I feel terrible about this review considering how many great reviews there are on Yelp and one of the reasons I selected this dental office. I scheduled an appointment for an Invisalign consult. I arrived on time, filled out my paperwork...and then 40 minutes later took off my bib and left. I can understand that I'm a "new patient" and sometimes new patients can be flaky. There were others scheduled during my visit, which I can understand too. The sweet receptionist mentioned she booked my appoint for an hour...but I'm not sure if that was an hour of his time or mine. In any event, I'll never know how great he is...and it's bummer since I can walk to this office from my office around the corner. Hope you all have better luck! read more

Dr Azarbal has been nothing but REAL and fantastic with me. I didn't go to the dentist the last 7 years because of previous bad experiences and feel like most dentist are like car salesmen always trying. To screw you somehow. I got referred to him by a friend and for the last year have had nothing but good things to say about him. Let me start by saying! I HATED the dentist. The pain has always been unbearable. From the cleanings, fillings and that weird cold air/water they spray on your tooth, I just couldn't take it anymore...All painful ... A few weeks ago, I finally dragged myself to the dentist... for a check up, I was mortified, when he wanted to replace my silver filling and fix a few cavities.. I'd told him I'd rather have my tooth removed, than have someone drill into that ancient silver feeling, i got when i was like 13. THIS DENTIST (and his angels) assured me, (over and over again) I would feel no pain... Of course I didn't believe them.. AND THEN...... he gave me a shot, that must have been manufactured from Jesus himself... i felt nothing... the only thing i felt was the pain from me gripping my phone the whole time... lol ..the noise is way worse than the "pain" i didn't feel.... This dentist is AMAZING!! .... he will totally make sure you are comfortable. And, although he may not be able to work miracles.... he gets pretty dang close.. If you hate pain and you want to be as comfortable as possible go to Dr. Azarbal. Best dentist I've ever had... by far! : ) read more

We tried a lot of dentists in Pasadena and liked him the best. Dentists are turning into mechanics trying to upsell and make you pay for things you dont need. Azrabal did that the least. We moved out of Pasadena and have to start our search all over again. read more

I usually had good experience here except for one cleaning visit when I was late (there was misunderstanding on apt time) and they took another person in. They made me wait for an hour. I wish they told me so beforehand when they called me to check how far I was so I could come a bit late and get some work done. No complains with Dr. Arash though ! read more

I am totally totally phobic about getting my teeth worked on. Dr. Azarbal was so amazing -- saw me quickly (and I mean really quickly) even though I was a brand new patient and made me feel as comfortable as it was possible to feel for what was (my own fault) going to be an unpleasant procedure. His staff is as nice and competent as he is. Seriously, I won't go anywhere else, ever again. What a spectacular dentist! I'm not very fond of dentists in general, but this dentist's office is truly outstanding. I needed extensive restorative work done, about eight visits in all, and each time the procedure was relatively pain-free, the dentist was careful and thoughtful, the assistants were courteous and kind, even the receptionist is wonderful. I love Dr. A :) He's patient with you, which is what sets him apart from other docs. I had to get over 5 grand worth of treatment cause I hated going to the dentist and haven't gone for over 5 years, and that's with insurance. But it was all worth it. I was really scared of getting anesthetics because I've had bad reactions to it in the past but Dr. A made sure I was comfortable and explained everything that he was doing as he was preparing to do it. I practically lived there for a while since I went there every week but now I have no problems with my teeth and it's really all thanks to him. He's a jolly, positive guy who's serious about making his patients feel comfortable. Even his staff praise him how he is really quick, gentle, and patients are always surprised at how painless the entire procedure is. Just plain awesome. read more

I'd give this practice ten stars if I could. Before finding Dr. Arzabal, I thought that "good dentist" was an oxymoron. Having a mouth full of implants, bridges, crowns, and fillings, my mouth literally illustrates the philosophy that a person's smile is her best (in my case, most costly) asset. Over the course of fifteen plus years, I poured enough money into mouth to give any Gold Grillz-flashing hip hop artist a run for his money and experienced enough pain to have delivered fifty children without meds, only to end up with seemingly unresolvable issues. I was in a state of severe dental despondency when I discovered Dr. Arzabal. Dr. Arzabal runs an exemplar practice! The office staff shows a perfect balance of being professional and personable. Communication throughout the office is clear and up-to-date so that all staff members are well-informed about individual patient's concerns and needs. Both Dr. Arzabal and Dr. Mansouri are passionate about dentistry and are outstanding teachers--a rare combination. They explained all of my options, fielded my many questions, and did not up-sell services or harangue me on the poor quality work done on my teeth by previous dentists. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Azarbal and his staff. They are wonderful, professional people. My first experience with them was due to a dental emergency last year. Dr. Azarbal came to my rescue by coming in on his day off and then performing an amazingly painless extraction of a wisdom tooth days a couple of days later. I was astounded by how quickly and smoothly the whole thing went. Dr. Azarbal's cheery, warm temperament is a great comfort. I had not been to a dentist in many years and I've needed a lot of work done. I've actually come to look forward to dental appointments because I'm confident that I am being cared for by the very best. At the same time, the cost has been surprisingly affordable. My experience with dentists over the past 40 years has been awful. Poorly done fillings that have fallen out after a few months to crowns that have broken off. Needless to say...I really don't like going to the dentist!!!!! Dr. Azrabal has completely turned that around. I was on the verge of writing a blog on how to spend your life finding the right dentist -- without success -- until I found Dr. Azarbal. Up to that point, I had been meeting with other dentists, looking for the right fit as I was embarrassed by the current state of my mouth. Anxiety had always overpowered vanity when it came to my teeth, which is why I hadn't seen a dentist in 10 years. And I do mean anxiety - lots of it. However, the war was lost when I broke a front-facing tooth. I decided -- with the assistance of the reviews on Yelp -- to give his office a whirl, with GREAT apprehension. First, I liked the office immediately. It's a nice throwback compared to tricked-out dental offices that look like operating rooms. Nothing fancy. Secondly, Megan who is the first person you talk to either on the phone or in person is incredible. She reminds me of someone I would have been friends with in school. The rooms are small and private, which was key for me - as so many dentists have open-space chairs these days. Cesar, one of the assistants, is really kind and excellent at getting you comfortable. When I finally met Dr. Azarbal, I liked him instantly. He's got an infectious laugh and talks as quickly as I do, which I appreciate. Nothing worse than spending more time in the chair than necessary. I had a cleaning, one facing, and one crown. The work was excellent. And believe it or not, I'm actually looking forward to going back to have him repair some disastrous work performed by a previous dentist. Yes - you read that correctly: I'm looking forward to going back. Dr. Azarbal clearly cares about his patient's comfort level and their dental health, and he puts you at ease with his great sense of humor. Over the years I have had various work done and so I have experience with many dentists. Dr. Azarbal so far is my top rated dentist. During this last year I've been a patient of Dr. Azarbal and, to this point, I am extremely satisfied with his work. First and foremost, his work is structurally sound and looks great. I've had two caps replaced, a filling redone and two cleanings. I really liked the fact that he used the x-rays along with the high definition camera to explain what the issues where. Not only has the work held up well but also it looks great. He was careful to check with me if I wanted to get a cap with the metal band at the bottom or if I wanted an all porcelain cap. I've had issues in the past where dentists replace a cap with another one where you can clearly see the metal band and you think to yourself, 'why the hell did she not tell me that there was going to be a band?', 'why the hell did I not specify that I want the replacement to look like a real tooth?' This point is very important because many dentists don't pay attention to the needs of their patients although their work is functionally good. Dr. Azarbal's work is great functionally and aesthetically. Plus he is very approachable and easy going. You can ask him anything and he'll walk you through it. In short, these are the reasons why I am staying with Dr. Azarbal: 1. his work is great functionally (I had a second opinion on his work and the other dentist said that the caps were very well done) 2. his work looks great. In terms of matching color, and making the replacement look like real teeth, he did a great job 3. he is very approachable and listens to the needs of his patients 4. I have not had any issues with insurance whatsoever. Whatever was quoted has been the case, i.e. no surprises 5. his office staff are efficient and helpful. So far I usually walk in and I'm sitting on the chair getting work done within minutes. They don't waste your time. 6. lastly, he is not pushy. He mentioned the work that he recommended I should get done, he mentioned specialists that he would use for the work and that was it. I found Dr. Azarbal here on yelp and I'm so glad I did! I had such a great experience. It had been at least 5 years since I had gone to the dentist and was really embarrassed because it'd been so long & also afraid of how much work I had to get done! Dr. Azarbal & his staff made me feel extremely comfortable with their friendliness and patience. Throughout the process of the work that I had done (fillings and a root canal) he was checking in with me and talking me through what was happening. I felt at ease and it was the 1st time I didn't feel pain or discomfort while I had dental work done. The Dr. who works with Dr. Azarbal that did the root canal was also fantastic. He mentioned to me before we began the root canal 'I love what I do, I love my job and love talking about what I do, so if you have any questions I'll be more than happy to talk through it all with you.' Best dentist I've ever had working in my mouth! Found him on Yelp when I was desperate to save a tooth from permanent damage, after horrible practitioner (Jeanne Devi) almost sent me into root canal zone, on a previously healthy molar (took a year for my pain to subside). I was literally in trauma when I met Dr. Azarbal, and I've never before been phobic about dental work! He's terrific with general procedures~ and utterly BRILLIANT with cosmetic work. I'm very detail oriented regarding mechanics and aesthetics, and this man is very meticulous, responsive and accommodating. He is my Hero! I'm comforted that he's much younger than I, because I don't wanna go to anyone else for the duration of my life. PS: I adore his personality, too~ I literally look forward to my dental visits!
