Paid $199 out of pocket for this, and I honestly feel like I wasted my money. This was the worst cleaning I've had. It was extremely rough and more painful than anything I've experienced before. My gums were left irritated and bleeding way more than what's normal for a routine cleaning. I know there is discomfort and yea I don't floss every day, I get my teeth cleaned every 6 months and nothing compared to this visit. I usually go to brightwood dental in Atascadero but recently my insurance changed and iv paid out of pocket to come to Paso Robles dental before and thought it was great besides this visit There was also no real patient care. No check ins, no communication.. nothing. At one point I had saliva/water running down my face down to my neck and the hygienist didn't do anything until I was trying to stop her so I can clean it myself, then she proceeded to give me this 2x2 piece of gauze that was clearly not enough for the amount of spit that I had come up . That alone says a lot about the level of attention here. The biggest issue is the cleaning didn't even feel finished. The backs of my teeth didn't feel cleaned, and there was no mirror check or any effort to confirm the job was done properly. For $199, this felt rushed and low quality. I won't be back. If you're paying out of pocket, I'd think twice before coming here. I was going to book an appointment after this one to do their teeth whitening package but after this experience i will be going elsewhere. When I moved to Paso Robles last May, I needed to find all new providers. Little did I know, well, good luck with that. If you are lucky to find one that's taking new patients, you have to wait months for an appointment. However, for finding a dentist, boom! They fit me in within a week. I've been twice now for cleaning. Haley is a superstar, how could a Hygienist be better?! I dare you to find one. Then, there is Dr Joe. So nice, so knowledgeable, and so funny. Love him. New to Paso I received a beautiful glossy ad offering Exam cleaning and x-rays for 125... Office seemed upscale the dentist was friendly and chatty. The cleaning was pretty much what I do at home. Have you ever had a massage where you feel like they're just going through the motions and touching the skin but not even making the effort to get to the muscles? Well that's what the dental cleaning was like, she was bored, distracted and just ran through it. Besides being new to the community and wanted to get set up with a good dentist I was concerned that one implant had been loosening. Set an appointment to come back to meet with a specialist over that. I've been through that before and it was a simple matter of tightening it and putting the little coating back over in and out five minutes, free. As this dentist did not do the initial work I didn't expect it to be free. But $300? Also the attitude that he had to bring a specialist in to look at it. The specialist took two seconds stuck his finger in said yup it's loose needs to be tightened, the dentist walked in and started talking to me like I was a five-year-old child to explain what had happened. What had happened was exactly what I had told him had happened, I've been through it before. Then spent five minutes and charged me $300. Second issue. Another tooth was giving me just a little bit of trouble and we discussed pulling it, root canal and post. I told him I had not made up my mind. Made an appointment for a dental cleaning on 12 January. Two weeks ago I called back and said I made my decision and I would like to use that appointment to go forward with the post. I was told if there was any problem in switching the nature of the appointment on the 12th they will call and let me know. I heard nothing. Yesterday I got a reminder of my appointment on the 12th. I decided to call today just to confirm that everything was OK. You probably see where this is going. There was no note of my call, nothing had been changed he will not pull a tooth, What kind of a dentist can't pull a tooth? He has the specialist come in, a new appointment to be set and at this point now the tooth is really is giving me grief. I canceled my appointment. I see no skill in this office, no communication, And no reason to ever go back. read more

Having just moved to Paso Robles, we had not yet established a local dental provider. I had a dental emergency and PR Dental Care got me in same day; Dr Joe was amazing and very friendly. Staff was also very welcoming. Would love to make this practice my primary but oddly even though I have a Anthem/Delta PPO group plan with high spend allowance, PR Dental Care is out of network leading to much $ out of pocket. FYI there's a new dentist at this office, Dr. Joe. He is very nice and explains things clearly so you don't have trouble following along. My gosh, I love this dental practice! First of all, Rob (front desk/patient coordinator) is SO welcoming! His warm smile and welcoming demeanor are just what you need when you walk into a dentists office (if you're a bit nervous, like me). I was told by another dentist that the ONLY way to treat me was to place several, very expensive implants-implants I absolutely could not afford, not to mention having to have a surgical sinus lift and bone grafts that would be multiple THOUSANDs of dollars! But at Paso Robles dental, they came up with a plan for me (partial denture) that was WAY less expensive! If that was not enough, they also arranged a reasonable payment plan that I could work into my budget! Additionally, Dr. Christina Tran is WONDERFUL! I cannot say enough good about her-she cares, listens, and advocates for you! I've never had a dentist I LOVE, nor felt compelled to write a review about, but if you're looking for a dentist that has reasonable prices, friendly staff, and an all around calm and safe feel, this is your office! read more

I have been going to Paso Robles dental care for over four years. Over the course of the 4 years I have received numerous fillings and some minor dental treatments. I have had numerous billing issues and had often felt I was being overcharged. During my last and final visit I had a filling done. After being initially numbed I waited in the chair for literally 33 minutes before the dentist came in to took a look at my mouth. The dentist hastily filled it in my cavity and the dentist used an amalgam filling instead of the new White fillings that dentists have been using for many years. This was not my first unpleasant experience and I finally decided to leave after having many similar experiences here. I am greatly enjoying my new dentist who is far more gentle and caring about my teeth and I've had no billing issues as a matter of fact a cavity being filled at this dentist cost me over $120 and my new dentist costs under 40. The reason I didn't go to this dentist for cleaning was I was always concerned over how long it was going to take and now I am actually looking forward to getting my teeth cleaned. This is not a dental office. It is a dental factory. I have been here for awhile and it is time to find a new dentist. Went in yesterday for a cleaning and never actually saw a dentist (as has been standard practice). Went I. Today for a retainer mold and the dentist that I did see had a negative attitude and acted unprofessionally. I did not have the mold completed. Once upon a time in this office, you would have the same hygienist from start to finish with your cleaning. No longer the case. One person cleans, another polishes and you are on your way.
