Our ~100 year old original front door latch suddenly wouldn't open, and was beyond our amateur lock knowledge. We had visited Pasadena Lock Shop in the past for key copies and hardware, and figured they'd know vintage lock sets the best in our area, so we called for a repair. Steve came out on a Saturday, took apart our lock and diagnosed that a spring had broken and lodged within the mechanism. He took the lock to his shop, made a new spring and was back within an hour to install it and get everything working. He also took extra time to explain our complicated, unique lock parts, and helped get the deadbolt to click into place more smoothly. Everything is now ka-chunk-ing just as it should. If you have an antique door set you want to preserve, you should definitely call Pasadena Lock Shop. My front door has the original lock set from the 1920s, and we really wanted to get it fixed rather than replaced--as I'm sure many locksmiths would have tried to do. So I called Pasadena Lock Shop and they sent Steve over the next day. He was very kind and professional and super competent. He immediately diagnosed the problem and told me what we would need to do to fix it. He then went back to his shop and found us a matching antique knob to replace the broken one on the inside of the door. We were SO pleased, since there are two coat closets with matching hardware right next to it. I could not be happier! We now have a working doorknob that looks almost exactly like the original. The home insurance had arranged for someone to come and rekey. It was very complicated to schedule and turned out to be a no show. So to get it all done in a hurry I asked for some quotes over Yelp with photos of what needed doing. Steve had the most straightforward quote, no service fees and ' it depends'. Although a delayed review (had to figure out how to use Yelp!), my experience with Pasadena Lock Shop was so outstanding that here I am, 3 months later, navigating Yelp to write about! I had just gotten back from Christmas with my family and was unloading all of my bags when I found myself locked out of my house (oops! very temperamental door). THE WORST SCENARIO. That is where Steve the wonderful locksmith man came to my rescue! I saw his great reviews and knew I had to give him a call. My first call rang and went to voicemail, of which I left a frantic-I'm-locked-out-of-my-house-can-you-help message. I then proceeded to call another local locksmith shop to get pricing. As I was on the phone with them Steve called back. He was so kind and estimated such a quick arrival time that I cancelled my order with the other locksmith. I am so glad that I did! tl;dr: Responsive, dependable locksmith experience... **** Needed the services of a locksmith when our (only) mailbox key was lost. Called Pasadena Lock who was very responsive over the phone, set the appointment to come out to location, gave me an update ETA call, and showed up on time. Didn't ask me for ID but probably figured I was legit since I had the main key to let us into the complex... The lock itself is a pretty standard Salsbury Industries type that I probably could have easily replaced myself even with my limited DIY skills -- assuming I had a key. So besides installing the new lock set, what I really paid for was the house call and their expertise at picking (drilling out) the old lock, all of which I considered pretty standard and reasonable. Steve came out and was courteous and did the work in a timely manner... (geek tip: the extra cams come in handy when finding the right fit for your particular mailbox)... Moral of the story: don't wait til you're down to only one key before you do something about it... read more

Most shops said they could get the keys from Gardall directly and will take about 2 to 3 weeks since there coming from the east coast.
