I love this store! I'm into decorating and putting a unique touch on everything, and this store has a lot of neat, things aside from just typical party favors and party supplies. My favorite is their selection of Luau supplies. I decorated one of my rooms with a Hawaiian nautical theme, and really cool shells, and found grass hula shirts, which I cut and made into a window valance - everyone who seen this creation couldn't believe it came from a party store for $3 bucks! Just thought I would add my voice to the negative experiences. I gave them three chances but three strikes and you are OUT! The first time I visited, the website said they had an item in stock but even when I showed an employee, they insisted it must be an error because they didn't have it, and have never carried the item. I then proceeded to look for a different alternative, which is when I in fact found the item, over 10 of them. When I pointed this out to the employee, he became rude and insisted that wasn't what I had shown him on the website. The second time I visited, there were boxes everywhere, to such an extent I actually couldn't get to the item I needed. This third time was the last straw. The website showed them as having 32 of the item I needed in stock. When I got to the store, an employee once again told me they did not carry the item I asked for but showed me what they carried that was like it. I then pulled it up on the website and asked a different employee. She directed me to the same location in the store, acting like I was a huge inconvenience the entire time. When there weren't any on the shelf and I showed her that it said there were 32 in stock, she told me they must be boxes in the back and that she had no idea when they would unpack them maybe sometime over the weekend. Her whole attitude made me feel like I was not worth her time. I have worked in customer service and retail sales for 20 years. I would never have treated a customer this way, and management would never have tolerated it. Had this happened at any business I have worked at, management would've insisted we go back to the boxes to find the item. The only reason this place is still in business and feels they can treat customers like garbage is because they are one of only two party stores in town. Well, I guess they have forgotten about the Internet, which is where I will do all of my party shopping from here on out. read more

I ordered a costume from Party City online, but it was too small. The manager of this store was so pleasant and helpful. He let me exchange the costume, found the replacement in the right size for me, made sure the price was correct so there wasn't an additional charge, and I was out of there in 5 minutes. This store has the worst customer service ever! I had a simple request from one of the employees .. I was looking for black masks for a costume and I had seen that they were just stocking the sections that those types of things are found and the mask I needed wasn't on the wall just yet.. The girl who was supposed to be stocking it had gone to lunch they told us to come back in 20 mins ...we did exactly that ... Then she tells us that's section is fully stocked ( which it obviously wasn't) and so then there were not anymore of the black colored masks... But they didn't even bother to look! They are lazy and all have shitty moods! I will never shop at this store again! read more

Holy cheap prices, Batman! I am in the midst of planning my daughter's first birthday and this place has amazing prices! I am an avid Amazon shopper, but Party City beats out the majority of Amazon's prices by a long shot. I found the invitations I was looking for for $2.00 cheaper than I was going to buy them for. Our theme is my daughter's favorite: Strawberry Shortcake: Berry Bitty City (which is the modern version of the Strawberry Shortcake cartoon we all know) and for some reason it is really hard to find all things Strawberry. Party City has a nice little section dedicated just to her and that makes me ecstatic. Aside from their fair collection of kids' cartoons. They have so many other products to choose from, all at pretty great prices. The customer service didn't match their prices dead on, but was still decent. I will definitely be back here for the rest of my party planning needs! read more

I've never been treated so rude in my life... My girlfriend and I went here probably about 20 mins before they were closing. We were just looking for fake pearls and some 1930s stuff for an event. I asked one of the girls where the pearls are and she kindly showed us. we were looking and it took us like 10 minutes to try and sort through everything since it was so disorganized and mess. A blonde girl walked up behind us saying "You need to speed this up because we are closed." At that time it was about five minutes before closing. I asked her if I was able to get the items I had in my hand? she responded with "Umm yeah just hurry up" and walked away. I set down those things and headed for the door. They had locked the door so we weren't able to get out. So, the girl who had helped us in the first place walked over to unlock the door and said "bye." No thank you for coming in or sorry about that and slammed the door behind us. That is the first and last for me. NEVER AGAIN. EVER. read more

We go here every year for Halloween costumes. Usually it's pretty close to Halloween so it's a nightmare but that's no ones fault but my own for waiting to take my kids until the last minute. This year we went a good 10 days early and it was pretty painless. I mean it was still super busy but not total insanity. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 5 is because 1) they absolutely need more than one guy calling costume numbers to the back. That poor guy was getting yelled at by people, he's only one person. I felt so bad for him. And 2) they need some sort of organization or an employee who helps with the dressing rooms. My advice, go to early for Halloween costumes and on a weekday. Your life will be much easier. read more

awful customer service!! Went in for balloons, was helped on choosing what i needed to be told to pay and to make an order to get them filled and to go back in a couple of hours to pick them up. Had no idea it was this difficult to purchase balloons!! Plus i had no time for this BS! There were just employees there and no other customers. I took my kids here to purchase them some costumes for Halloween. After about 10 minutes my kids had decided what they wanted. So we waited around while four of the store employee's just stood around and talked to each other. Some of them even looked our way and I tried to get their attention. But they just continued talking. So finally I went to the front counter and asked the lady behind the counter. After waiting another five minutes if she could get us some assistance to purchase some costumes. She said sure and walked off for a minute. She then came back and said that she could not assist me cause it was already 8:30 and they stop selling costumes at that time. Even though they don't close till 9pm. So I walked to my kids and said we had to leave and we could not get the costumes. They were visibly upset by this and I then decided to not accept that answer. So I found the manager and told her it was unacceptable to be ignored by her staff for such a long period of time then be told that we can't get what we came in for. So she eventually relented and we got the costumes for our kids. But even the manager acted like it was a complication and like we were somehow a burden. So while I'm glad my kids got the costumes they wanted. I'll never shop there again. That experience was dreadful and absolutely no one in that store acted in a professional manner. read more

This store could be a lot better. While searching for costume ideas for my daughter I decided to see what they had at party city after looking online she decided to be rainbow dash and most of the items we needed we in stock. When we got to the store we found everything except the wings, after talking to whom I assume was the manger I learned that they were still in the boxes but would be unpacked later that week. I completely understood as it was still pretty early for Halloween shopping. A week and a half later, my daughter wanted to finish her costume so I called party city to see if they unpacked the wings. The woman I talked to seemed upset to have to go look but she put me on hold and when she came back said,"yeah we have rainbow dash stuff". I tried to explain that I wanted the wings , that they were not there last time. She told me they were there. Sadly they were not there, when I talked to the manger he did confirm they were in stock but still had not been unpacked, and told me they would be unpacked later this week. I really want to support the local brick and mortar shops but this level of service is driving me to Amazon. They get two stars because most of her costume was in stock. read more
