At first I thought this was grocery store. It's not until you walk up to the door that you see pictures of some delicious looking food. Unfortunately the food didn't live up to the pictures. I ordered the goat curry, it was very tough. I can't speak much to the taste since I'm not familiar with Tongan and Samoan food. It was very warm and humid inside, just like being on one of the islands. I'll give them another try in about a year.

After just one session, this is the best my shoulders and my body have felt in over a year. Karl has an incredible ability to read the body and work intuitively while still being very intentional and skilled. By the end of the session, not only was the pain significantly reduced, but my entire body felt balanced and aligned. What truly sets Karl apart is the spiritual aspect of his work. The session was incredibly calming, grounding, and felt like a genuine gift to experience--not just a massage, but deeply healing and restorative. If you're dealing with chronic pain, old injuries, or simply want a massage that goes beyond the physical, Karl is exceptional.

My first KM EXCEEDED (my very very high) expectations. Amazing. Incredible. Life-changing. I now see Karl monthly -- booked out for the next year, I think. I hope. He's so popular; slots fill up quickly! If I had unlimited funds (someday?) I would get a KM every other day. 10/10. 100/100. 1 MILLION/1 MILLION. I literally could not recommend him more.

Often I found them providing new takes on classic dishes. The restaurant took pride in their sourcing and provided nourishing food and pushed to make every dish interesting. Thank you to all the staff that made such a special experience for me and my family every time we visited. Keep pushing to be great and creative. There was something special here. You will be missed!

I always love to eat at a good Hawaiian spot and saw some videos raving about Kau Kau. We decided…read moreto give it a visit for some brunch this past weekend and hate to say that I was honestly disappointed. We walked in to a fairly small but busy restaurant thinking it would take a while for a table but to our surprise we were seated quickly. The server was quick to help us and bring us water which is always great but there is one thing that could've been done better. We were just seeing other tables that came after us , getting their food and we had nothing. We didn't really get an update as to what was taking long or where our food was which was the bummer part. They did make up and give us a 10% discount and a free orange juice which was greatly appreciated. So props for that The food wasn't the worst but also it wasn't something that made me think WOW this is good. I usually don't get gravy with my loco mocos and mostly judge off the meat flavor and this one was lacking seasoning. My wife's waffle was just good nothing crazy and the chicken did taste fresh which we most definitely enjoyed. The mango syrup that came with it though wasn't too much of our liking. It tasted mostly like a mango candy syrup mixed with hot sauce. Overall our experience was alright but not the best..... I don't know if I'll make the drive out here to get some "Hawaiian" bites as I do feel there's better spots in Sacramento. Everything is all subjective to experience and ours was just alright.

10th Annual Sacramento Aloha Festival 2021…read more Aloha kākou! This year the Aloha Fest was held at the Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn. I've never attended the location at the Cal Expo but the location in Auburn was a beautiful park-like venue with lots of greenery outside in the open air. It was a nice place to hold the event. The weather was sunny and in the low 80's. Perfect weekend for ending the summer! Folks were out in their lawn chairs just enjoying the day. There was no shortage of entertainment (live native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander), fun workshops, Aloha merchandise, and delicious Polynesian food!!! There were resource vendor booths, educational exhibits, and an arts and crafts Keiki Korner, and lots more. Restrooms were nearby and the grounds was wheelchair accessible. We attended to watch my boss's little keiki participate on stage with the KŪHAI HĀLAU O KANOHEAOKALIKOLAUA'E PĀ 'ŌLAPA KAHIKO dance group led by Kumu Hula, Nohea Macugay. We also participated (attempted) at the Tahitian Workshop with the VAIPUNA NO TE HERE dance group led by Director, Stephanie Manuel. My daughter belongs in the dance group and was part of the workshop. -whew- what a workout. Also, saw my favorite band, Island Sunset Band, on stage. My favorite because "Unko" is a guitar player (married to Yelper, "Aunty" Ronnie B) This was a much needed coming together and made me miss the islands. It's the next best thing in the mainland if you're not in Hawaii... Aloha... A hui hou! Review #2397
