We love this little Italian coffee spot! The cappuccinos are sooo good -- creamy, smooth, and perfectly made every time. The pastries are just as amazing (seriously, don't skip them). The staff is super friendly and welcoming, and the whole place has such a cozy, relaxed vibe. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, which makes it great whether you're grabbing coffee to-go or hanging out for a bit. A new discovery for me right here in Norwalk. Though this place has been around d for over four years I somehow never stumbled on it. This is an Italian Cafe as much as an Italian could be. With staff who speak Italian, customers who talk in Italian, Italian songs on the radio and all things Italian on display. The only exception was the tea that I ordered which was English, oh well!! We ordered a bunch of stuff including the Nutella Muffin, Peach Cornette and a Postachio Bomboline. All were excellent, but I would definitely highlight the muffin which just melted in the mouth. Beautiful spot on a sunny day. Sat outside under the umbrellas with a latte and mixed berry filled pastry. Busy and boisterous on a Sunday morning (free parking). After lunch in the area we decided to stop here for some gelato. We had recently been to Italy and we were in need of some gelato. I had a Cappacino and a tiramisu gelato while my girlfriend had a strawberry gelato. Ultimately, it was good. The small café has several tables inside and more outside of the café. Lobster Claws was crispy and yummy. foccacia prosciutto sandwich with lettuce tomato & cheese, was so good and big enough for two people. (Must try) Latte was good, not bitter and stays hot during the whole meal because of the double wall coffee mug. I also like their coffee. A welcome addition to the apparent "gentrification" of the area. Very friendly service in an intimate setting. No matter what time of day they always seem to be busy, and well deserved! Their coffee is smooth and rich without bitterness. And they offer a selection of alternative, milk like almond & pistachio. Seating for approximately 20. Although there is intention to expand in the summer of 2023. Their traditionally crafted cappuccinos and lattes are perfection. I have not tried the gelato as of yet. What a cute place. Small selection but great service. We ordered and sat outside and they brought a whole set up to us. Delicious cappuccino, great tea and biscotti (which actually appeared to be sugar cookies, but yummy nonetheless). Pausa Caffe is a brand new coffee shop in Norwalk. The owners are from Italy and offer authentic Italian desserts and drinks. Everything in the cafe is imported from Italy, with the exception of the bottled water, which the owner told me, he is planning to change in the future as well! While the coffee and the desserts were great, I think I may have loved the atmosphere in the place the most! When you walk in there is Italian music playing, the sounds of people speaking in Italian, and I kid you not, as we were sitting there enjoying our coffee and treats a man came in and loudly announced "Buongiorno!". I was able to speak to the owners about their new place and hear their passion for offering a truly authentic experience with their cafe. They have so many plans for the future - things like offering gelato, outdoor dining, and maybe even beer and wine in the distant future. I went with my husband and four year old daughter and it was wonderful experience. The latte and macchiato were great. (They do have almond and oat milk!) I wanted to try a few items so we got the chocolate croissant (which is made there), the tiramisu and a pistachio cannoli. The chocolate croissant was pretty good. The tiramisu wasn't bad, but it wasn't the most amazing one I've ever had. The lady finger on top was a little dry, however, underneath it the rest of the cake was moist and delicious. The pistachio cannoli was amazing though!!! I highly recommend it! The cafe offers a variety of take home food items as well. From pastas to cookies and other Italian yummies (I was told on Friday they would have Buffalo Mozzarella!!!), this cafe is a great addition to Norwalk! I know this is going to sound silly, but I loved the experience so much, I left wanting to learn Italian and travel to Italy! The inside looked recently renovated and their coffee set up behind the bar was extensive. They sell a bunch of Italian packaged goods which is great and ease of access for anyone looking for speciality jams, cookies and antipasti goods. We ordered a large American coffee with milk and pistachio flavour. It was supposed to be $3.75 but we were charged $4 - no biggie. I'm a coffee connoisseur and it was just okay. It wasn't as strong as I would have liked it to be and it was far too sweet with no pistachio flavour. I wish I could align with everyone's rave reviews! The show case of baked goods was a little lack lustre. Just a bunch of lobster claws and what looked like mini mousses or cheesecakes. There was gelato as well, but it was pricy in my opinion. $5 for a very small cup and $8 for a large cup. The photos from what everyone else posted look amazing and maybe if I dined in the experience would have been different. However, the service was good. The woman who made our coffee was kind. Hopefully I can try dining in before I leave. read more

I found Pausa Caffe in the most random way possible - someone commented on a YouTube video recommending Pausa as an authentic Italian cafe. We decided to check it out and authentic is an understatement. All of the employees are Italian (from Italy) and it took me back to our trip there from a few years ago. You won't find overly sweet or neon colored gelato here. It's authentic. There aren't a lot of options, but the few options are well made. The pistachio is definitely the best gelato I've had in the U.S.. There is a mini-market inside where you can find a curated selection of pasta, sauces, beverages, pastries, and our toddler's favorite baby biscotti. They also have some fresh pastries and a selection of various coffee offerings. I had a cappuccino and it was excellent. The ambience of the place is really special. It feels like a family business with a lot of love and attention placed into every detail. We came in with our toddler before and they were really nice to him. I didn't ask for a high chair - maybe they have it or maybe they don't. I can't say. He was very happy to sit on a chair like a big boy eagerly awaiting his next baby biscotto and spoonful of gelato. Kid approved! They have outdoor seating, which will be great once the weather warms up. We've never had trouble finding parking directly in front of the restaurant or within half a block. I finally discovered Pausa Caffe after seeing a segment on News12 about them. Amazing! First off, the staff is warm and welcoming. The music brings me back to my Italian roots and sets the mood. We had two focaccia sandwiches. One had the thinnest grilled zucchini and eggplant with sundried tomatoes and arugula. My mouth is still watering over it! The second was prosciutto, fresh tomato, arugula, and the freshest mozzarella I've had in years. The milk was running from it! Wow! And we treated ourselves to two iced cappuccinos (excellent and worth a visit just for the coffee), a tiramisu (nice and moist as it should be), and a sfogliatelle. The sfogliatelle was incredible -- crispy on the outside with a moist filing. We could immediately tell how fresh everything was. This is a hidden gem of a caffe and we'll definitely become regulars! read more

Delicious espresso - dark, nutty, chocolate undertones, perfect bitterness - served in a really cool double walled glass with a fancy schmancy spoon.
