My boyfriend has a love for tiki bars so I immediately jumped on taking him here when I saw a TikTok review. We had an amazing time. He was surprised so that made me happy since I love surprising him with local new Spots. We ordered the pupu platter and substituted the eggrolls for more chicken. That was a great thing that you were able to substitute on the platter. We got the huli huli flavor and everything was so good. We also ordered the fries and it was tasty treat. One thing I will say was a miss was the lighting. We couldn't see anything and like other tables had to use our phone's flashlight. I'm all for vibes but that was crazy.
The Jungle Bird completely nailed the immersive tiki lounge vibe, right down to a fantastic soundtrack that kept the energy fun. It is on the darker side inside, which really helps set that moody tropical atmosphere. The service was great, and our wait time was very reasonable once they took our order. For food and drinks, we started with the Pupu Platter, which was a perfect mix of finger foods that pairs beautifully with the drinks. The Boozy Dole Whip Flight is an absolute must-order, and the Bourbon Cherry Heering flavor was the absolute standout--delicious and unique. We also loved the Togarashi Fries, which were super crispy with the perfect amount of savory, spicy seasoning. The only minor downside was that the restroom was completely out of toilet paper during our visit. Aside from that quick upkeep slip, everything else was high-quality and super fun. We will definitely be back!
Jungle Bird is such a fun place, but you have to time it right. I really enjoy the theming and especially like the special events they do like the Jedi Bird, but it can definitely be overwhelming if you're not prepared. I've had the food and some of the drinks here before and it's really up to personal taste. I enjoy the banh mi fries and the lower alcohol content drinks like the Glass Fin, but find a lot of their other drinks a bit much or too sweet since they mostly do rum drinks. Service is always good, though they can get super busy at the right times. My favorite place to sit is the back patio, which is a little quieter and brighter than the rest of the bar.
Absolutely love coming here with friends! It's dark inside, can get pretty packed and loud, but for good reasons. This place is located near a bunch of other restaurants and shops. There's booth and table seating, bar seating, and outdoor seating. The bartenders are nice, the drinks are amazing, and the food is also super good. My cousins and I love coming here for their May 4th Stat Wars week every year to get themed mugs and drinks. My favorite drinks here are the Macadamia Nut Chi Chi, Lava Flow, and Saturn. The drinks are strong and delicious at a good price. They serve food from 4p-10p and I'd recommend the Togarashi fries (spicy and delicious) and coconut shrimp. They recently did a menu change and added dole whip too! Definitely come check them out!
Felt like we were on a pirate quest! Ahoy but alas only made it to one tiki bar.I said if we make it to one only let's go to the Jungle bird! They had featured some cool Disney cups and thought to check them out maybe if available. It's a cool spot, and very inconspicuous, my cousin didn't even notice the green light outside. The host told us that we order at the bar and seat ourselves so it took a bit but the bartender was attentive and pretty quick on the drinks. We ordered a macadamia nut chi, pain killer and a dole whip. Everything was tasty, we felt that they tasted similar to one another the one that I guzzed down was the chi chi. I think if there was table service that would be wonderful to secure a spot, but thankfully we grabbed some open seating to take in the ambiance. Definitely gave off a Disney jungle cruise vibe! Enjoyed my time and my drinks here.

Seems pricey for the portions but still worth trying. Spam fried rice is very good, try it! I would for sure go back to try more drinks and food.
Their drinks here are super delicious and sweet! That's definitely a controversial opinion lol but I love sweet drinks. The lava flow drink was so yummy and i love the red flavored swirl. My girls got the pina coladas and you can't go wrong with that. The drinks came in super adorable cups and each drink came with a pineapple. The vibes are chill here and the bartenders are all so kind!!
Alright, at this point I'm a full blown tiki bar nerd, and made a special visit to Sacramento just to check out Jungle Bird. I had what I would call an "ok" first time. First with the decorations and ambiance, it's pretty great, very tiki, very well thought out. Loved checking out the mug collection and all the stuff on the walls. The food, decent for a bar that's for sure. The pupu platter was fun, and the Pork Belly Bao was actually spot on. The Bahn Mi fries had killer flavor, but the fries were wildly too soggy. Could be a one off, if I go back again I'll make to request extra crispy fries to work with all those toppings. The Kahlua Pork, we did not like, very salty, not much else goin on. Now the drinks, the Plankwalker itself, is a fantastic cocktail and Jungle Bird really knocks it out of the park with that one. Everything else though, just fine. Very very sweet, and the spirit doesn't really shine through in any of them. We navigated most of the menu and really just felt like the drink program could use some work. Service, so we started at the bar up front and hung out for about 30 minutes before our table reservation time. This was fine, our first bartender was quite friendly, but the second one not so much after the bar got a bit busier. Now onto the table service, honestly it was awful. It's not really at fault of our server, his section was just absolutely way too big and he was balancing a party outside at the same time. This is just bad staffing and planning though because we were really neglected the entire time. We would have stayed longer but once we got to the table it just kept going downhill. Piles of stuff left on the table, way too long I between even seeing him, extended waits to get drinks, waters being left empty. That wasn't a great experience. All in all I probably would go back and give it another try if I'm in the area, but won't be going out of my way for it. Another weird thing to tack on, I'd been following Jungle Bird's instagram and had my eyes on a couple things they had posted, one even that same day. Once I asked the waitress about the drinks on instagram and even the swizzles in them, she said "oh we haven't had those for years, or those drinks, must be old photos." It's kinda lame to be posting pictures and merch of stuff that you haven't had for years, it's a bit misleading. If you have no new pictures to post of your drinks and what not, that may be a sign that you need to refresh your drink program.
We visited The Jungle Bird in Sacramento during their Doom Birdie Bash, which had a Haunted Mansion theme. It was a really fun experience. I made a reservation the night before for 6:30 pm, and even though we showed up around 6:40, we were seated right away. We had our own table with plenty of space for the three of us. We ordered the Jungle Bird, a Lava Flow, and a Mai Tai. All three drinks were pretty good, not overly strong and not overly sweet, except the Jungle Bird. As it expected, this was strong and a little bitter. We were warned, and we thought it was good still. The Lava Flow and Mai Tai were balanced and easy to enjoy. For food, we ordered something that was like chicken fried chicken pieces over fries with an aioli sauce. It was really tasty and ended up being good enough that we ordered a second one for the table. The sauce had a little spice to it, so we asked for it on the side the second time. I'm not a fan of spicy food, so I stayed far away from that. We also ordered the deviled eggs, which were okay but really salty. You only get three eggs cut in half, and honestly, I'd say you could pass on them next time. The limited menu had a few more food options like a turkey egg and a hotdog, but those didn't speak to us tonight. Service was good. Our server filled our waters a few times and took our order quickly. The theme was on point, and I loved the tiki bar vibes. The Haunted Mansion decor was all over and really well done. The only thing I didn't love was the music being a bit loud for the space. Maybe I'm just getting old, but it was louder than I expected. Overall, it was a fun night with good drinks, solid service, and a great atmosphere. I'll definitely be back.

They have festive holiday drinks and perfect pupus (Hawaiian for "Perfect snacks to go with drinks"!). I got a perfect strawberry daiquiri (aka lava flow) to go with coconut shrimp and spam fried rice...and it was ohhhh so perfect! The holiday vibes were full-on jolly with a mechanical Santa in his hawaiian shirt and cocktail ready to cheer you on! I gotta come back during the rest of the year to keep my aloha spirit alive! Perfect mini mental tropical vacation when you need it
Loved this place the energy is electric the decor is incredible it's like a light show!! Everyone is super nice and friendly drinks were incredible not just in taste but visually everything was on tiki bar theme Will have to come back here again on a busier night!!

The server we had was really nice and really accommodating because our group was small but we arrived at varied times and ended up staying for around 3 hours. So I really thought that was cool! I tried the veggie spring rolls, the mushroom miso Buddha bowl, and the Sriracha Mac salad. All were decent, but I feel like this is the kind of place where you come for the novelty and drinks over anything else. It was well-priced as well! I like that they have a nice amount of vegetarian selections and two mocktail options for those who have alternative diets / who may not want to drink. Something to note is that tables are technically timed and they may ask you to leave if they have a lot of reservations, we got lucky that that wasn't the case for us!
Come here for the theme/atmosphere, but not for the food. Came here on a Friday night right when they opened. Was greeted with great energy from the two at the bar and seated in a space with very minimal light... so minimal it was hard to read the menu. Knowing it's that dark, it'd be pretty cool if they offered glow-in-the-dark ink menus. Survived with the cellphone flashlight. Ordered a few cocktails and three food items. The cocktails were just okay. Sweet enough to be creepers but you could definitely taste a decent amount of alcohol. I had the Saturn and Lei'd Back. The Pau Pau Platter was mid. It's meant for two people, but honestly, one person could finish it. Each app came with 2-3 pieces. Chicken wings: dry af. Coconut shrimp: burnt taste. Egg rolls: just okay. Rangoons: more wrapper than filling. Potstickers: didn't seem fresh. The Banh Mi fries were also just okay. Fries were hot and fresh, but they were drenched in way too much sauce, which made them soggy. The flavor profile didn't really hit like a banh mi... disappointing. The winner of the night? The dole whip with rum. I'd come back just for that.

Jungle Bird is a great place to end a night out with something yummy to sip on! The atmosphere and decor is super unique, even for a tiki bar. The only downside is that it can get a little crowded and busy which means that tables and bar tops aren't really wiped down between patrons and there's a lot of dried spills and stickiness. Otherwise, The cocktails & vibes are great! read more
My girl surprised me with a trip to this tiki bar, and she definitely picked a good one! We had so much fun. The food was good, the drinks were great, and the whole atmosphere made for a really fun date night. We started with the Pu Pu Platter, which came with veggie spring rolls, crab rangoon, coconut shrimp, chicken pot stickers, and Huli Huli chicken wings. What I really liked is that you can mix and match the platter. You don't necessarily have to get one of everything, so if you really like the pot stickers, for example, you can double up on those and substitute something else. Everything we had was really good! I also loved the presentation. It came out on a spinning tray with a little warmer in the middle, which was such a cool touch and really added to the tiki-bar experience. Since I'm not a big drinker, I went with a couple of mocktails. Sadly, I don't remember the names or flavors , but I do remember they were AMAZING! Even the fresh pineapple on the rim was good. We also ordered the togarashi fries, and those were really good too! Just watch out for those jalapeños because they had a little kick to them! The dipping sauce that came with the fries was really good as well. My only setback was the lighting. I know a tiki bar is supposed to have a dark atmosphere, but it was so dark that we had a hard time reading the menu and had to use the flashlights on our phones. We definitely weren't the only people doing it either. One last thing I have to mention, the bathroom was REALLY clean! I always appreciate that. Overall, I had a great experience. Aside from Trader Sam's at Disneyland--this is hands down my fake tiki bar! And I have my own home bar, so I'm picky! Drinks are delicious and not too fancy--I don't really want a drink that makes me feel like I got punched in the face. Strong, but not overly so. My faves are the Lava Flow and Macadamia Nut Chi Chi! Food and snacks are delicious! My go-to is Porch for dinner, JB for dranks! Street parking has always been easy to find Of note: their special popups are SO FUN! I've done Disney, Halloween and Christmas. The drinks and mugs are a blast, and the staff is always great. Go and have a blast! read more

I liked the jungle bird! I thought they had a really good selection of drinks. I got the lava flow and it was super good. My friend got the Saturn and also loved her drink. The service was fantastic super quick and friendly. The ambiance is cute it's very tropical inside. read more
My daughter turned 18 so we decided to try out a fun restaurant to celebrate! We walked in and the entry way was very reminiscent of the Tiki Room at Disneyland - very fun! We happened to be at the restaurant during Star Wars days (May the 4th be with you.) It was so dark in the restaurant it was really hard to see anything - menu, food, drinks, each other. That's not really my jam for a restaurant. We ordered drinks (2 alcoholic and one non) - Lava Flow and Don's Zombie We ordered the Chicken Katsu plate and the Fried Rice with Spam. It was good. Nothing to write home about. I don't remember the service being exceptional or terrible. We got our food in a reasonable amount of time. This restaurant is definitely for the ambiance - it's a fun environment, but not really a place to chat and catch up. read more

First time finally getting in after a previous visit when it was too crowded--so excited to snag a spot for three at the bar! This Sacramento tiki bar totally delivered. The ambiance is spot-on, capturing that fun, tropical tiki vibe. The craft cocktails were fantastic, and the bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable. Bought the signature Rio glass for fun--such a great touch. Hands down recommend for a unique and lively night out! Recommend!! read more
First time walking in here my son brought me i loved the ambiance dim lighting super tropical focused... Cool vibez i seen the bartender and immediately gravitated towards her. Shannon was super amazing friendly answering my million questions and making me feel welcome . Huge deal in my books. my drink was good i hope to be back to try the food here i heard the food is amazing. Also i walked out and and forgot my gucci sunglasses i was in the freeway when i remembered. honest stafff i called and they already had them put away for me !!! Honestly, the drinks are not very tasty or complex. The food as well was very bland, the pu pu platter tastes like a bunch of previously frozen food items thrown in a fryer for $30. The price point for food and drinks did not match the taste or quality to justify it. A friend and I were having a decent time until the main bartender (white female with tattoos) had a horrible attitude and was literally rolling her eyes every time she was asked a question or had to actually work. She was eavesdropping on our conversation and rolling her eyes at us trying to enjoy our time. Unbelievable. Not the vibe you want at a Tiki bar spending $100+. I do want to mention that the other women who were working at the bar were very kind and hospitable, but the one main bartender ruined the entire experience. Doubt I will ever be back. Very cool tiki bar .. we enjoyed our drinks and the appetizers we ordered ! The service was good , the only 2 complaints we had is it was absolutely too dark inside the bar and the nostalgic bamboo chairs had a lot of loose and sharp edges which caught on my new sweater and kinda of ruined it :-( .. Hopefully they will fix that as someone could get hurt on those sharp pieces . read more

I recommend the Don's Zombie & Navy Grog. I went with the Pupu Platter and enjoyed it very much. Comes with Veggie Spring Rolls, Crab Rangoon, Coconut Shrimp, Chicken Pot Stickers and Huli Huli Chicken Wings. I will be back! read more

Despite being a Sacramento staple for years now I would always hear mixed reviews about Jungle Bird. Instead of ever actually going to form my own opinion I'd listen to people claim "it's not really a bar it's more like a restaurant." Or the big one "the drinks are too costly." Maybe I'm a cocktail snob but I think the prices for these crafted cocktails are VERY reasonable and they pack a lot of punch - aka they are strong. And this is for sure more a bar feel with limited food options. Before I go into the drink/food selection I have to comment on the commitment to ambiance. BEAUTIFUL. Absolutely love the music and lightening sound effects with a flashing light. The framed tv screen showing a volcano with weather changes. Whether you sit at the bar or in the back the dark lit room makes you and your companion or group feel like you are intimately interacting. I came with a large group of six people and we had a BLAST. However please keep in mind large groups will need to place a deposit of 5 dollars per person when making the reservation and the deposit will be taken off the final bill. The drinks here are just fantastic. I'm a coconut girl and the mon chi chi nut is incredible with the coconut flavor paired with the macadamia nut liquor. I'm officially on a mission now to recreate this drink at home because it's THAT GOOD. All the cocktails me and my friends got were fantastic and as stated earlier they are strong drinks! After only two I was feeling a buzz and hunger set in. They have limited food options, and I think some of the food is just ok but the appetizers were delicious. The crab rangoons and coconut shrimp were the stand out dishes. The poke nachos were good but wish it had more tuna, and the banyan burger was yummy but nothing special. After coming here once I convinced a friend to go with me another time and now I'm begging others to join me as well for a third time. YES the cocktails are THAT GOOD. So glad I finally had a friend drag me here for her birthday to form my own opinion and I can't wait to try every cocktail on the menu. read more
We made a special trip to Sacramento to check out Jungle Bird. We arrived about half an hour before our reservation and decided to start at the bar. The bartenders were very friendly and answered a few of our questions. I had come in hoping to order a colorful drink they had posted on Instagram earlier that day, only to find out it was an old item they no longer make. We were also hoping to get the Jungle Bird swizzles that have been featured in recent Instagram posts, but were told they haven't carried them in at least two years due to cost. Kind of a let down to post drinks and merch that no longer exist. Our suggestion for the owner would be to consider keeping the swizzles in stock for tiki enthusiasts who would happily pay a little extra, especially since it sounds like they get plenty of requests. The ambiance is a lot of fun--beautiful tiki décor throughout, a great collection of bird paintings by the bar, and nicely set booths. The display of tiki mugs was also fantastic. Once the rest of our party arrived, we were taken to our table. Unfortunately, that's when the service started to slip. We were given water and our server took our initial food and drink orders, which arrived promptly, but after that we were never checked on again. Someone in our group who hadn't ordered yet had to attempt to flag down the server multiple times. It became pretty clear he was juggling a lot on the patio, as we saw him running back and forth, but he never returned to check on us, leaving our table full of empty dishes. It might be better if inside and outside sections were handled separately so the service doesn't suffer. As for the food--it was delicious. I enjoyed everything on the Pu-pu Platter, and the pork belly bao were fantastic. The Banh Mi fries had amazing flavor, though the fries themselves were quite soggy; crispier fries would make that dish perfection. And the drinks: the Plankwalker was just as amazing as we expected, with the funky rum really shining through. The other drinks we tried were okay, but nothing else particularly stood out. We would have happily ordered another Plankwalker, if we'd had the chance to place another order. All in all, it was a fun night. Hopefully on our next visit there will be some new merch--and maybe a bit more attentive service. read more

Had some drinks with friends after work on a Tuesday. Place wasn't too packed. My friend made reservation just in case. It was too hot to sit outside on this day. The vibe inside is along the lines of Pirates of the Caribbean. From the lighting and sounds, it was awesome. We had the painkillers. Favorite drink of our group! Tropical, good flavor, pineapple. My friend also ordered Pu Pu Platter ( wings, crab Rangoon, chicken potsticker, veggie spring rolls) and Banh Mi Fries (fries with pork belly kahlua pork, jalapeños, pickled onions, ranch). All were delicious. Staff checked on us often. read more
Went to Jungle Bird for the Disney week and it was mediocre. The cups weren't that cute and they were pretty expensive. Some of the food items were out and we could only order off the Disney food menu. I had a reservation that I paid $5/per person/$20 in total, which was supposed to be refunded on my bill. The waitress said that it wouldn't be refunded on my bill and that I would get a refund later on. Well I never got the refund. Looking at the reservation, it specifically said I would be credited on the bill. Drinks were pretty sweet and I couldn't taste the alcohol. Glad I got to see what the Disney hype was about and I definitely won't be back next year. read more

First off let me say how awesomely cool it was that they had a Disney themed week / weekend with themed drinks/ mugs you can purchase. Not sure how often they do themes but the day we happened to go it was the start of their Disney theme. With that being said, here's why 3 stars was given. Cons 1: It was our first time here so of course we didn't know that you needed a reservation to get a spot/table, we found 2 seats at a counter across from the bar but there were two ladies who got their ID checked before ours and the host came over and said we had to move since those ladies were before us and they needed a seat. No big deal but the host had no regard that it was our first time and basically was like you can't sit there / need to move elsewhere and if you can find two seats at the bar good luck. 2: We did happen to find two open seats but we're separated however the nice couple agreed to move over so my cousin and I could sit together. As we're sitting there we notice how hot it actually is in there, like sweating hot and it wasn't just us. The people that ended up sitting next to us said wow it's super stuffy and hot in here. 3:Got the Mai Tai and although I appreciated the stiffness of it, it did not taste like a Mai Tai at all. Pros 1: Bartenders were awesome / attentive 2: Themes that they do 3: It's a VIBE for sure 4:They have plenty of options to choose from 5: They have single restrooms 6: They have mocktails Did not know they also serve food, would like to go back and give this cool place another try. HIGHLY suggest making a reservation especially during themed weeks otherwise you won't be able to sit unless at the bar or unless you come back at 12AM (midnight). That's when the host said tables would be available. read more
Really cool tiki bar!! There is a lot of inside seating and some outside in the back as well. The inside lights are dimmed and every wall is decked out. I ordered a pina colada that came in a cool coconut shaped cup, and was stronger than I expected! Our server was very kind and came around frequently to check on us and fill waters. I also appreciate that they offer food as well, which is not the case with other tiki bars in the area. read more

Is this an all ages establishment, when folks are seated at the tables? Aka, can we bring our children when we go to eat and have drinks here?
It's more of a bar vs kid-friendly spot, so I don't know. It's very small and tables are small.

They not only have specific signature non-alcoholic drinks, they also have many non-alcoholic versions of their more fufu alcohol drinks which are made up of mixers and stuff.…

Unless they added misters I would say inside unless you're they're very late.

Absolutely! But we go to 21+ when food service ends. Food service ends 10pm Sunday- Thursday and 12pm Friday/Saturday.

They are open 4pm to 2 am Tuesday-Sunday

10pm Sunday-Thursday. Midnight Friday and Saturday. I work there. This is the actual truth.
What is the parking like? Any recommendations on where to park?
I've never had trouble. Most times either right in front or across the street. The furthest I had to park was around the corner.

Is this place good for kids? My 2 year old LOVES themed restaurants :)
No. This is a dark bar that opens at 4pm til about 2am. Not a place for kids. Definitely not a 2 year old.
