I went into my search for my dream designer wedding gown with requirements that the shops I'd consider would offer in-house alterations and storage of my gown until my wedding. La Belle Mariee checked the boxes, was around the corner from my home for fittings, and I couldn't wait for my appointment! I had the absolute best SALES experience at La Belle Mariee Bridal. Unfortunately selling me things was where any positive experience ended. My consultant was fantastic. She even told me that if I bought a veil there, they'd store it until my wedding along with my dress, and that they lend their sample veils out for hair and makeup trials so the bride's doesn't get dirty. This influenced me to purchase a veil for over $500 because that sounds fabulous, doesn't it? This turned out to be totally untrue. I called to sign out the sample for my trial and was told they cannot honor that promise... only a few months later. Totally surprising and disappointing when one of the reasons I bought that veil was that I could use the loaner for my trial. So that was terrible, but months later, there was more. Sadly, I had to go pick up my wedding dress and veil after they alerted me via a BLAST EMAIL to all brides that they are no longer doing alterations and to come pick your items up. I feel this message should have been delivered via a personal phone call because the impact is significant. It was so impersonal, especially when spending thousands of dollars with them. I would expect this kind of communication from David's Bridal, and there is a reason I never went to David's Bridal. I wanted better, and I deserve better service at this price point on my luxury designer gown. When I expressed to the owner my frustration that the impact is significant to me because I don't have the ability to store my items in my own home due to major construction, and would have to store them at my mom's house and bring them back and forth between there and a seamstress, she told me it's only significant if I choose to make it that way. Nobody cared about my experience as a customer and how stressful this has been for me. If you are looking to buy an experience (one-stop shopping, storage, onsite alterations) like I was, not just a gown, I highly recommend shopping elsewhere. They totally bait and switched on me twice. Now I have had to store my gown at my mom's house, hired a separate seamstress, coordinated driving my dress between my mom's house and the seamstress's house... as if I didn't have enough to worry about as a bride and mother with a full time job. Beyond the initial sale, everything was a disappointment. The right thing to do would have been to honor the commitment to brides who have made their purchases already and offer the advertised onsite alterations to them, but not offer that service to any additional brides. There are a ton of bridal shops in this area.... Wish I'd chosen to look at some of the other shops before ending up at this one. I originally posted this review months ago when everything happened and was contacted by the owner the same day. She asked me to take the review down because it was hurting her business. However, this is simply an accurate account of what I experienced as a customer and I am entitled to share that with other consumers. Instead of accepting that not every customer has a great experience and using the feedback to do better for others in the future, the owner called me twice more asking me to take the review down, then told me that if I did not do so, she would tell the recommended seamstresses in this area not to work on my dress because I am a "difficult customer". I was so angry and sad about all the added stress and cried so much over how I was treated. She scared me and I removed my review. Now that a wonderful seamstress has taken great care of me and everything is complete on my beautiful dress, other consumers deserve to make informed decisions. I hope that this business can accept honest feedback on the experience they provided to me as a customer and use it to do better for others in the future. read more

I can't recommend this bridal store more! I came in with a vague idea of the style I wanted, which I shared with my consultant Sarah, but also an open mind. Sarah helped pick countless styles from the floor to help narrow down what I really wanted. She was extremely patient the entire time, and helped me hone in what I actually liked. I ended up saying yes to the dress - to a dress I did not even ever have in mind- the same day! Granted, it took me a few hours, but she never made me feel rushed or like I was an annoyance (which I'm sure my indecision was...). I thought I wanted a lacy A Line and ended up with a crepe silhouette that she picked out! I loved that she even took the time to let me try on my top 2 choices twice...to really help me decide on THEE dress! I haven't received the dress yet & unfortunately moved from out of town so won't be able to get my alterations here, but she said the dress could even be shipped directly to me. Overall it was a lovely experience! I can update the review once I receive my dress as well. The store itself is also gorgeous, clean, and has private section for each bride. I was recommended this place by a friend that recently bought her dress here and I did not regret coming here! I made an appointment and came in on a Saturday afternoon with my mom and a couple of my friends. I tried on about 5 dresses and all of them were amazing. It was so hard to decide but we finally said YES TO THE DRESS! I personally love a more romantic style of dresses, mermaid style and lace and I found so many of them here. The owner was such a pleasure to work with; made me feel so comfortable changing in and out of the dresses and really worked with my budget. I wanted to like this place more than I did. I kind of had an idea going in that I wanted A-line and I just felt like a lot of their dresses were quite similar to each other. I don't feel like I was able to experiment very much with different looks within the style. Additionally there is something to be said about a really knowledgable sales person. Throughout the consult, I kept asking if there is anything they think I'm missing or should try on. While I have a good idea of what I like, I'm also relying on my consultant to show me what I'll look amazing in. I don't feel like I really got that here. This is the worst bridal experience for my daughter. We went together to get her a gorgeous gown and a couple of months after it was ordered, she was told that they no longer offer the promised alterations. We have to lug that big gown and veil to a seamstress for alterations, and that wasn't part of the very expensive deal. So today, when we went to pick up the dress, even though my daughter's wedding isn't until October, and I have to store it in my house until the alterations in July, the sales person seemed to think it was funny and felt it was a personal attack on her. I told her before I voiced my opinion and all through it, that this wasn't directed at her but she smiled through the whole thing and decided to make it all about her. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS BRIDAL STORE TO ANY BRIDE WHO DOESN'T WANT TO BE DECEIVED. Brides, pass store up and go elsewhere, nobody should have to take their big bulky gown somewhere else to get alterations and store it for months before that. They did offer to store it after I voiced my opinion but who would trust them after being deceived, they'll probably close and that's why the change in policy... OUTRAGEOUS. read more

My experience here was AMAZING. I've been shopping for my wedding dress for awhile and been to several shops. By far the least pushy and very upfront and honest about prices. I came in back in January the day I was heading back to Chicago. Rachel was so helpful and accomodating. I emailed to schedule my appointment, and they asked several questions about what types of dresses I was interested in looking at. I gave her my honest budget and we went straight for the wtoo (which I was hoping for). As we walked the racks, I would say I was much more daring with my choices, but Rachel encouraged me to just try things on. She was so nice, and even shared that she had just gotten engaged! We opened up shop that day so I actually had my man of Honor on the phone and my mom with me to help as I tried on dresses. They give you your own little room when it's not too crowded. I tried on ten dresses and had a solid top three. The final dress I tried on, I fell in love with. It was completely different than I had ever imagined and it was amazing. One of the owners kept coming by and telling me that I looked great in all of them. As Rachel saw that I loved the final dress so much she brought me out into the front room to see myself in the natural light, and asked if I was saying yes to this dress. I wanted to be sure, so I unfortunately said that I would try others on again. After I week, I did get my dress and I am so over the moon happy for it! I can't to wear it on my and my fiances big day. It's an aire barcelona and completely different than I could have ever imagined. I cannot say enough about the experience that we had dealing with this shop and the proprietors. They are super accommodating. They were very flexible to satisfy my daughter's choices for a wedding dress. The dress was outstanding and the their willingness to make changes was superb. For value for money, they are at the top...and we had gone to many other shops to be sure we had good comparisons. LBM is amazing! I worked closely with Sarah and Gabrielle (one of the owners), and had a great experience with both of them. My dress came in and I went to try it on 7 weeks before my wedding, and the designer added something to it that was not supposed to be there. LBM tried to fix the designers mistake, but unfortunately it was still noticeable. So, at their suggestion, they reached out to the designer and had a whole new piece of my dress sent in, and had it replaced and ready within 2 weeks for me to see at my next fitting. Sarah and Gabrielle fought to get my dress fixed, and really went above and beyond to make my dress perfect. They made the process so much less stressful than it could have been, and were just wonderful to work with! I HIGHLY recommend this bridal shop. They're wonderful! read more

Happened to stumble upon this place while driving home from work one day and stopped in to take a look around. From the moment you walk in it's breathtaking such beautiful gowns. I was greeted by Danielle who set me up with an appointment to come back and try on some gowns. She was awesome!! Very warm, friendly and down to earth. At no point did I feel pressured to make a decision. After pulling some gowns that we thought would look best I finally found the one and said YES TO THE DRESS! I felt great in the gown and Danielle's kind words and warm smile really helped complete that feeling. Today I came home after a rough day and had a hand written card in the mail from Danielle. I'm not really sure where to begin.... I had the most incredible experience at La Belle Mariee Bridal while searching for the perfect dress. I was with my mom and bridesmaids and we were at our second location of the day. At this point I had found 2 dresses I liked but wasn't in love with. What made the experience even better was our stylist allowed my girls and I choose the dresses. So we raided the racks and were pulling out so many. It was a fun experience. The dresses were ones that I didn't see on every other rack in other bridal store. They were so unique and beautiful. We had out own personal dressing room and styling room. I felt so important! Once I found "the dress" there wasn't a dry eye in the room. Of course it was out of the price range I had set for myself but I couldn't pass up the fact that everything about this dress was what I was looking for. I felt like a princess! I was able to walk around and keep the dress on for as long as I wanted. My stylist was even so wonderful to give suggestions, which were top notch, and so helpful with getting into and out of the dresses. My stylist, Rachel, made my experience even more memorable. We have great conversation and she was so accommodating. Along with her and my overall experience, these were deciding factors on saying YES to my dress. I HIGHLY recommend La Belle Mariee to anyone! I went wedding dress shopping with a friend at this store last night. After being at many stores in Philadelphia, we decided to try this store in Newtown. It was def the best store that we had been to the whole experience. First, they have the most inventory! Two rooms full of beautiful dresses. They were really accommodating and let us browse and pick out some of the dresses she wanted to try on. The store itself is beautiful and very clean. We had a private back room. They let her try on as many dresses as she wanted and go back and forth between a few a few times to make sure she was certain. She found her dress! They celebrated with us with champagne. I live in Rittenhouse and visited so many bridal salons in Philly and the surrounding area. I started to panic that I wouldn't be able to find a dress in the area so I started making appointments in NYC and Chicago. All of my anxiety ended when I visited La Belle Mariee. I was skeptical at first, another place in the burbs... but I was blown away. The staff was by far the most welcoming and my consultant Chloe is the sweetest and most patient. She allowed me to go past my appointment time and brought every dress she thought maybe could be the one. The owners were also there assisting me and giving me their HONEST opinions! As a bride looking for a dress (after trying a million on) their honesty was so comforting. I said YES to a gorgeous Berta gown and recommend this salon to even the most discerning brides. Their selection is great, at any price point unlike others who have more affordable gowns and then very expensive. My only regret is not going to La Belle Mariee first. read more

This was the first store I went to and I fell in love with the second dress I tried on. Their selection has so much variety, which I truly appreciated. La Belle Mariee was the third and final bridal dress shop I went to. They offer an array of beautiful dresses and the best bridal brands. When you walk in you are just overwhelmed by how exquisite the atmosphere is that they have created. The store was willing to open earlier for me because I was coming from out of town. Jackie was fabulous and put me in a ton of great dresses and then we found the one! Deena was also great to work with throughout the process. I did spend a little more than I wanted, but I have to say the quality of the dress was worth it and really showed in pictures. Today I found my dream dress for my son's wedding! Thanks to Gabrielle, I was able to finally (whew!) find the perfect dress! I stopped by last week and was browsing, and Gabrielle (and her mom Michelle) were so sweet, friendly , and helpful. Loved 2 dresses that I tried on but was not sure. Stopped in at 5 other places. Most had friendly personnel but not the 'feel' I had with Gabrielle. Was on my way to two bigger shops, 45+ minutes away this Morning, when I decided... Why? Why drive so far when it's right here!! Love the dress and Gabrielle!! 10 minutes away and perfect! Had such fun with this sweet, talented and personable girl! Highly recommend this shop! Mother and daughter are wonderful!! Should be called Murphy's Law Bridal. Literally every thing that could have been messed up, was royally screwed up with our dresses. Go ANYWHERE but here. I am a bridesmaid in a large wedding party (12 maids) and this boutique contains the most dysfunctional, incompetent group of people I have ever encountered. First, the price. We were told one thing and when the order was placed, found out it was actually DOUBLE that. Enough girls called in to complain that they negotiated the price down a bit (not to what we were expecting, but better than the actual). Then the sizing. Some girls were told to order the size dress we all tried on (something like a size 12?) when they were CLEARLY no more than a size 4. Must have been trying to make back what they lost on the original price in alteration costs... Then, the length. Some girls needed extra length. Other girls did not. Maybe ONE of the girls who needed (and paid for) the extra length, got extra length on their dress. Others that did not need the length, got the extra length that other girls had needed and paid for. We're down to a month before the wedding, mind you and these dresses are now discontinued. I went in for my final fitting and it was perfect except for a small adjustment on the beading which I paid for at the time of the fitting and asked to have the bride or another maid pick up for me as I live an hour away and 2 trips was already too many. (PS. $20 to adjust a thin beaded strap is ridiculous; should have gotten it altered elsewhere. Hindsight is always 20/20, right?) When the bride went to pick up my dress today, she was told it still needed to be steamed (Why wait a month to steam? Was it even altered?) and that I had a balance of $20 still. I sent a photo of my receipt in and settled in to write this review. I can guarantee that none of the girls in this bridal party will be coming back here for their weddings nor referring this place to any of our friends. I was a bride in distress last week looking for a bridal shop close to Delaware that carried a specific designer for a veil. I was going through a terrible experience with the shop I had purchased mine from. So I called and spoke with Rachel and another woman. I explained my situation and told them the designer and item # for my veil. THEY WERE SO HELPFUL. They got on the phone with the designer to see if I could order and rush my veil to be here in time! My veil ended up showing up at the shop I purchased it from, but I just wanted to say THANK YOU to the ladies of this Bridal shop! My MOB dress came in wrong and the correct one did not come in until one week before the wedding. ( I ordered in Feb for Sept wedding). I asked to come in when convenient for me for alterations, but they would not give me any special treatment,,,only when the seamstress was available. Dress was too big and really needed more work done, but there was not time since it arrived so late. Well I cry every time I see a pic. It is not fitted at all and looks like crap. Paid $$$$. I didn't even want to be in pictures. They were so nonchalant about it, saying it happens all the time,,like it is acceptable! I was consulted before the appointment over the phone about what I'm looking for, my price range, my wedding date, etc. When the time comes for my appointment, I drive over an hour only to find out they don't have a single dress in the store for my $2,000 price limit. (I don't understand why they wouldn't just tell me that over the phone.) They wasted my time; and the consultant humiliated me and my family by pulling dresses that were nothing close to what she knew I wanted by telling me they could make minimal mark downs to try to get dresses within my budget.
