The location was only 5 minutes from the office so made the trek. There were a lot of good reviews aas another reason I went. I originally went to get a poke bowl but saw the inari (we called them footballs when I was younger) option. I went with two orders of 4, one order plain and the other with 2 protein and 2 toppings. That one I chose salmon and tuna with edamame. They advertise that the rice is sushi rice. Well it wasn't or if it was they did not mix it well or not enough vinegar. The rice tasted like plain rice so the plain inari only had flavor from the pouch. Also, they put too much rice which drowned out the pouch flavor even more. The other ones were okay. The fish was relatively fresh but had a slight smell. The tuna had too much red water so the rice was red. I would suggest if you say sushi rice, it should taste like sushi rice. read more

I happen to be in Natomas for a job I had to do and thought it'd be a good idea to pick up some food from here. Their website says they close at 8pm. I got here a little before 7:50pm and they already closed. I love the food here and I really wanted to get a spam musubi too. If I take all the experiences I've had here and average them the service has been pretty decent. A lot of people will complain, "oh they mix it this way or that way or they put this in before mixing instead of after" If you want something a certain way, just kindly ask. The staff can't read your mind. And not all poke places are the same. I like Everything in my bowl Mixed together so I just ask them to do that and I havent had an issue here about it. I love the food here though. The poke bowls and the spam musubi are great! I like that the musubi has egg in it too which not a lot of places do. It's really disappointing that they don't stick to the schedule they set and can't even at least put a sign on the door that they closed early or something. I don't even know if they've normally been closing earlier than 8pm and they just don't update their hours on their website or if they happen to close early this day. And post something also about if they have specific kitchen hours. This closing earlier than they've stated is disrespectful of their customers' time too. As I was on a mission for a decent Poke restaurant and happened to be in the Natomas area, I came across "Poke Ichii" as the reviews were more than generous. Located in the North Natomas neighborhood of Sacramento, this place is in a strip mall at the intersection of Arena Blvd and Truxel Rd. The outdoor shopping center predominantly houses a ton of restaurants complete with a Chinese restaurant next door as well as a pizza place, a coffeeshop, and much more. This place opened its doors back in early-2018 and has seen some fairly positive reviews since. I came here for the first time ever during the afternoon of Saturday 9/14/2024 at around 5:00pm. Much to my surprise, there was not a single customer inside but my guess is that this was right before the dinner crowd. And sure enough, customers trickled in one by one after I had placed my order. The inside is spacious but only has enough seating to accommodate around 5 parties. You will notice the business name is big gold letters while the flooring has modern tiles. I do want to point out that the beverages are located behind the register. They do have a small freezer that sells pre-packaged Durian ice cream that is sold by Maven's Creamery (based in the San Jose area). Going back to the main reason why I came here and that is for a hearty Poke bowl. They offer build-your-own Poke bowls as well as Signature Poke Bowls. Since I was craving something warm, I decided to go with their "Poke Bake". I chose salmon as my protein of choice. I chose white rice and this also included shrimp, crab salad, masago, green onions, spicy mayo, and teriyaki sauce. Since this was a non-raw bowl, it would take roughly 15-20 minutes before it was ready. Sure enough, my bowl was ready in around 17 minutes after my order was placed. Since I decided to dine-in, I took advantage of the comfortable warm summer day at their outdoor patio area. The bowl itself was quite heavy as I could tell I was in store for a good filling meal. There was quite a bit of rice on the bottom and also a lot of crab salad but only small chunks of cooked salmon and very little shrimp. I also think they overdid it with the spicy mayo but this was still an above average meal and I was quite satisfied with how much food was packed in this. I will probably stick with non-raw bowls as I prefer those a little bit more than this. All in all, "Poke Ichii" is one of many above average poke restaurants in the Sacramento area. The young man that helped me was very polite as he was running the register while bringing out everyone's food. Parking is also ideal and they also offer online orders for easy pick-up. And finally, they have generous hours of operation being opened for business 7 days a week from 11am-8pm. With above average food, excellent service, and decent prices, I am giving Poke Ichii a respectable 4-star rating. read more

This Natomas location is located in a strip mall has ample parking and relatively easy to get to. I've been here a couple of times now and it's been laidback ambience around dinner hour. I live in Natomas and was having a Poke craving. I have tried Poke Fix but never tried this place. It is located off Arena two doors down from Mountain Mikes. I was going to order on Doordash but decided I needed to see it in person and ordered to go. Arrived around 11:30 on a Monday. After getting over the sticker shock of $17.50 for a regular bowl, I started with a half rice/half salad. The salad had a lot of ice berg vs. leafy greens. Didn't like that part. I did like the great assortment of proteins and BBQ tuna (my fav) was one of them that you normally don't see. I know Tofu is protein for the vegan, but it was $2.50 extra to add whereas most Poke places do not charge. I didn't see avocado? The spicy mayo was not spicy at all. In fact, the whole thing was dry and bland and I added 3-4 other different sauces so I had to raid my kitchen cabinets to make it not so dry. Decent amount in size of bowl and the portions were small on some scoops and then large on others. I also found myself bouncing around back and forth a lot along the line with the items he was asking me to choose. Usually at a Poke place you go in order down the line. I also found it odd that they mix the green onions in the sauce. Usually that is a dry topping. Service was so-so. When I tell you that this is my first time ever coming to your establishment, I feel that you should do your best to make a lasting impression so that I come back. My friend was craving poke so we decided to try this place out. We were not disappointed they have a variety of items that other poke spots don't offer. They had some of your run of the mill choices and some very different choices. The food itself was good and fresh. My only complaint would be they mix your proteins in the sauce which I don't mind at all, its that they don't use enough sauce so everything seems dry, especially when you get down to the rice. I guess I'm just used to places putting a lot of sauce so that when I mix it, it gets evenly distributed. Poke Ichii is another great poke bowl restaurant in Natomas! They are located at the corner of Truxel Rd. and Arena Blvd, in the same complex as Mel's and Tapioca Express. They opened earlier this year, but I didn't get a chance to try them until just recently. Their prices are pretty standard, $11.50 for a small 3 scoop protein bowl or $13.50 for a large 5 scoop protein bowl. They have a good variety of proteins, including yellowtail, spicy scallops, and bbq albacore, and most importantly, the fish is fresh and good quality. I ordered a large poke bowl with salmon, hamachi (yellowtail), and tuna with half brown rice, half salad base, plus a good variety of toppings. For sauces, they don't have a standard sesame shoyu, but they do have a nice variety of special flavors including spicy garlic shoyu, sesame ponzu, wasabi shoyu, and their house sauce. You can get unlimited sauces or combination of sauces. I chose the spicy garlic shoyu and sesame ponzu...they turned out pretty good. I really enjoyed their topping selection! They do have all the standard favorites... crab salad, seaweed salad, edamame, masago, plus some less common favorites...diced mangoes, pineapples, kim chi, corn, and spicy masago. Even though the poke bowl container was not that large, the lady making my bowl kept piling on the toppings. It was quite impressive to see it all stack up! We decided to eat in the restaurant, which was pretty clean, new, and most importantly, cool on a hot summer afternoon. They do offer water, but they don't put the water out in the public area, which I would have preferred because I wanted to refill my cup of water, but didn't want to ask. They also have soy sauce at the tables, but you have to ask for a condiment container at the counter. And ask for wasabi if you want some. They do have it available, but you have to ask. The service generally was good. I had a question about the octopus, but couldn't really understand the lady's answer. This restaurant also sells Maven's ice cream macaron sandwiches and spam musubi. Overall, Poke Ichii is a pretty good poke restaurant in Sacramento's Natomas neighborhood. All their ingredients are good, but with all the poke places around now, they are just running well with all the good standing poke bowl shops. Came here on a Saturday night around 7 PM. There was a line out the door, but it moved pretty fast. They have a great selection of fish and baked sushi bowls. I ordered the regular (3 scoops of protein) with all salmon. The salmon was really fresh and the scoops were nice and big. I had trouble finishing the whole bowl. Toppings were fresh, but they were out of green onions :(. I really enjoyed their seaweed salad. I'm kind of picky when it comes to seaweed salad and this was really enjoyable. Staff wasn't rude but also wasn't what I would call friendly. I think they were just focused on getting through the line, which is understandable. There's some outdoor seating, not associated with the restaurant. And a couple tables to sit down at on the inside. Ichii in Japanese means first place. Poke Ichii is just that... First place! I pretty much expected this new addition to the North Natomas area to be like all poke places. You know, you walk in, read the menu, see the same items, pick and choose etc. It was so much better! Poke Ichii does fall into place with starting with the size bowl you would like. You may combine or have just one of the base items; sticky rice, brown rice, salad, or wontons. I selected the brown rice and a few of the wontons. The wontons are crispy and taste super fresh. The rice is made throughout the day, and super fresh tasting. I ordered the three choice protein bowl. So much good stuff to choose from. Poke Ichii offers items that I havent seen at other poke places, such as, ahi, spicy scallops, spicy salmon, and just so much goodness to select from. They have a variety of sauces, and will let you try the sauces so that you can pick whats right for you. I had a combo of sauces, and once mixed with the fish, WOW. Super yum! The add-ons range from crab salad, mango, a variety of veggies, masago, bacon, yes, bacon!, and enough to make your creation unique and tasty. The portions are generous. Is it pricey? Yes. Despite the cost, you're getting a bowl filled with fresh fish, and good tasting items that you've customized to your tastebuds. What I found to be really special about Poke Ichii is the customer service. From the moment that I walked in, to when i left, I felt welcomed. They greeted me when I opened the door, and smiled when they offered to help me. They were patient with my questions, and were happy to suggest combos, and deter me from selecting items that they thought wouldnt be tasty together. They offered tasting of items that i wasnt certain about. Truly great customer service. When I asked if it was okay to take pictures, they graciously agreed. Just super nice people. Since they just opened, they are still in their soft opening phase, and i would strongly encourage you to stop by and give them a try. During the soft opening, they are offering 30% off each bowl. Poke Ichii is located in the same shopping center with other restaurants and businesses, so parking may take a moment to find. You can dine in, but space is pretty limited. I would suggest getting your food to go, and enjoying it at home, or one of the local parks. Super fresh food, and super nice people! Hands down my favorite poke place ever. And they only just opened! This place has a decent amount of seating. A couple tables and some counters and chairs along the wall. I got a large poke bowl with yellow tail, albacore, shrimp, spicy salmon and regular salmon for my proteins. I got a variety of toppings but my favorites were mango, avocado, and cilantro. They're very generous with the portions! After getting my toppings, my lid barely fit on my bowl. Noteworthy toppings are bacon! I've never seen it at a poke place. I didn't get a picture of the SPAM masubi I picked up because we were at the airport when I finally opened it up. The smell coming out of the bag was amazing because they made them fresh. The TSA agent saw what I had and completely understood. You see, it's extremely hard to find Hawaiian food in a Ohio. The most you can really find is a poke bowl. I want masubi! I want katsu or loco moco. Every time I travel to California, I have to get my fix. If I knew how to run a restaurant, I'd open a Hawaiian joint because people would love it. When I was waiting for my plane, I did sneak one out of the bag while hubby was in the bathroom. It was heavenly. This was my first time trying this place. I just moved recently to the area. I went with my friend and there were 2 servers. Her server gave her way more scoops of fish. I felt the portions for my bowl were very stingy for the price. I almost was going to pay for extra protein but I didn't feel it was worth the price. Good thing I didn't! My server didn't know what was in the sauces I asked her about and looked annoyed because I asked for 2 sauces on the side. I realized after I got home that my server forgot to even give me my sauces on the side that I had asked for. Also, there was something lacking like another Yelp reviewer said. I feel it is probably the freshness of the toppings and the fish. Overall, I felt it was pricey for the amount of fish and I would rather go to other poke places like Poke Noke which are cheaper and give you bigger portions of fish and also because you can trust the quality of the ingredients. First time here last time here. Saw the good reviews but now we aren't sure we can believe it All poke ichii did for my craving itch was just poke my itch. More expensive for. "Large" size that looks like a regular. Lower quality fish that needed to be marinated In sauce so the average customer can't taste the low quality. Huge portions of rice and huge toppings but fish was small portion and the scoops of fish were barely a table spoon. The server we got gave two tablespoons per fish but if you ask for double portions they give three scoops instead of four so you actually lose out on your protein. While we do understand it's a business you gotta make money but quality and quantity is low. This place charges more money than the poke place we went last week at Modesto and their large bowl was double the size at ichii and their quality was better. Oh and one more thing it was one hour before closing but the entire store was being sanitized by bleach. My nostrils still feel singed as I type this review. Overall 2/5 unsatisfactory. read more
