Horrible mechanic. The old guy is a huge ripoff. Overcharged us and did not even complete the job. Save yourself and go elsewhere.

Working with Joseph Caraballo was hands down the best car-buying experience I have ever had. From…read morethe moment I walked in, there was zero pressure and no typical dealership games. They actually listened to what I needed, walked me through every feature with incredible knowledge, and made the pricing entirely transparent. If you want a smooth, honest, and respectful experience, ask for Joseph Caraballo!

I've been a customer of Rockland Hyundai for 11 years, and even bought my Hyundai Sonata Hybrid…read morefrom them. After everything I've experienced, I can confidently say this dealership has become dishonest, unprofessional, and completely unworthy of anyone's trust. When I purchased my car, they didn't even provide a proper printed invoice. They scribbled numbers on a tiny piece of scratch paper -- who does that for a car worth thousands of dollars? That alone shows the level of "professionalism" you can expect here. My latest visit on Thursday, 9/10/26 was the final straw. I brought my car in because the left rear brake was grinding and rubbing at low speed. After waiting over two hours, Chris, the service advisor, came back with an outrageous diagnosis: Caliper replacement, rear brake pads, rear rotors: $1,835 Brake fluid: $200 Diagnostic fee: $225 Those fees are before taxes and additional 3% for credit card fee. No parts list. No breakdown. No explanation. Just "caliper." This is not transparency -- this is ridiculous pricing. I chose to pay only the diagnostic fee, and they still slapped on a 3% credit card fee. Most businesses and dealerships in Rockland and New York do NOT charge customers that fee. Rockland Hyundai does it because they want pure profit, even on something as small as a diagnostic. It's greedy and shameless. I spoke with several mechanics afterward, and every single one said the caliper price was ridiculously inflated. And guess what? I got the repair done somewhere else for much less. The customer service was just as bad. Jimmy Shorter at the front desk was rude, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. When I reported his behavior to Steve Digg, the director, his response was dismissive and defensive. He actually said, "I didn't see Jimmy do that to you." Of course he didn't -- he wasn't there. That's why I reported it. His attitude showed zero accountability and denial. Then he told me Jimmy is new, only one month in the position, and previously worked as a valet parking attendant. That explains the behavior, but it doesn't excuse it. If someone is not trained or not suited for the job, don't put them in front of customers. After this experience, I'm not sure if I will go back to Rockland Hyundai for all my future repairs. They overcharge, they hide information, they pass fees to customers, and they treat people like walking profit -- not customers. I do not recommend this dealership to anyone. Take your business to a Hyundai location that is honest, transparent, and actually respects the people who keep them in business.
