. However, upon arriving today..I see that Party City doesn't open until 9:30am. I guess I should have double checked, but the employee should have not printed on the receipt that my pick up time was 9am. Maybe your employees also need additional training on store hours. This is pretty inconvenient having to wait 30 minutes when I specifically asked what time does Party City open. 30 minutes may not seem like a lot, but it does when you live in Goodyear, however, has to get to Chandler by a certain time. Maybe next time, I'll go to a Party City on that side of town because apparently I cannot count on my local one. read more

I didn't have a problem with the store itself, that was wonderful. It had everything anyone could possibly need for the holidays and or parties, weddings and other gatherings. I did however, had a very big problem with the service. The clerks in there acted like every little thing bothered them. They were young, rude and very snobby. Even the older manager was acting like a real piece of work. Stuck up and just acting like everyone is better than you. I dealt with a girl named Andrea, and let me tell you. This place is so unorganized and slow. Where is management? We went there to pick up balloons for a birthday party and there were thirty people in line and no manager or supervisor in sight. One cashier who was new that was on the register. One person blowing up balloons....on a weekend. It didn't matter that you ordered online. The line for online orders was a 30 minute wait. This Halloween my son had his heart set on being a dinosaur . Unfortunately for us after a weekend of driving from store to store I quickly learned that dinosaur costumes for toddlers must not be a hot ticket, as most stores either didn't carry any or I couldn't get help from any of the employees in finding it in the mess of costume bags strewn about the floor. My last chance, party city in the far reaches of Avondale.We walked into the store and much to my surprise where quickly greeted and assisted bye a young man named Trinity. Unfortunately after several minutes of searching he informed me that he didn't have any more in stock .I told my son the bad news and he started crying. Trinity then informed me that some times costumes just get mixed up in the chaos and if there was any way to get a hold of me he would let me know if he found one ..... Cold chance in hell the guy i bought my car from didn't even give me this kind of service let alone some guy selling me a $25 costume. Four days latter he got a hold of me informing me a costume turned up and would hold it for me if i was still interested. The next day on my lunch break I stopped by, picked it up and was a hero to my 4 year old son just 1 day away from his pre-school Halloweeen thing. Need less to say my socks where blown off and my head exploded. I really do like Party City, but I'm not very fond of this particular location. It's super close to where I live, but from now on I will drive the extra miles if I need to shop here. The managers are always friendly and helpful. Wish I could say the same for the rest of the employees. These are issues from the past three years. One night it was about ten minutes until close and I wanted to grab one thing for a school party the next morning but they had already locked the doors. A cashier came to the door and said "Sorry, we already closed." Later that year I needed a costume and although certain ones showed as "sold out," I was told the counts were off and to ask the person pulling the costumes. He said he was too busy. I have called and asked them to check stock for a costume and they said they don't do that during Halloween because it was too busy, but Arrowhead and the one on Encanto were happy to check for me. On occasion the cashiers were unfriendly and the ones helping with balloons seemed really put out. To top it off, I was charged full price for items that were supposedly "on sale" on more than one trip. I suppose if you're buying a ton of stuff all at once for a party, you may not notice, right? I always check. Then I get back in line for my price adjustment. I bought this stupid cup with a unicorn on it the LAST time it was there and the lip around the edge cracked after one use. I wish there were other party supply stores closer. read more
