Came in to exchange a costume. After the cashier did a refund on my card instead of the exchange I told her I was going to do, I was told to go to the back of the store. After waiting for 5 other customers to get their costume, I was told my costume wasn't in stock. There is no communication between employees and the return/exchange policy is bad. read more

I first came to party city because they were the only people who had confetti for a bridesmaid gift I was giving. So I came back the other day for balloons for a event. I spent WAY TOO MUCH MONEY on balloons that didn't even stay up for 4 hours. I got balloons from dollar tree and they have stayed up for at least 5 days. This is really ridiculous. Plus I was told they had a balloon bag to make it easier for the car drive. . So I paid 99 cents for literally a plastic bag but the way they described it was as if it really were something... shit I could have brought a trash bag for free. Unbelievable. Very disappointed with the customer service. Walking around with my two sons, one I'm carrying in a car seat I only find two carts available to customers. The rest are being used by employees for moving stuff for the Christmas. When I found a cart just emptied by an employee I asked for it and was told no, she was using. Just left here with my fiancé. We went to go shopping for gender reveal things for our party this weekend. Us being new parents were very excited, this girl was very rude, short and had no willingness to answer our questions that we had or help in any way. I did not get a name, but she was average height, light brown maybe blonde hair a nose ring and seemed to be Caucasian. She was very rude and made this experience for me not enjoyable to say the least. I will not be returning and I will let everyone know how unsatisfied I was with the customer service I received. This Saturday 12/03/16 around 4 pm, I went it to get a couple balloons. I observed the worst system ever. There were only three people working at the front behind the cash registers and the balloon station which should not have been such an issue if they designated a person just to the balloon station and just to the cash register. But no. The employees were going back and forth between doing the balloons and working the cash register. When one employee was in the middle of blowing up my balloons, another employee which seemed like a manager told her to go help a customer at the register leaving me to just stand there and wait. That lady who I'm guessing was manager since she was haughtily ordering the other girls to go back and forth (as a lot of retail managers do- thinking they're the sh*t because they have a "management" position... IN RETAIL, get a hold of yourself.) This caused customers to stand around looking lost; even when I first walked up to the balloon counter, I was not sure who to ask for help. I wasn't even sure if I was standing in the right place even though they are right there looking at me, without saying "we will be right with you" or giving me any acknowledgement. When I finally got helped, it took forever because they were helping multiple people at once. What kind of system is that? Horrible and unfriendly management. I'd suggest that whoever oversees the management here, reevaluates who they put on as managers. read more

Grand Events would not take an order over the phone for the balloon bouquets that I needed. I called Party City instead. The girl who helped me was very nice, and by looking at the website I was easily able to tell her what I wanted. The mylar balloons that we selected are the same ones that Grand Events carries, so I was able to get the exact same bouquets that I was going to purchase from Grand Events in the first place. The clerk charged me over the phone, and when I picked up my balloons they were perfect! read more

This has to be the worst customer service experience I ever had!!! I had purchased a good amount of items about a month and a half ago for my sons upcoming second birthday and the customer service was great THEN however my husband and I decided to change the theme of the party last minute, so I had called in today and spoke to the manager Javier who is honestly the only helping person there is in this store who accepted my return for store credit even though it was past the 30 day period and not having any receipt. As my two year old son and I came in the store We didn't get any type of welcoming at all. No "hi, how's it going" no "welcome to party city, is there anything that I can help you with?" As I got to the register I mentioned right away I was returning my party items to exchange them for a different type of theme (not asking for any money back just an exchange) and that I had spoken to Javier and that the receipt would be in the office. A older lady then helped me and was complaining that the piñata I had brought back looked as if it was broken and that I wasn't going to be able to return it. The way that I returned it was exactly the way I had purchased it, I mentioned to her that it wasn't broken and that the wire was hanging out and may just need to be placed back in (not a huge deal) she then started mentioning that I wasn't going to get any money back that all I will be getting is store credit, which I already knew and had mentioned it the first place . she was taking a while and had a receipt that was printed out from the manager and had misplaced it while scanning items and asked me where the recipe was at. I told her she was the one that had it. She then mentioned "it was just right here a moment ago" as if I had taken it... I told her I didn't have it and she kept making it seem as if I had taken it asking "well did you see it?" I just stayed quiet and let her look for it since she was the one who miss placed it. She then Found it and looked frustrated because of the exchange process and As she finished up the store credit receipt she then said "don't loose that receipt because we won't be able to do anything about it" but it seemed as if she had a little attitude. I just calmly went and grabbed the items I needed hoping I would get a different lady to help me for the check out. As I was in line I had gotten a different lady this time thinking it would be a better experience, HOWEVER it seemed as if it had gotten WORSE!!! As I came up to the register this time (again no "hi, how you doing today") I told the cashier I had a store credit receipt for the items I had in the basket. The lady then looked and verified the receipt and was quick enough to tell me " you can only use this store credit one time, does this even add up to the amount?" (Different lady, Again with an attitude) I told her I was going to get a piñata as well which was a finding dory piñata. she had a lady bring one down and I kid you not that piñata was way more BUSTED looking then the one I had brought back! (And they give me crap about a piñata that only had wires sticking out) I asked the cashier whose name is Karen if the piñata was even supposed to look like that? She replied with "NO, we shouldn't even be selling it like that" and asked the younger lady to grab another one. The younger lady just said that I can just put in candies and it would look better. (I'd rather buy one from a flea market) I told the cashier that I rather just get something else then the piñata. Once I mentioned that her attitude was unnecessary. She somewhat rolled her eyes and rudely responded with "well I have other customers that I need to ring up!" (If she knew that piñata looked fucked up to begin with why couldn't she just wait to complete the transaction and ask me if I still wanted it instead of ringing me up in a quickness and getting all rude about it when I told her I didn't want it? She even said it herself that they shouldn't even be selling them like that) I went to go get those extra 20 bucks worth of other items. As I went back in line AGAIN, IT GETS BETTER! The customer in front of me is returning some party items as well, and AGAIN that lady Karen was giving attitude. they start getting into it and start arguing and as the customer takes off Karen says something in a low tone voice towards the customer in which the customer got mad and came back and asked Karen what she had said to her and she was quick enough to say that she didn't say anything and that she was asking for the next person in line which was untrue (I was the next person in line and I know she had called her some type of name in which I did not catch) and she then started yelling at the customer repeatedly saying" GET OUT OF MY STORE!" I believe the Situation should have been handled way differently and sad to say I will no longer be doing business here...
