Hands-down the busiest tennis center in the Valley for decades. When the Prudhomme family took over the City contract to operate this public tennis center some 25 years ago, no one beyond the family had a similar vision of fruition. Now, as a mecca for competitive and recreational tennis, you might think the family would put their feet up and rest. Hardly. They garnered support to build more courts and put in a sports bar, making it an entertainment tennis destination. Where is the ping pong table? Let's have a beer and play! High school championships - here. Junior college championships - here. This is tip of the iceberg in respect to who they bring in and service here. I've been coming to Paseo Racquet Center since the 90s. Has been run almost the whole time by the Prudhomme family. Ed and Brian and Nick are high quality people and do a great job managing the facilities. Absolutely come to cardio tennis. It's an hour of running and skills drills and awesome music and running and did I mention the awesome music? $3 beers or white claw in the bar after playing a couple sets is a welcome rest after the heat. read more

I brought my brand new UNused racquet to them to get restrung. They returned it back to me cracked then tried to tell me it was that way when I brought it to them. No accountability for their mistakes. Then tried to tell me to return it under warranty. Um....the warranty doesn't cover when an incompetent company cracks your racquet. Beware!!! read more

The club manager is completely incompetent. Player safety was put at risk in the tournament I just played in (Santisi Brothers, men's tournament in September). On Saturday it was 105 degrees, and on Sunday it reached about 103. With that said: 1. The facility has no cold water readily available for players. You have to purchase it. Granted, players bring their own hydration, but if you run out mid match, there is zero cold water that's available anywhere near the courts. And it's 105 degrees outside. Is it too much to ask that when we pay tournament fees that water is made freely available for safety and the players' health? I mentioned this on Day 1 of the tournament; Day 2 rolls around, and the facility changed nothing; didn't provide bottled water, jugs, etc. 2. The tournament registration said the dates were Sept. 14, 15, and 16 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Instead of scheduling each player to play 1 match per day, the tournament organizers elected to skip Friday play altogether, then have the players play 1 match Saturday (starting at 10 a.m.), and then TWO matches on Sunday (8:30-10:30 am and then around 11 am - 1 pm). Asking people to play back-to-back matches (3-4 hours of playing) in 100-degree heat is ridiculous. Several players just left and opted not to play their third match because they were cramping, overheated, or just exhausted. Did I mention they didn't make water available? 3. My Sunday morning opponent informed the tournament director/club manager on Saturday that he would not be playing on Sunday due to an elbow issue. Did the tournament director bother to ever tell me this? No. I woke up at 7 am, got to the courts by 8:15, only to have my player "mysteriously" be a no-show. So with his utter lack of communication and planning, the tournament director wasted half my day. I waited 4 hours to play, when he knew my opponent wasn't going to attend. I understand when we as USTA players sign up for September tournaments in Phoenix, we assume some risk with potentially hot conditions. That said, choosing to make players play 2 matches in the heat of the morning/early afternoon on Sunday, as opposed to 1 match per day, is poor planning. Especially when you aren't going to provide water! Grrrr. read more

We use the softball fields here for 12-yr-old's baseball practice. I know nothing about the racquet side of things. The softball fields are OK. Three fields are well lit but one (the SE field) is terribly lit. It's unevenly lit and it's not OK. All the fields are typical of other public Glendale city fields - they are hard with a little dirt spread around every day or so. They are overdue for some new infield dirt and the grass outfields are simply unimpressive. I'd probably score them lower but the fact that we have lit fields at all is a good thing. read more

If you are looking fot Tennis classes for your kid, This is NOT a place to be. They have one basic class and put all their. Also getting money back is really a problem. I've been going here since high school and this is my favorite tennis club in AZ. The pros here are top notch. Greg Prudhomme is a fantastic teacher; he is always positive and he knows his stuff. Brian is also a great coach: he makes things very easy and I always find his tips very helpful. The part I like is they have programs that can fit my schedule and are reasonably priced. Attendance is flexible for adult clinics and we learn about two new things every time. Courts are well maintained and lighting is good (which is something I can't say about some other tennis clubs in AZ). read more

Despite a local ordinance requiring masks to be worn in public, customers are not wearing masks, and there are summer camps happening with lots of young people in close proximity. I wouldn't expect people to wear masks while playing tennis, but they should be wearing masks when entering and exiting the facility and while watching others play. This place will be a breeding ground for COVID-19. Avoid coming here until the pandemic is over. read more

A great place to play!!! All the courts are in great shape with no cracks. Has drop in every morning, well run clinics and a awesome cardio tennis program. It is a family run place that has a true club feel to it and great deals on re-stringing. read more

I LOVE PLAYING TENNIS AT PASEO! Great for all ages and all levels! Ed and Greg do a fabulous job keeping the tennis crowd SAFE and happy during this pandemic. The bitchy customer complaining about masks not being worn, failed to mention all of the GREAT things Paseo has done to follow CDC guidelines. They have the protective screens in place, CDC postings encouraging social distancing, masks available, and even made tubes for the younger generation to decorate and use when picking up balls. AND for your information, they highly encourage folks to wear masks. We're all in this together, so instead of leaving a negative review here, why don't you go somewhere else, grumpy, because PASEO is awesome. read more

I was jogging in the area and noticed signs, so I went to check it out. The place seems nice enough, but I got the impression the manger Ed and his son seem to run the place and would rather sit all day and collect their pay checks. I would love to know how much money they make sitting around all day hoping no one comes in and bothers them. I think I'll contact the city to see what is up. read more

Great place to play with lots of players at various levels but mostly 3.5 and up. The price is just $4 and if you are a newcomer or just a single person, there is 'drop in' doubles play every morning and it is always easy to get into a match. People are friendly and there is a group that are there just about every morning and willing to play with anyone who shows up. read more

I have been traveling back and forth from San Diego and Phoenix last couple of years for work and family. I have played, taken lessons and clinics here (Paseo) and Balboa (SD). The staff and instruction far exceed the same at Balboa. Great value for $ spent. I would recommend any tennis players looking for some excercise and working on the game to visit Paseo. Nicer courts, much better instruction. Only thing better at Balboa is the weather in the summer time. read more

Outstanding center, probably the most active in the state. They have multiple programs for kids, including ongoing clinics after school for different levels and summer camp daily (again, different level classes). In addition, they have agreed to host different classes for the City of Glendale. The cardio tennis is a fun way to get good exercise. The adult classes are setup to meet players levels, as well - beginners, intermediate, and advanced. More than 2000 people play at Paseo on a weekly basis, which provides tremendous opportunity for people to pop in and play drop-in tennis without having to worry about trying to find someone to play with. With house leagues, USTA league teams, tournaments, and all the fun activities, they have it all. Those that play there regularly know the tennis center is run by two generations of a real tennis family. They are respected teaching pros and have received awards from the USTA.
