This was my first time visiting any Party City location. Aside from the slow check-out line, it was a pretty cool place. As someone who loves to host gatherings and is a sucker for fun/cute items to do so, I could have spent more time and more money there easily. I feel like I've been missing out! I had no idea Party City had such a huge variety of Halloween items - décor, costumes, props, you name it. We were there to pick up some costume knives and candy melts + candy eyes for a Halloween party. As someone who loves to bake, I was also really impressed with the unique variety of accessories for baking, things that are usually hard to find unless you're purchasing them online. In addition, there was a whole aisle serving items - plates, cutlery, specialty drink serving items, etc. - all in whatever color or theme you could imagine (even matching tongs!). Most of the items were well-priced, and the items we purchased were slightly less expensive than Target or Amazon's offerings. I arrived 8 minutes before their posted closing. I needed to grab a bag of balloons which would have taken me three minutes. The doors were already locked. I could see people and staff in the store. To me that's unacceptable. The doors should not be locked until the posted closing time. read more

PARTY CITY: The name of the business itself evokes imagery of confetti-lined streets, pennants, bubbles, mylar balloons full of "congratulations" and "happy retirement" in the shapes of hearts, stars and ninja turtles... You can't be sad at Party City. (If you can be then I suggest you get to work on righting that ship and quick, son.) As Yelp MKE's party planner/go-to lady, I find myself here semi-often. It's because, like Biz Markie said, "[they've] got what I need" in the form of helium tanks, costumes, kitsch and so much more. A recent Sunday excursion to the south side 'burbs had me stocking up for Kistchmas like a slap happy fool. The only problem - the stuff adds up, and quick. It's not a cheap store, it's not an expensive store... it's a little bit of both. Be careful on pricing, friends. They ONLY play top 40 songs done in shitty cover version. Go. Listen. You'll hear. You'll see... TL;DR: Party City is fun and full of nonsense and it's got the stuff you need and the stuff you don't but want and it's kind of Pricey City but also, some great deals and great random stuff to be found. read more

I recently searched all over town for square yellow plates for a party (at least three other stores) when I should have just started at Party City in the first place. PC had the yellow plates, along with balloons and other party treats. Prices were reasonable and the staff was helpful. Last year at this time for my son's birthday, I went to another local party store to have some prepurchased balloons filled with helium. The other store would only fill four balloons on the basis of a 'global helium shortage.' I try to be environmentally conscious so I didn't question it, but it seemed to be a pretty odd explanation. Conclusion: get helium balloons elsewhere. I had no helium shortage issues at Party City and I expect to return here for my future party planning needs. read more

"This place, now called Party City, is great if you have kids and need to have a party or decorate for a holiday. The things here are a lot lower priced than even the big box stores and there are aisles of different party favors, balloons, gift wraps, candy and items with licensed characters. Today's trip had us starting and Easter basket, and we left with a basket, grass, candy, a couple toys, some fillable eggs and candy for just over $10. I placed an order for 15 "regular" balloons & 4 other items for curbside pickup the next day. I called that day to make sure the order was ready for pick up and the clerk said "let me get your balloon bouquet ready" I had a 20 minute commute to pick up. Once curbside, I called the store to alert them I had arrived. The girl that answered the telephone said that they needed another 10 minutes. FRUSTRATING. Aside from sitting there for 10+ minutes waiting, one would think that the store would place the balloons inside an extra large plastic bag for easier handling....NOPE. Skip this place for balloons and go elsewhere. Even the Dollar Tree places their balloon bouquets inside a bag!! read more

I worked with Party City for my baby shower and had the best customer service! The lady Jessie made me feel so comfortable with helping me keep my balloons floating with hi float. They were beautiful and she was very fast and efficient! Highly recommend. read more

One out of three workers here was nice and helpful. The other two were nice but not helpful. When you need to get the sort of stuff they have here, there's just not much choice. If you're decorating for a party, places like Target are just not going to have everything you need. So the problem with a place like this, where you can find all the party decorations you need is that while some of the stuff is cheap, random other stuff you get with the cheap stuff isn't and you'll spend more than you expected. But who has the time and energy to hop from store to store to get the best deals on all the decorations-soon-to-be-not-recyclable-litter we think we need decorate for a party or event? There are numerous reasons to feel bad shopping here, the dreadful looped music to start. The ironically sad and morose atmosphere of the store (a place called "Party City"). The obvious assault on the environment like helium for balloons, we're literally blowing this limited nonrenewable element on party balloons. I do not feel good shopping here, but what are you going to do if you need a "congratulations" banner? read more

Purchased multiple wedding invitation kits and when my Fiance' and I were getting ready to use/print out invites, we noticed one of the boxes were excessively taped, as if someone returned them. Sure enough, AFTER printing the invites and getting them all ready, the accessories that were SUPPOSE to come with the invitations were missing. Whatever employee accepted this return without checking to see if everything was included, then putting it back on the shelf to be resold, should be fired. The accessories/embellishments of the invitations is what MAKES the invitations. I will be calling the manager tomorrow, and possibly corporate if I don't get a partial refund. Absolutely horrible costumer service. I asked an employee for the location of an item, she was on her phone while she looked like she was supposed to b hanging something. She sucked her teeth and looked like I was bothering her just by asking her for help. She reluctantly showed me where the item was up posed to be and said they were out, I asked her if she could please check the back, she said she was absolutely sure there was not anymore. I used to work at a costume shop in Appleton, I know that the scan gun tells you if an item with similar bar codes is in the back, I asked her if she cold please scan the bar code on the price hanger, low and behold, here are plenty to spare in the back. This was a very horrible experience. One of the worst I've had and this happened this month, February of 2016. read more

Preordered balloons a week before my daughter's birthday. I specifically asked for 2 bouquets and one single balloon. When my husband picked them up they had just thrown all the balloons together into one bouquet and they were not even ready when he arrived. They claimed they didn't know how long the ribbons should be even though they specifically asked me when I ordered them the week before. They also threw a bag over them and they were all tangled. The most rude and blatantly disrespectful management team I have ever encountered! Several days ago I went to "Party City" to purchase supplies for my daughters birthday party; instead of polite and courteous service, I was initially ignored entirely. When I attempted to find someone to help me, I heard a "manager" by the name of MARILLO loudly and viciously berating a young teenage employee - ultimately threatening her with termination "if she didn't get her numbers up." Now I have no idea how an hourly employee is supposed to "increase store sales;" last time I checked, it was their job to SERVE THE CUSTOMER. I'll tell you what; were that jerk to speak to my 16 year old daughter like that, he'd have a broken nose, fat lip, black eye AND A LAWSUIT. It is a blatant violation of labor law to abuse ANY employee in that manner - especially in front of not just other employees, BUT IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS! UTTERLY SHAMEFUL AND UNPROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR. My solution to the problem, instead of breaking that guy's jaw, was to telephone to their corporate headquarters; I sat in their "answering" system for 15 minutes before I was shunted to voicemail - with the promise that they would return my call. They never did. I would rather poke myself in the eye with a dull rusty spoon, repeatedly, before rubbing hot peppers into the raw, bloody socket, than to even consider giving that store a penny of my hard earned money. And to the employees I would offer this advice; record that jackass, take it to the National Labor Relations Board and an attorney; you'll own the store in no time. read more

Went there today to get a few balloons. I asked the girl at front register if they had the specific balloon I was looking for. Her response? "Do you see that kind of balloon? If you don't see it, we don't have it and I am busy." I should've left then. But, instead, I went over to where they blow up balloons looking for a balloon with a 2 on it. I found one and asked the young lady blowing up balloons if I had to pay for it there or up front. Her response was "If you don't see a register here I clearly can't ring you up." Mind you, I had my 2yo and 4yo kids with me. I threw the balloons and the counter and left. I will never ever return to this store. Even my son asked why they were so mean to me. The Manager was incredibly rude. The line was out the door and after I finally got to pay for my son's birthday items, I waited for her to service three more people before she even acknowledged that I was still waiting to have my single floating balloon blown up. She shrugged her shoulders and told me she had to take care of a certain number of customers before she can help a walk-in. Then she went ahead with another woman's order of over 100 balloons, counting them out for her even though she was also a walk in and hadn't even paid yet. This place should probably have more staff and not leave the register unattended. Granted all I wanted was about $3 worth of candy. As an associate passed by I had mentioned to my fiance that I need to check out quick, as he was ready to leave and I was not. She looked at me and kept walking and also glanced at me three times from a top a ladder down an isle as I stood at the register, looking around for a cashier.
