Walked in to see if I could have two copies of a headshot printed. After two men talked to each other for several minutes about who was going to help me, one of them finally did--a very awkward start. They quoted me 99 cents per print, and when I asked about adding a border, they said that would cost extra, but wouldn't specify how much; and when I gave them my USB with my photos I mentioned that I had trouble printing at FedEx because their machines don't recognize USBs formatted on Macs, then the guy said "Oh. I cannot review their service as they were not willing to assist us. Me and my fiance went there to inquire about printing items for our wedding. We stood at the counter waiting for assistance for a very long time. There was four employees who ignored us at the counter and never approached us. Well they did walk up to the counter to grab something or type away on the computer, but would avoid eye contact, then rush back to keep talking with one another. As they talked among themselves they would occasionally glance our way to see if we had gone away yet. The man who was at the counter when we came in went into the back office and I figured he must be some type of manager, and he assumed one of his employees would take care of us. But then later another customer came in and when the manager heard the sound of his voice he came out to greet and talk to him, and still avoided us. We did visit the corporate competition next door prior and was feeling they would give us a better deal, and i would prefer working with a local business. read more

Terrible experience with this place. My wife went in to see about laminating a poster. The owner was demeaning and patronizing. Maybe he has an issue with women? Anyway, she asks if she can pick it up in a week. Owner says it won't take that long... 3 or 4 days max. Two weeks later, when she finally has time, she drops by at lunch to pick up the poster. No one can find it. She shows the work order and receipt. Still no luck. Finally, after about 5 minutes, the owner finds it propped up against his desk. It hadn't been done. So, with no apologies, he casually tells my wife he'll do it right now and then disappears. She waits 15 minutes. Still no sign of the guy, so she finally leaves and asks me to come by and pick it up later that day and talk to the owner. So when I show up and I explain to him that we should get a discount for this job, the best he says he can do is offer me 10% off on our next order. Our next order?? Hell will freeze over before he gets our next order. But that's not the kicker. I get home and what do we find? In his apparent rush to get the job done earlier that day, the owner mangles the bottom border of the laminate and managed to cut into the poster (a $70 poster imported from England!). So is it worth it to go back in and yell? Of course not. No repairs on this are possible, this guy has already shown us his true colors, and life's too short to waste time on folks like this. Bottom line: avoid Pasadena Image Printing like the plague. Customer service sucks, professionalism is non-existent, and quality of work is sub-par. You really want to give a place like that your business?? I don't think so. read more

I was recommended to Pasadena Image Printing by a photographer that I work with. Her printed book looked great and she gave me their number. I had an important meeting tonight to show my book, so I needed to print a few new images as quickly as possible which meant that I could not send them in to the company where I usually print. I called Pasadena Image Printing on the phone and asked how much their 11X14's were and if I could get them printed same day. The man on the phone said 11x14's are $1.99 and they could be done in an hour. Awesome! I drove my ass all the way out to Pasadena, gave them my disk of pictures and he showed me a sample piece of paper to make sure I was happy with it, I said sure. I discussed the fact (THREE TIMES) that I wanted my horizontal prints to span across 2 pages which would mean he needed to print them 22x14. He agreed (THREE TIMES). He told me to come back in 3 hours even though on the phone he said it would only take 1. Ugh Fine. Three hours later I returned to pick up my prints. They were NOT $1.99 as advertised, but $4.99 each! He said it was because I specified that I wanted it on a more expensive paper!! Ummmm NO! He showed me a sample piece and mumbled "good?" and I said "sure." How the hell was I supposed to know that I had other, cheaper options? The prints are atrocious. Wayyyy to yellow and very pixelated. They told me beforehand that they would have to crop some of the pics which was fine, but the crops were really bad which made the pictures un-useable. My favorite part of the story is that the 22X14 prints I had asked for (THREE TIMES) were not there! Instead they printed my horizontal pictures horizontally on 11x14 paper. He acted like I never told him that I wanted them 22X14 and said that he could re-do them but it would take 30min an cost $39 each!!!! WTF??!! Didn't I discuss this with you (THREE TIMES) three hours ago? I received no apology and no alternative solutions to my problem... just a blank stare and a huge price quote. Out of the 9 prints I had printed, I can only use two. I wasted $50, a lot of gas and my time to get shitty service and shitty prints. If you are a professional, stay away from this place! The final result is not something you will be able to proudly display in your book and you will just have to spend more money fixing what they mess up. read more

It seems as though they're very disorganized. I had to come back twice because they kept saying it wasn't ready. The binding of the canvas was poorly done because they were probably in a rush. It's not cheap and the canvas is also warping. I should've gone to Walmart. read more

In terms of printing quality and price, Pasadena Image Printing provides a satisfactory service. However, I am disappointed in Pasadena Image Printing's customer service. I brought a poster size color print which I needed to pick up the same day (a Saturday). I hadn't printed with this company before, but I prefer to support local businesses rather than large chain stores. When I returned to pick up the poster that afternoon (about 3:15pm, which seems like a reasonable time to be open on a Saturday), I was shocked to see that the store was closed! No employee informed me when I dropped off the print earlier that day that the store would be closing at 3pm that day, and there are no signs posting business hours at either the front or rear entrance. The receipt which I was given at the time I dropped off the poster to be printed did not list business hours either. I needed the poster for a special event being held out of town, which I was leaving for early the next morning. So, I had to go to Kinko's/FedEx Office next door to get the poster printed. I had already paid for the poster at Pasadena Image Printing, and so was not too happy shelling out more money for another poster at Kinko's/FedEx. Fast forward two weeks later. Having just returned from being out of town, I went to pick up the poster at Pasadena Image Printing (since I had already paid for it, even though I didn't need it any more). I spoke with the manager Joseph, and informed him that although the quality of the print was acceptable, I was disappointed in the fact that business hours are not listed at the entrances to the shop, nor on the receipt, which led to having to print another poster at Kinko's/FedEx. I thought it would be helpful to let them know they should post business hours, to avoid any future confusion with customers. However, Joseph BLATANTLY LIED to me, telling me the business hours are posted on the back door when they clearly are not. He was only semi-apologetic at best, but nonetheless he lied to my face! I'm not pleased that I was not informed of the time of the store's closing the day I dropped off the poster to be printed, but I can accept it as a miscommunication. However, I can't accept the manager blatantly LYING to me about business hours being posted when they aren't. Pasadena Image Printing has lost a potential repeat customer. read more

To say that Pasadena Image Printing has terrible service would be an insult to places with terrible service. I came here for a book binding job expecting to receive a decent quality product, in the end I was overcharged and my overpriced book fell apart within two weeks. However, the worst part of the entire experience came with talking with the store manager. His lack of professionalism made the entire experience akin to dragging yourself through a mile of broken glass. If you enjoy being hung up on in the middle of a phone call or being left to wait in their store for an hour after a predetermined meeting time, than Pasadena Image Printing is the place for you! Otherwise, if you see yourself as a human being that is worthy of being treated as such then I highly suggest you take your business elsewhere. I would not recommend this place to an enemy and I most certainly will not be recommending Pasadena Image Printing to anyone here. P.S. The fact that I would go through the trouble of writing this detailed firsthand nightmare is indicative of just how bad of an experience this place is. When I accidentally cut one of my pages a little smaller than I needed it, they reprinted it for free. In class today we had a photo project assigned for our final. And one of our fellow classmates spent a total of $400 dollars. The people working there did not tell her how much she was spending and then made her pay that ridiculous amount. Our professor was furious. I was supposed to pick up the sample of a pamphlet that I had emailed to them. When I first walked in to see how the sample turned out, the person who attended me was lacking a ton of customer service skills. For example, he just gave me the sheet and and went back to his computer. On the other hand, the other business I decided to go with had folded the sample pamphlet for me, and they even asked me if they could adjust a few mistakes that I had not even realized! read more

RIP OFF. They try charging a dollar for each print to make my images 5% lighter! I understand images will never be exactly what it appears on my screen BUT..the image they printed out was so dark you can't see ANY details! Every single print shop before these guys had a better print quality...even my school's printer! I took my business to another print shop down the street that charged me $1 for EACH print EVEN CARDSTOCK. They even adjusted the lightness of my images to my liking WITHOUT charging me a dime! Unlike what these guys are like..for the same prints - $3.99 for the FIRST print then $1.79 for additional prints. Kinkos is cheaper and has a better quality print! I will NEVER take my business here again. read more

I came here to get a couple prints made. I was aware that the photos were not of the greatest quality so I didn't have the highest expectations. However, the quality of the print job was approximately the same as the kiosk at CVS. The paper on every single photo had scrapes in it and you could see lines from the printer. They said there was nothing they could do about it. I could have printed the same thing at home for free. I will say however that the lady was pretty nice and patient with me considering how annoyed about it I was. Definitely would not go here again. read more

I'm always a fan of supporting any local business ESPECIALLY when there is a corporate competitor-Kinko's-a few doors down. I've been to P.I.P. twice, once for regular copies and once to transfer a play into a digital copy. To start with, the place is a lot less crowded and you don't have to fool with credit card machines to pay for each copy you make, even if you happen to make a mistake. Here, you copy what you need and if there is some issue with printer formatting or the like, a very nice person will come and make the adjustments for you. And they won't charge you for your mess-up because they play the honor system-you tell them how many copies you made and they charge you at the register for those copies. I was honest and told them about my mess-ups and they still didn't charge for them. The cost per copy is also less expensive than Kinko's, so double-possitive. My next trip was to take a play I'm working on and having it converted to a pdf file. This time I needed counter service and had to wait for...wait for it...ONE person in front of me. Once I was addressed, I told them what I needed and the gentleman said that it wouldn't be a problem. However, he did need to pull the staples out of the binding so he could make a copy of each page and then send those copies through the digital imager. This was a little frustrating because he said they didn't have a stapler that could re-staple the pages back together. BUT, he did give me the copied pages that he used to digitally transfer the play and even folded them correctly so I now had a second printed copy of the play. I feel that that made up for the lack of staples. The price, if I can remember correctly, was around $0.89 a digital page. Not super cheap. But when I went next door to Kinko's and cut in front of the mass of disgruntled people waiting for service and asked how much their digital imaging was per page, of course, P.I.P. was cheaper. All told, my experience has been good and everyone has been friendly. It doesn't have that mechanized urgency that Kinko's tends to have, and I don't know how their other services stack up, but if you are looking for a relaxed place with friendly people who will actually take the time to help you figure out how to press the right button for your 3 copies, then if you have a choice, I'd pick Pasadena Image Printing. Oh, you can park in the Kinko's lot next door and walk right over if you want to stick it to THE MAN. Take that! Corporate reproducers of images and words! read more

They print posters for about 30% cheaper than the FedEx next door. The first time I used them, my poster came out great. The second time, my poster wasn't ready when I came to pick it up. They printed the poster while I waited, and it showed some pixellation because of a file conversion problem between Powerpoint .ppx and their printer. They didn't really know what to do about that. I gave them the file in a different format, and they agreed to reprint the poster. The different format worked fine. They get kudos for good prices and fixing the file conversion problem at no charge. On the other hand, true professionals would have asked me up front for a file format that is consistently compatible with their printer, and would have finished the job on time. I've been getting my printing done at Pasadena Image for almost a decade. I would have left a review a long time ago if I'd thought of it! I rarely print anywhere else. When I need a design project (for work or school) done right, this is where I go. They really understand the requirements of a designer or illustrator, and their technical knowledge is far, far better than the business service printers I've had to use occasionally. I've never had to dumb down an explanation for a project. They particularly excel at special effects and complicated jobs: they've gotten beautiful results on some difficult papers. That's another thing; if they tell me a thing isn't going to work, or will take extra time, or whatever--I know I can absolutely trust their experience. They've been the 'secret ingredient' in all my projects for so many years now! read more

I had a booklet to make and they were wonderful to work with. They had a good variety of paper and made a mock-up for me. I had color photos on the cover and they turned out great. Best of all...I needed to pick up my booklets, I was running late and I realized I couldn't get there before they closed. I had a terrible allergic reaction to their chemicals, and requested someone to just step outside or discuss in fresh air. I asked Joseph to print the book for my presentation. 40 pages of book costed me 536 dollar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(I don't need to tell how expensive that is) When I got the book, the binding was so cheap that some of pages suddenly fell down when I doing my presentation. My teacher was mad at me and I went back to talk with them. However, they didn't fix the problem immediately by saying that we will call the "management" and call you later. RUN FROM THIS PLACE. I went here to have a document scanned and emailed to me. They had me write my email address down. I wrote in a large font so there would be no mistakes due to the sensitivity of the document (floor plan w/ home address). I got home, no document. It was late so I called the next day and learned they had sent it to an incorrect email address. I gave them the email address again. These people are incompetent beyond belief. They still could not type in a simple email address. How hard is it? VERY apparently... No document again! I had to call these numbskulls a third time to FINALLY get my document. Who knows who received my document. I was told I would get a refund. They lied. Should I be surprised?!? They probably credited someone else's card. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. read more

Do not use this company for wedding invitations (or anything for that matter)! They printed all of mine upside down on the embossed paper I provided (upside down hearts). They also messed up all the RSVP cards by smudging all of the ink and using poor quality paper instead of the paper I provided because the "printer kept jamming" with the paper I provided. They did not consult me or ask permission to deviate from the contract we agreed upon. The owner has terrible communication skills (very rude and rigid) and was unwilling to correct his mistakes or provide a refund. Invitations were wasted and more paper needed to be purchased for another printing company. Pasadena Image Printing wasted my time and money. Their staff was careless and made many spelling and grammatical mistakes and did not proof read any of their work. Overall, it was a nightmare. Do not use this company!!! read more

I'm a freelance graphic designer so I use this place pretty frequently. Right next to a big FedEx Kinkos where you have to wait fifteen minutes before you can even talk to someone. Pasadena Image Printing, however, you can speak w/ someone almost right away and they turn your job around fast. I went into the Kinko's next door and 3 of their people were unable to get the files off of my SD card, but they said I could pay to use the computer station. So I went next door, they easily got the files off my card and printed them in less than an hour..Oh, and they were cheap! Don't waste your time going next door. read more
