    Pasquale with our puppy!!
    Arpita B.

We adopted a golden-lab puppy recently and engaged Pasquale for obedience training (for the 12weeks old pup). Pasquale was very punctual for the conveniently scheduled in-home training sessions. He taught basic commands to the puppy and taught us how to train him. He has been very patient with all the queries we have. The sessions were customized to incorporate any training that we thought was needed for the puppy. After each session he sends an email to recap the training session and provides the practice steps till the next session (Our Homework :) ). He also shared a document with details about basic obedience training/commands. The document is very informative and helpful. Pasquale also promptly replies to any queries we email him. This has really helped us a lot. My husband is very comfortable around pets but even though I liked dogs and found them cute, I wasn't fully comfortable around them. Pasquale not only trained our puppy but he also taught me how to interact with a dog. Thanks to him I feel confident and comfortable with the dogs now and able to enjoy my puppy's puppyhood :) We definitely recommend him, especially to the first time parents like us as he's calm, friendly, creative and very patient with the dog and the parents.

We were able to put a bow on Brie with the Sit/Stay commands and plenty of treats!

He chewed my furniture, jumped on everyone, pulled the leash constantly, and tried to eat everything off the street. Since working with Angela, he's made huge progress in every area. While he's still a puppy and has his moments, he now pulls much less on walks, chews far less, and is generally much more obedient. Angela uses positive reinforcement, and Vesuvius absolutely loves seeing her -- his tail starts wagging the second she arrives. Beyond training, Angela is incredibly knowledgeable about dogs and shares valuable advice on health, products, and how to better understand the way dogs see the world. She's always punctual, caring, and checks in on him if he's not feeling well or if any issues come up. It's clear she truly loves what she does and genuinely cares about the dogs she works with. I highly recommend Angela -- she's made life with my pup so much easier and more enjoyable.

For context, I have a 2 year old anxious labradoodle named Gus. When he was approached by new people he would aggressively bark and growl. I had worked with another dog trainer for over a year -- his problems just became worse. I became reluctant to do things with Gus because I was fearful he would growl/bark/act inappropriately when meeting new people. I was at my wits end and I consulted with a well respected training program here in NYC that said he was a "moderate to severe case" and would need multiple weeks of boarding training + years of follow up training to address his issues. Anthony solved Gus's problems in 1 session. Yes, 1 session... Within seconds of meeting him, Anthony just "got" Gus. His advice and feedback was completely different from the feedback I got from the other trainers and Gus responded immediately. I am not exaggerating when I say that Gus has not growled or barked at a single stranger since working with Anthony. I have been able to do so much with Gus and he seems so much calmer, happier and more confident than he was before. I only wish I had reached out to Anthony a year and a half ago. TL;DR- Don't waste your time or money with other trainers. Call Anthony today. You will be glad you did.

Anthony impressed upon me how important social play is for dogs to PURGE THE ENERGY out. Not going to lie, i LOVE to walk with dogs, and sitting around while THEY play was not my thing. LOL. WORLD OF A DIFFERENCE it has made. Benny is a great walker now (not pulling 90% of the time). He knows how to act when other dogs walk by us as he is rewarded to meet them after behaving! He's doing so well. Still a little touchy on the running toddlers and guarding, but I am confident we'll get there thanks for Anthony's guidance! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM, especially for new pups and rescue dogs!

Book your appointments early! He books up quick (he's that great). He is also very personale which is a huge plus. During our consultation he immediately told me that three sessions would be the best package based off of the information I told him. I appreciated his honesty and he the fact he did not try to upsell me. During the first 10/15 minutes of meeting our pup, he provided his diagnosis. Not only that, he taught us something that corrected one of his behaviors before the end of the session. His first session was December 2020. We followed the instructions from the first session until his second session in February 2021. At first the appointments being spread out concerned us but, as soon as he came over, it was seamless and we picked up where we left off. He taught us more techniques and made it clear he was available for any questions until the next session. He implemented effective changes that were easy to teach and transferrable in addressing different behaviors. Todd completed his final session this month and the overall differences are notable. He addressed hand shyness, when company comes over, leash and collar changes, better obedience (shibas are stubborn), walking techniques, reactions/reinforcements, as well as better play techniques. I have already recommended him to a friend. Book him, you won't regret it!

My girlfriend and I contacted Dominik for some help with our 1.5 year old goldendoodle, Benny…read more Benny is a great dog but after training him ourselves for the first year or so we still needed to clean up a few areas of concern. We asked Dominik for help with the following: - Leash training. Despite trying to train basic leash skills with Benny it often felt like my girlfriend & I were out on a walk WITH HIM as opposed to the other way around. When he smelled or saw something interesting (plants, trees, stop signs, NYC street food aka chicken bones) he would quickly divert his path to go check that thing out & it would take us quite a bit of convincing to get him back at our side & walking again. - Reactivity to other dogs, and sometimes children, on the street. Benny would typically lay down prone when passing other dogs or children on bikes/scooters, encouraging them to come up to him, and then he would quickly pop up to say hello - sometimes startling the other dog and/or owner. We wanted him to stop with the laying down in the middle of the sidewalk & stop quickly popping up to say hello. - Reactivity to guests (expected or not) & delivery people. Benny would bark and growl anytime someone approached our front door or entered the house. Dominik helped us understand some of the bad habits we were utilizing as handlers and how they played into some of the behaviors we wanted to correct. Since working with Dominik Benny no longer lays down on the street to greet other dogs; he's still very curious and will look in their direction but he remains at our side without breaking stride. Along those lines, our walks are much more enjoyable now that he is obedient on leash, listens to our commands, and maintains eye contact/attention on us throughout our walks. Lastly, our final session was yesterday and we worked specifically on reactivity to unexpected guests and by utilizing place training + a positive reward system Benny was no longer growling at our friend who was there to act as a guest for the training session. Dominik also helped us work on off-leash recall skills & a proper heel position. Not only did he help us become better dog parents; he also helped Benny to be more confident when in new scenarios & improved his overall obedience. Dominik also introduced us to some tools that we were not familiar with (slip lead, clicker training, place board) and somewhat uncomfortable with before he taught us the proper techniques to utilize them (prong collar). We'll be utilizing all of these tools moving forward as they have been a massive aid. After 6 sessions with Dominik we feel more informed, prepared, & confident in continuing Benny's training. We can't thank Dominik enough.

The training sessions that followed helped transform my pup from an extreme leash tugger with zero regard for my attempts at recall and a tendency to eat things that landed her in the ER into an attuned dog who, despite still making her way out of the teenage phase, is now pleasant to take on walks, fun to play with off leash, and often gets praised by unknowing strangers as "so calm" and "well trained." We achieved this during a perfect storm of digestive challenges limiting the ability to reward with high value treats, hormonal swings during a rager of a heat cycle, and high exercise needs that were challenging to meet for a dog that couldn't safely be off leash. Natasha made me feel optimistic, free of judgment, and had so much empathy for me and my dog throughout.

I was traveling with him, and our departure the next day depended entirely on making suitable arrangements for the dog. We needed care for 10 days, and with so little time to research options, we went with a recommendation from my trusted vet: Instinct Dog Behavior & Training. We reached out to person who identified herself as one of the co-owners, who offered to personally care for the puppy. Because he was too young to stay at the main facility, the plan was for her to keep him at her personal residence. We dropped him off at the East Harlem business location and headed home. My friend is very attached to his dog, and he even got an Uber back the same day just to bring the puppy's blanket. He left feeling reassured that the dog was in good hands. That night, my friend was already missing his puppy and asked for an update before bed, and she sent over some photos, which he shared in our group chat. At first glance they looked great. Almost too great. Anyone who has spent five minutes with an 8-week-old Aussie knows they never stand still, so my first thought was that she must be a remarkable trainer to get a puppy posed so perfectly. But looking closer, I noticed irregularities in the images, and they appeared to be AI generated. These were later confirmed to be AI generated. I want to be fair here. I don't believe there was any bad intent, and the puppy was returned to us in perfectly good condition. But sending what seemed to be AI-generated photos instead of a quick real snapshot was a lapse in judgment that undermined our trust at the worst possible moment. When you've handed over a very young puppy on short notice, an honest update matters more than a polished one. Given the circumstances, we felt more comfortable collecting the dog, and a refund was promptly issued, which we appreciated. With departure set for the following morning, there was no time to find replacement boarding, and the trip had to be cancelled entirely. Between the non-refundable bookings and rearranged plans, it turned into an expensive problem. Others clearly have good experiences here, and the co-owner was pleasant throughout. This just wasn't the right fit for us, and I'd encourage them to stick with real photos for owner updates, even imperfect ones. Honest beats perfect every time.
