I lodged a complaint with the NY AG's office and FTC but nothing was done.

Rubies Costumes is also known as Costumes.com and costumesupercenter.com They advertise same day and next day shipping for items that they actually do not have in stock or plan to sell, but they take consumer funds for it and hold the money for months. I purchased a costume in MAY. It is AUGUST and they still have not shipped the item. When I reached out in June, they said "system upgrades preventing shipping"....and that it would ship in the next week. It didn't ship. I followed up again and was told the same thing--system upgrades. It had been 5 weeks at that point. I followed up again and was told the same thing. So I left a review on their site and they deleted it (violating the CRFA) and emailed me telling me that I could cancel if I couldn't wait and INDEFINITE amount of time and they refused to tell me why now the item was not shipped since they were now advertising the costume with next day shipping but not sending mine. I asked them to clarify how a system upgrade could possibly affect shipping FOR MONTHS and also asked why they were advertising the same costume as SAME DAY SHIPPING on their site if their "system upgrade' was still 'affecting shipping'. They ignored me. I followed up again They ignored me. I followed up again. They ignored me. I followed up again. They ignored me. It's August. They took my money in MAY. They never shipped the costume, but they are taking people's money for costumes they don't have in stock. This is a pattern for this company. After researching consumer complaints, this is what they do to consumers. This is fraud, this is a violation of advertising laws. This is clear cut deceptive practices. They are still advertising the costume with next day shipping as I write this complaint. Today, I finally filed a complaint and contacted their corporate offices and instead of apologizing and shipping the order, they cancelled it and called me a liar. I have all the proof, but they don't care about customers or customer service.

They have entire sections of specialized apparel ranging from zombie to cop to dominatrix and BDSM. Steam punk, cowboys and country, retro 50s, 60s hippies, 70s. Anything you need for Halloween, plays/shows/productions, or events, you can find it here. Tons of people to help at every corner of the store, and all are attentive and kind. Also a lot of photo ops around the store, including a Heath Ledger joker, various Child's Play alum, Art the Clown, Michael Myers, and a ton of other huge animatronics and props.

Johnathan the magician showed up 30 minutes late due to traffic-however upon his arrival he quickly appeased the energetic little people with balloon twisting and fun. The kids were on him like swarming sharks and I was just deeply relieved to have the focus redirected off the destruction of my home. The magic performance overall was delightful, even the adults were impressed and the children riveted. I felt that the wait was well worth it, and I will happily reccomend Salazar to fellow parents.

They arrived right on time and were able to set up easily even with some space constraints from my venue. The magician started with balloon animals that all the lil ones loved.. and then the magic show even captivated the adults! I laughed so much during it!The face painter was very good. She was able to make really detailed and beautiful face paint based off of pretty much any picture or idea you gave her! Every single kid loved their design and couldn't stop showing off! I got measured, and she picked out a 3-piece tux, bowtie, suspenders and shoes. Way less money than I thought a tux rental would be. She was super nice and seemed generally-interested in engaging in conversation and hearing my wife and I's story. A week before the wedding, I came back to pick up the tux. There was a guy in the back (I forgot his name) who had me try everything on. He was kinda quiet; didn't really ask how anything felt. We discovered the sleeves were a little long, so he told us to wait 15 minutes while he made some alterations. It turned into more like 45 minutes. And he didn't even have me try on the altered suit. I kinda just trusted his judgement. Thankfully, everything worked out in the end. Suit fit great, wedding was great, and everything was returned without incident. So all in all, I would definitely return.
