Once I finish trying on the first couple dresses she told me to go look for more. The time is 350 and i am told that they close at 4. Right when we picked out all these dresses. So obviously we felt like we needed to leave so we did not try on all the dresses she told us to pic out. Then we go to leave and the door is locked and followed us to the door and locked it again. We also drove an hour and a half which they knew that. I am very disappointed with the way this situation went.

Upon entering for a scheduled appointment for my daughter's prom dress we were greeted with our sales consultant Casey, the immediate impression she exuded was one that she was not looking forward to . My daughter needed a larger size gown for which the consultant took her to the back room showed her where those gowns were and explained the process of picking dresses. Once the consultant received more clients she seemed overwhelmed and distracted. My daughter tried on a number of gowns one in particular that she started with she actually did not like and put away however at the end of the process she wanted to try this again on one more time just to make sure. In trying this dress on one more time she decided that she really liked it and asked if it came in a larger size she then proceeded to ask the owner if the dress came in a larger size once the owner came in and looked at my daughter she looked her up and down turned around and never acknowledged her again nor did she receive an answer as to whether the dress came in a larger size. During this whole visit the entire time we were there I was not impressed one bit. The owner was unwelcoming and seemed very judgmental of thse not fitting the "standard." The Consultants were not friendly nor accommodating. In my honest opinion I would never recommend this location for any young lady especially one that requires a larger size. And aside from needing a larger size I would still not recommend this establishment. I personally felt that we were looked at like we "weren't good enough" to be there. Golden Asp----Money has no size.....just remember that when you welcome your future clients.

We now have a formal room & specialize in prom dresses & mother of the bride/groom gowns. We do not accept many brands & Forever 21 is one of them. We may seem expensive to experienced thrift shop shoppers because we are not a thrift (which operates on donations)but an upscale ladies consignment shop. I walked in and was greeted by a couple of employees. One lady was familiar to me as I remembered her from a prior visit to store, her name was Laurel. I walked around with my bag in the cuff of my elbow. This one particular employee who did not greet me kept looking at me, as I walked past her she was trying to look in my Jos. A. Banks bag as I walked by, it was freaking obvious. I stopped at a rack and looked at the clothes and guess who was close by. As I went to the counter to pay for the various earrings that I was going to purchase, oh the bill came up to $175.00, the associate was at the counter talking to another customer who was checking out. As I finished my sale, I asked Laurel and the dark haired assoc. who the woman was and she said that her name was "Liz, she's the owner". I told them that I wasn't feeling her and that she was trying to look inside my bag as I walked by. Liz made me feel very uncomfortable today. I guessed she assumed that because I'm a BLACK female that I was going to steal. I left the store and was hurt and angry. I still may call up to the store. Liz made my usually happy experience a stomach turning experience today. This was the first time I saw her as I have not seen her in the store on previous visits. I have been to the Skippack location which is closer to my house in the past with NO issues. This is the first time that I was humiliated at the Horsham store which is close to my job. I love the merchandise at Head Over Heels but it's not worth the humiliation of being followed or looked at suspiciously. Sadly this will probably be my LAST visit at the Horsham location. I may be done completely especially if Liz is the owner of all of these stores. Racism is alive and real.

Today, I was let down. I had scheduled a girls day with my mom which included shopping here. My mom had a few returns. Apparently it had been ~35 days since her purchase and the policy is ~21 days. I appreciate policy; however, I'm in the customer service business and fully recognize some instances require an exception. A few things to note: 1. It was very recent since the original purchase. 2. My mom alone spends a TON of money in this store - as do I, and her girlfriends, all of whom she has personally introduced the store to (in other words, she's always sending business to this company). 3. Upon pushback from the associates, we asked the girl to call the owner - Kristin. Kristin shockingly denied the return request (FOR STORE CREDIT) because of the "quick turnover of clothes on the floor". I actually buy into this logic - HOWEVER, WHAT MY MOM WAS RETURNING WAS, IN FACT, STILL ON THE FLOOR. It candidly felt like a bad canned response. I'm shocked they wouldn't make an exception for a (very) frequent customer. The girls behind the desk were also difficult when we were showing some store credit we have (which, incidentally, was given to us as a result of spending so much money there). At this point, we are struggling to find a reason to shop here. Big retailers have better sales, larger selections, and significantly better return policy. By my last appointment, I had spent almost triple the price of my MOG gown, but I was pleased to have supported a female-owned small business, and I told the owner, Sara, exactly that. . When I left the store my MOG gown fit perfectly. Rocky and Sara packed it for me, and I was assured they had sold lots of dresses by this manufacturer, and the dress would travel well. That was not the case. Getting dressed for the wedding I discovered the length of the gown had "grown" approximately three inches. I walked my son down the aisle with the skirt portion hiked up under my armpits. As the day progressed, so did the length. Instead of the flowy, sequin top I dreamed of, rolls of fabric are apparent in every picture, as I hiked the skirt higher. I made a follow-up appointment at BS. No one argued that the dress had "grown." Sara immediately told me she wasn't giving me a refund. I asked her to contact the manufacturer on my behalf. She refused, arguing that the material was not defective and insinuating I had worn different shoes or undergarments. Rocky was sympathetic. The seamstress made no comment on the material but pinned the skirt to be re-hemmed. Of course this wasn't BS's fault. Nor can they give me a redo on my son's wedding. But a little compassion and customer appreciation would've gone a long way. Yesterday, I picked the dress up for the last time. Sara saw me but said nothing. I left, then decided to come back in and talk to her, which I did quietly, in the back of the store, away from other employees and customers. I wanted to give her the chance to do the right thing - something, anything to keep me as a customer. I said I wouldn't be returning. Her response was a blasé "okay." When I asked her if she knew why, her comments were shockingly accusatory, and she asked me to leave the store and not return. The entire exchange happened in less than a minute. Management's unwillingness to take any responsibility and heartless lack of empathy prompted me to write my first YELP review. Buyer beware.

The seamstress was very kind and offered to fix it, but I didn't trust the dress would hold up. What really shocked me was how I was treated. A staff member (or owner?) accused me of lying about and when I bought it, insisting it must be old and that I'd already worn it. Thinking of replacing the dress, I tried on a few other dresses, and was told there was "no way" I could be the smaller size I mentioned, even though the larger dresses were all way too big on me. Overall, the service was unprofessional and unnecessarily rude. I left feeling disappointed and disrespected--definitely not the experience you'd expect when buying something special. There were some nice/kind staff people but not enough to make up for the rudeness and being accused of lying. updated based on BS's comments: the dress was in fact not fixed to perfection and I ended up sewing a column of beads on the dress after it was fixed. But moreso, in my opinion, Berta Sawyer's response validates my initial review and how they treat customers.
