I literally just left party city about five minutes ago and these balloons that I bought that are supposed to have the helium in them to make the balloons last longer have burst in the car!!! $30 for two damn balloons and I didn't even make it home!!! I'd also like to talk about how unhelpful their staff is. If you work at a party supply store I'm going to expect that you know how to throw a party or how to decorate for one. I'm asking if they have cute paper or something we can staple this ghetto receipt the school gives the kids as tickets. Something cute to stuff in a balloon. All of them, no ideas. Not helpful. I start browsing the aisles they have a whole football party section with invites!! Like come on girls! No ideas to help make an occasion special?? It took them 20 minutes to fill up two balloons. I sat for about five minutes and told the cashier several times exactly what I wanted her to do with the balloons it's a homecoming balloon it's got confetti inside of it and I want the homecoming ticket curled up and blown up inside the balloon I was very specific. She writes up her little ticket and passes it off to someone else who brings me back confetti filled balloons with no ticket inside. Matter fact she hands me the ticket. why would I give you the ticket if it wasn't to be used in the balloons? So we had to wait for them to go fill up two more balloons. Now the quality of the balloons sad to say was pretty ashy. Most balloons have a glossy, looks new look. These look dry and almost dusty on the outside. So now since they've popped I feel like the balloons were too old they sold me an expired product. And I also think, when she went to re do the balloons she didn't add the gel or whatever makes them last longer So they 100% ripped me off. We get to the car, drive less than 5 miles .. I was buying Mylar balloons because one of my family members got engaged so I bought some heart ones. The Caucasian blonde girl took my money and blew up 2 of the 5 balloons and then as a line started forming she stopped walked away and made us wait as she was ringing up 6 customers. I had to go to the back to find a black woman to come help. She was nonchalant to us and said it happens every day because we only have 3 people here. She was in no hurry to help. They weren't wearing name tags so I can only describe them. She did not blow my balloons up all the way so I wasted $20. They will be deflated by tomorrow. Is it asking too much to just get good service today? I'm so tired of so many not wanting to work and do a proper job. If you don't like pleasing the public then don't take a job where you will be working with them. The good: Party City is the go-to spot for unique and cool custom balloons. The prices for Halloween decor was much cheaper than I expected them to be here! You could get giant floor to shoulder balloons for $12.99 and hanging monster decor for 3 for $12! I was at a discount store before this and the value wasn't as good. They had a coffin shaped cardboard box for you to put food into on the table for $25. The bad: I bought mint chocolate Kit Kat bars here for more money than they typically cost a grocery store. The interesting: If you're here for Halloween costumes, you'll be looking at pictures of the costumes and you'll need to get a store worker to help you grab the item. They don't keep it out probably because people like to open them and make them messy. I don't know if you can try them on prior. First time i went there, i bought a balloon bouquet, there was one cashier. The rest of the employee's were on the floor restocking or just walking around. There was about 10 people in line and i finally went up to one of the employees that was walking around and asked them to go help up front because there was a bunch of people in line and one register open. I ended up waiting 45 minutes for my balloons. This last time i went, i got party supplies and balloons, again waited forever. The customer service is horrible and the employees act like they are a bunch of stoners. Pure millennials not having a care in the world and zero customer service skills. I was ready to leave, and i had a big bag of party stuff, my 3 year old and 5 bags of blown up balloons. I was parked just across the parking lot and asked if someone could help me carry out the 5 big balloon bouquets. The guy told me no, we cant do that, he's like you can leave them here and comeback. I'm sorry, but these kids that work there are lazy and need some intensive customer service training. I also paid for the stuff in the balloons to make them last 24 hours, in the pictures, it was a couple of hours after i picked them up and then again this morning. Party City... a place you would think you could go to get all your party supplies with ease. Want plates and cups? Want matching decor? OK it's most likely here... just like other large super centers in town. Want balloons? No brainier right? Well yes but if you actually want them inflated good luck!! The only thing separating Party City from just getting your party supplies at Walmart, Target or Amazon was the balloon selections. Well that is now a high risk of not always happening. I came in on a Thursday and bought a large special balloon but wanted it to be inflated closer to the birthday party date so it would not loose its float too soon. The person working there told me to pay now for the balloon, pay now for the helium and come back Monday for the inflation and it will be a snap since the birthday was Tuesday. I come in Monday excited for this balloon to be inflated in all its glory and he tells me they are out of helium. To my surprise I ask how can you be out of helium at a party supply store. He goes on to say they have been out for days and he is not sure when it will come in. I told him the birthday was the next day and he says - what time? The birthday is all day! duh! Very casually and without a single care he says - well I can refund you the helium but not the balloon. Gee thanks! Like selling a car without any gas. Don't sell promises for product you can't fulfill!! During the refund for the non existent helium I look at the balloon wall and ask - so you can buy all these balloons but getting them inflated is another story?? His response - ya pretty much. Zero cares! And don't bother with those take home helium tanks. Balloons will fall with in hours if not immediately. I learned that a few months back when I had a bunch of balloons to fill at another party. Silly me thinking going in and letting the professionals handle it would be better. I ended up taking by big balloon to Ralph's and they were great. Go figure, the grocery store was more equipped. I picked up an order that my husband placed for a community event. I had the email with the order number. I felt like I was a bother asking if I was in the right line to pickup. There were three people standing in the balloon area and seemed so irritated that I asked for help. I was given the order with very little enthusiasm. Customer service was definitely 0 stars. Just like every review on here will say - this location is absolute garbage. To begin with, this store is clearly poorly run right from the beginning. Everything (and I do mean everything) is sold out. Balloons? All displayed, most sold out. Party sets for kids? Displayed online, most have only a few pieces left. Costumes? Three per size are ordered then it's sold out. The floors are dirty, things are falling apart, nothing is cleanly organized. And don't get me started on the friggen balloons. I ordered a dozen for my sons birthday, they deflated in 45 minutes. Do your job, even if you hate it it's not fair to the kids who's birthdays you ruin by being simply lazy. This cannot be a corporately owned location because I have never seen a sadder party city in my life, and it sucks because there's no other real supplement in this valley. read more

This location is painful. There appears to be several staff here stocking and organizing, yet one on the register. Meanwhile there is 8 people in line and the line moves like molasses. I don't know if this is an issue with lack of staffing or required designated tasks in certain areas but plan on spending 10 minutes shopping and 927729 minutes in line. Long overdue review! I drove from Burbank to visit this Party City location. I was able to talk to a real person on the phone who really helped me find what I was looking for (thank you, Jasmine!!). Sadly, the Party City locations near me would not take my order over the phone and insisted that I download their app or visit the website to place an order for them to assist. These locations also didn't have the products I was looking for (which is why I drove to this Santa Clarita location). The team at this location made the drive worth it. The staff was attentive and incredibly accommodating and I couldn't have asked for better assistance. read more

Went to pick up Minnie Mouse decorations, on the web page it says most was in stock. When I come to the store though there is literally nothing ! No balloons, no plates , no napkins. Also of course I wanted the #2 candle and can you guess what number they were completely out of . Also over a twenty minute wait for balloons but didn't have to wait since they had absolutely no Minnie Mouse balloons. I just wanted to say thank you to Sabrina (i believe that was her name). She was so helpful with all the balloons i had blown up for my gender reveal. She also helped my friend who brought our gender reveal balloon/powder & poured it into the balloon for her. VERY RUDE STAFF!! I walked into the store 10 minutes before closing. As I was walking in I saw the store times on the door and realized they closed at 8pm. I've worked customer service jobs and I'm a very mindful customer at closing times. Lady at the register informed me they were closing so I was glancing to quickly grab what I needed. Daniel T. really went above and beyond to help us. Went there to pick up an online order and thought it would be super easy...WRONG! Thankfully Daniel and I inspected the costume before leaving the store and realized the online description was way off! He helped us look for alternative options despite having a store full of customers all scrambling for last minute costumes. He was so helpful and patient the entire time while still taking care of others in the store. We finally found a costume and size I wanted and realized that only one store an hour away had 1 in stock! He made the call and pleaded with them to place it on hold for me after he was told they don't place holds. I made the hour long drive...the pick up experience is a whole other story. My wife had bought a set of balloons today and not even 3 hours later they're already deflated. She also mentioned as soon as they leave the property it is not Party City's responsibility, so in order to refill them you would need to pay an additional $11 to fix a deflated balloon. That was the most disgusting restroom ever! you could see the grime built up on the walls, the floor was sticky (eweeeee!) the sink has a coat of grime and dirt that does not look to be recent, like this restroom has NEVER been cleaned. I'm a pretty avid online shopper, however when time is of the essence and you've forgotten to buy items online specific for a party, Party City is almost always the place to go. Everyone is pretty familiar with a Party City and what they have to offer so I won't bore you with what's already common knowledge. I did however inquire about balloon pricing, just the regular latex ones. It costs $12/dozen, otherwise if you bring in your own balloon it's $1.99 so you're better off just using their product. Also, I made an impulsive and desperate purchase as I needed items to fill my decorative glass jars for a dessert table: -Two 18 count rock candy jars -Four 40 ounce tubs of Sixlets Each of those items was $14.99 a piece, that's a hefty price for just candy, just a little shy of $100. Daaaang! I ended up returning the unopened items the next day, I could not justify spending that much money on candy. I ended up buying a bulk size tub of pretzels and white chocolate melts, dipping half the pretzel into the melted chocolate. It turned out great and I saved a TON of money!!! Anyway, the staff is average at this Party City and the aisles are fairly organized and clean. Be wary of aggressive drivers in the parking lot, even as a pedestrian. Otherwise, Party City is an A-OK place to pick up items if you're in a crunch. read more

I found what I needed here for my son's birthday, the selection is large, but the customer service was absolutely non existent. The carts were all over the parking lot with none in the store. No problem to grab one from outside, but one of the 6 employees behind the desk chatting and getting PAID definitely could have handled that. When I came up to the register with my cart overflowing, the register girl didn't even acknowledge me, just picked up the stuff I put on the counter and started to scan it. I went to ask about the return policy if I overbought and she was clearly irritated that I was interrupting her conversation with another employee. She gave me a three word answer and went right back to talking. A few other girls came and joined the conversation and then they started talking about other employees! I felt like I was interrupting a sleepover instead of spending money at a BUSINESS. Zero stars if I could for lack of customer service and organization. I get it, it's Halloween time but the store is a DISASTER and everything is sold out. Don't waste your time here. The real reason I'm upset is: Today I placed an online order at 9 am knowing I had limited time to pick up what I needed. Michaels said that they had one left of the item I was looking for so I placed it before someone else bought it. I get the store at 1 even though they never sent me an email that my order was ready. Clearly, they last minute put my order together once I was there. I wait ten minutes for my order and get one of the two items. I asked them where the second item was and the kid responded "we cancelled it." Straight face no sympathy. Me: "um why?" Kid: "we didn't have it" me: "the website said you had it in stock" kid "well we don't. You'll get your refund." Not even a sorry or anything. So the chance of someone buying the item I already paid for because they procrastinated putting my order together is extremely high. I would have cancelled the entire order and taken my business elsewhere seeing they didn't even notify me that the one item I NEEDED was out of stock. Not to mention, I would have found another store I could get it at and now I have no time to do so. The lack of customer service and rudeness from the child who was "helping" me wasn't okay and I won't buy from this store ever again. Also the kid threw my recipe away so I have no printed confirmation of my order. Someone throw party city a line because this business is sinking!!!! Waited an hour for a simple balloon arrangement, nothing fancy or exotic. While waiting I stood back and observed the employees. None of them appeared to know what they were doing. They were confused and had very little knowledge of information when asked by a customer. In the mean time, the customer line grew by persons with folded arms and rolling eyes. Finally my balloons arrived!!! But, they weren't the ones I ordered. Extensive variety of cute items, everything you could want for a party. However, entire cash register procedure needs to be overhauled. Even though there are employees restocking items throughout the store, they are apparently not authorized or called to come to the front to help the lone cashier in the checkout area. That cashier also has to blow up balloons while the line of customers waiting to pay grows and grows. Every time we stop by to buy party decorations, we have to wait in a line that does not move. This poor review is for the Manager Penny for the ONLY party city left in SCV. I came in to return an electronic disco ball I purchased for my son's birthday that was nothing like the box it came in, it was half the size of the item pictured on the box & the lights were so dim it wouldn't even reflect off of any walls or at all! I had to go through TWO employees that kept going back & forth with her through their headsets before I asked to speak directly to her, apparently electronics are FINAL SALE though it doesn't say that anywhere on the receipt NOR was it stated the day of purchase. Mind you I needed this two weeks ago for my son's birthday, not for anything coming up so an exchange was not a solution for me. The icing on the cake was when Penny came to the front and argued her "policy" with me in front of a line of people and also told me "I should've come in sooner" EXCUSE ME??
