Dr. Azarbal came highly recommended by a friend whose family has been seeing him for over 15 years…read more I called for an appointment and the first available time slot was a month away. I was willing to wait, I heard this office was great and the reviews seemed to agree. I had a late afternoon appointment. When I checked in the receptionist could not find my name in the schedule. I pulled up my call log to show that I did speak to someone in the office a month ago. Without skipping a beat, she worked me in. I filled out some forms and she looked up my dental insurance, which seemed easy peasy for her to do. Despite the initial disappointment of not being properly scheduled, I had a great experience with my X-rays and exam. The office vibe is relaxed and friendly. Although it was busy, Dr. Azarbal maintained a very pleasant disposition and I could hear him asking other patients if they were comfortable. He is very friendly, easy to talk to, and he's an attentive listener. He thoroughly explained what was going on with my teeth. Even though the office was shutting down for the day (remember they worked me in), he took his time to give me dental "mini-lessons" with enthusiasm. He and his staff were very courteous and attentive to my needs, and they always checked to be sure I was comfortable. We have a treatment plan and my next few appointments are booked. They confirmed my contact info and will send me text reminders moving forward. I look forward to coming again!

Had to switch dentists due to insurance the past year. Very unhappy about this as I came here for years. I even chose to pay out of pocket for years to continue seeing him cause he is a great dentist. Does great work and is honest and ethical. Also he has outstanding bedside manner (this can be so rare among clinicians unfortunately). He's fun funny, provides outstanding patient education (some dentists dont care about this-but its so important), and is most personable, supportive and gentle dentist. Highly recommend.

I specifically asked before booking, at check-in, and again after the appointment. The visit itself lasted about 1-2 minutes. The dentist performed a brief visual exam and told me everything looked fine. No periodontal probing, charting, or treatment planning was done. The office initially billed my insurance under a comprehensive periodontal evaluation code, which did not reflect the services performed. After I questioned it, they resubmitted the claim under a limited exam code, which was then denied due to frequency limitations. I was ultimately required to pay $50 to avoid collections. What disappointed me most was not just the billing issue, but the lack of empathy when I raised concerns to "Rafi". There was no acknowledgment of the miscommunication or incorrect initial coding .. just a firm statement that it was "my responsibility." Clear communication about coverage and better billing transparency would have prevented this situation. I hope the office improves this process for future patients. very disappointed.

We've received a variety of treatments, including long-overdue deep cleanings for me and whitening before our wedding. Recently, we've been most grateful for Dr. Kang for taking care of my wife's broken crown situation through her pregnancy. Dr. Kang and his team always take the time to answer our questions and explain the what and why behind the procedures, and I appreciate how they provide the larger, long-term perspective for our health. Thank you Ohana Dental!

I truly wanted to give this dentist the benefit of the doubt. I've seen him a couple of times…read morebefore and had a good experience. This time, I felt like he was trying to upsell, but after my most recent visit, I can confidently say that is exactly what's happening. My crown had come off and I needed a replacement quickly, so I returned here out of convenience. From the start, it felt like he was focused on selling me the most expensive options rather than giving honest recommendations. I chose a porcelain crown, but what frustrated me was that he never mentioned that a metal crown would have been a better, longer-lasting choice for a back tooth until after my porcelain crown was permanently cemented two weeks later. Had he told me that upfront, I would have chosen the more durable option without hesitation. He also kept changing his explanation for why my original crown came off. At first he told me it was likely due to the cementing not being done correctly. Two weeks later, he changed the story and said it was probably because of grinding, not cementing. The inconsistency felt unprofessional and confusing. The first appointment was also incredibly frustrating he was overbooked and juggling too many patients, and with only one dentist working, I ended up being there for almost three hours just for a mold and a basic cleaning. I almost didn't make it in time to pick up my kids. Speaking of the cleaning, it was honestly the most aggressive cleaning I've ever experienced. I bled far more than normal not because my teeth were overly dirty, but because of how rough he was. Even when placing my permanent crown and removing excess cement, he scraped my gums so hard that I felt it immediately and tasted blood. It was completely unnecessary. The environment itself is clean, which I appreciate, but the overall experience felt more like dealing with a salesperson than a genuine dentist. Even his staff didn't seem happy to be there. The front staff lady kept asking me to reschedule my 6 month cleaning after I told her twice I was going to call and schedule it later. She even tried asking me to schedule it in January even though I just got the cleaning done 2 weeks ago. Dentist informed me there would be a $350 extra fee to have my crown delivered sooner, something my previous dentist never charged for. It felt like yet another upsell. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. Clean office or not, I want a dentist who is honest, consistent, and focused on patient care not one who prioritizes sales.
