Algo Bueno is an authentic Mexican restaurant on Northgate Blvd. Spacious dining area with lots of dining tables as well as a bar serving your choice of libation. There are a couple of TVs at the bar tuned to sports channels. Awesome, colorful mural on one of the huge walls and music playing. Server provided chicharrones along with my drink. Ordered the following dishes: **2 chicken street tacos 4/5, $4.50 **2 steak street tacos 5/5, $4.50 **Wet steak burrito 5/5, $15.75 The street tacos were delicious!! And the wet steak burrito was super delectable and flavorful! Sooo much better when it's wet ;) with the savory green sauce and lots of creamy sour cream on top. Great service! I really enjoyed my very first visit. I had a carnitas crispy taco, a carne asada crispy taco and AB Shrimp taco and they have a Soup Flight which I chose their menudo oh wow the menudo was very, very tasty and yummy. After this first visit I knew I would return. Now mind you I just ordered tacos...I didn't specify (crispy) Luckily my God was watching over my order and I received (crispy) tacos!!! Just the way I like em...crispy and cheesy. The second time I tried their fish tacos and I specified crispy. But I was disappointed it seemed like they tried to make them crispy??? But I'm not sure how they came out so different from the first time??? The first fish taco I picked up everything fell off. And I just wasn't impressed. Second fish taco everything stayed in the taco but the crunchy, crispy, cheesy goodness still wasn't there. But the flavors were better with all the fixings staying in the taco. Ordered the surf and turf taco plate from their toast online ordering system for pick up . It was picked up within 15 mins. I was expecting carne asada and shrimp tacos instead I got soggy birria tacos with shrimp inside them. The rice tasted old and microwaved . The beans were ok. My family and I checked out Algo Bueno for dinner last night for the first time - it is located off of Northgate Blvd in Natomas! The interior had a large bar area with tvs plus a good amount of seating - for both small and larger parties. I also loved the murals painted on the walls. We sat down and we were given complimentary Chicharrones de Rueda, we also ordered chips and salsa. For our meals, we ordered Mulitas, Street Tacos and a Kids Bean and Cheese Burrito. My husband and I really liked the Mulitas and Street Tacos! We asked for all flavors of salsa too and they were all fire! My husband was a big fan of the pineapple habanero one! Their table hot sauce was super good too! My daughter liked her burrito, but my only complaint was the cheese not being melted inside. Overall, the food was great and staff were friendly, attentive and personable. The guy with the long braids did a great job taking care of our table! We'll definitely be back very soon! Came here on their 4 year anniversary, walked in to a Live DJ and friendly vibes. Our table tried the soup flight, Pazole Red, Pazole Green, and Albondigas. All were good. Tons of parking behind the restaurant. Cute little entrance with garden walks but the bench is hard so be careful when you sit and are expecting the cushion to do something. There is a very long bar with 3 big screens playing your favorite sports. There's about 290 marble top tables inside. We were seated almost immediately on a Sunday afternoon. They serve wagon wheel shaped puffed floor chicharones with Tapatio. Here's what we ordered: Surf & Turf taco Plate - 9 - Taco was amazing as well as the ranch/refried beans but the rice was a little dry and meh. Crunchy chicken taco - 8 - Chicken was super flavorful but the burned tortilla flavor dominated the flavor profile I'd try this again as a street taco AB Shrimp Taco - 9 - A little spicier than the breaded shrimp taco but a touch too simple to be perfect (maybe add cabbage?) Quesa Birria Taco - 8 - Good meat flavor, could use cilantro and onions to add on. Once again the burnt tortilla flavor ruins the finish on this bite. Breaded Shrimp Taco - 10 - Light crunch, lots of cabbage and sauce make this a hit Mulita de Adobada - 10 - Boldlavor and crunchy got texture all in one!!! I ordered the albondigas, and while they were good, I felt like they were missing a little something in the flavor department. Where do I start for Algo Bueno?? This place is amazing. First you walk in and the decor is awesome and atmosphere is lively, there's lots of seating as well. The staff was very very welcoming, nice, and super helpful! They have a few TV screens inside and one of them was showing a very well produced promo video for all that the restaurant offers - that was really cool to see! So my husband asked for a mezcal and like pineapple juice or something and they amused him by making him one - he loved it. The rest of us ordered drinks and they were so good! We honestly went there because I saw on Instagram they offer SOUP FLIGHTS, yes flights of soup! I love soup. Right when we walked through the door we were greeted with a huge smile from our waitress. Very clean and pleasant atmosphere. Many customers came by through out our visit. We went here on March 1st for dinner around 7:00 p.m. ish. It was a bit busy when we got there. There were at least six other table seated with at least four people on each table and as we got seated ourselves you could tell that the restaurant was preparing for a bigger party to come in because they were putting three tables together. It took a few minutes for them to give us menus as they were trying to again set up for the bigger party. The waitress that came to take our order was very polite and nice and did apologize for the wait. We asked some questions about the menu regarding some of the specials and ended up choosing to do some a la carte items and one plate. I will say I thought about getting a margarita and I wanted a specific tequila used. The waitress did explain to me that it would be an additional $5 for the single shot which means that the margarita would have been $17. I did choose not to get that after all. The items we chose were two tostadas one that was a seafood mix of fish and shrimp. The other one was a shrimp and mango tostada. The other item we got was a birria tacos plate. For all items they were good but not astounding. I say that because the mixed tostada was missing flavor. I could taste a hint of the citrus that was used but not enough and that was after I added the additional little pieces that were given to me. The mango shrimp Posada was definitely better because the mango sweetness did give it a nice taste and it did need a little bit more spice to it not spiciness but just flavor it felt like I could mainly taste mango. And this next statement applies to all three items. The addition of salt to all the different pieces was necessary in order to give it flavor that was cohesive. Especially in the consummate that was given to dip the birria tacos in. Once you added salt it definitely had more flavor. The reason this was a three and not a four is that the big call out was the rice was a little hard. I couldn't tell if it had been sitting out for a while or had been undercooked but definitely had a little bit of a bite to it that we did not expect. Also the beans had a unique flavor that we couldn't pinpoint. Both those sides were left on the plate and not really touched. Overall the place is definitely popular, are waitress was very nice and polite, and the food was generally okay but definitely needed more seasoning and we were a bit confused with the quality of the sides. read more

I saw an instagram about their Soup Flight and I had to try it. Came in this morning with my wife and saw the Chalkboard with a list of Soups on it. I was very pleased to see that I was able to choose and wasn't limited to something I wasn't really wanting. I chose the Menudo,Pozole, and Albondigas. My wife had the Pozole, Albondigas, and Carne en Jugo. They came with all the Fixins and three sides of salsa's. We also had a choice of Flour or tostada tortillas. We chose the flour. We were thinking about ordering a side torta because we thought it may not be filling. I'm glad we didn't because the serving size was perfect! Food was so good we had to come back literally 4 days later. Yes, we came here because of IG/tiktok from an influencer. Super easy to find the restaurant and had ample parking in their lot. We came here during dinner rush on Friday and it was busy with what seemed like a party, a large group at another table and other groups. There seemed to only be one server during this rush and she was sweet and got us everything we needed. It took a minute for her to get to us after we were seated but we understood it was busy. Only downside with the service was that we had no idea on how we close out. The server brought our check over and when my bf and I were done eating we were so confused on what we had to do in order to pay. Mother's Day visit after church was great. Service was really nice. I was craving some street tacos, so I drove 30 minutes based on a friends recommendation. I tried the Asada, carnitas and adobada each were $3.75. I also had an AB Shrimp taco ($5) and it loaded. Just got done doing an hour of cardio so I ordered 2 more AB shrimp. Overall the street tacos were what I was craving, simple onions and cilantro with a squeeze of lime. I requested Titos unfortunately they did not Carry that and was offered a generic brand so I just got the drink. After observing their bar, I noticed they had Kettle One. Why would she not offer me that ? Wouldn't a bartender try/offer something comparable to customers? I would think the upgrade would be a couple more bucks In the business pocket. The shrimp was OK (this wasn't the AB Shrimp). J's large super birria burrito (added side of consome) was also great! Complimentary chicharrones chips and salsa -- the mango habanero was sweet but deadly. The red was also hot, the green a milder tomatillo. We also ordered a side of freshly fried tortilla chips and seasoned fries (was it tajin?). I also got a medium Horchata (non-alcoholic), although they did say they had a version with Hennesy and caramel. A few other tables ordered Micheladas/CoronaRitas and pina coladas. The bar was lively with music and sports/shows on the TVs. In hindsight, I may get a regular-sized burrito, burrito bowl, or tacos next time. Another new item I saw was a soup flight, neat! Today, i was hung over af from my grandmothers funeral. It was only me. Parking lot is a tad small but inside is spacious. We were greeted and sat immediately. Our server was kind enough to take his time answering my husband's questions about a few items on the menu, which was appreciated. I also liked that they served Doritos (churros, pinwheels or whatever you call them) instead of chips and salsa. We did have to ask for limes and hot sauce for them which I'd think would have been a given for each customer. We both opted to get the camarones a la kora and it was bomb. Perfect blend of lime and spice. I found out after I could have asked for them already peeled, which I'll do for sure next time because I hate peeling shrimp. I also got the pastor taco and it had good flavor, I do wish the pineapple was a little bigger chunks tho. My first visit here was enjoyable. Came in with my wife her daughter and daughter's boyfriend, for a Saturday night dinner. There was a bit of a wait for a table but it was quite busy. A DJ was playing music and was a bit loud for my taste but it was good music. The food arrived and it was tasty fresh and not a long wait considering how busy it was. But think I think I probably had like 3 of them. The carne soup was pretty good though. The albonicas was okay. I did appreciate the veggies in it. Those were nicely cooked So you why the three stars? Well one big thing is the price on their menu is not what we were charged. For the soup flights it was $3 more. My soups were all at different temperatures, with one of them tasting almost cold... it was VERY lukewarm. We did have some great pinwheels to enjoy during our wait but sheez! Then the taco.... well I could taste no surf with the turf. It was tasty but where they hid the shrimp... I couldn't tell. I should have taken a picture but believe me they can do better. Then we didn't ask for an itemized check. Please review your check! I had overheard another table telling someone about a $3 overcharge. I should have been nosier. What we found out was that they charged us $3 more for each soup flight than what is advertised on their menu. The waitress apologized and said they will change the menus "soon". She knew of the error but didn't bring an itemized check and didn't say anything until after my friend paid.
