The visit was a five star visit, but I don't want to give a full five stars until I've been to a restaurant two or more times. We stopped here on our journey home for lunch. My three kids and myself. The gentleman that greeted us was extremely friendly and very welcoming. My eight year old son and two year old daughter shared the mussels which they absolutely loved, my five year old just got plain pasta which was cooked perfectly, and I got the veal martini I think it was called. That was delicious and exactly what I was in the mood for. The broccoli and carrots that were on my dish were also cooked where they were still With texture. My daughter ate half my broccoli on me. Then we got the chocolate mousse cake to share which was delicious and I got a double espresso to help me on the rest of our journey home. It's cozy but relaxing. Primavera offers both comfort food and elevated cuisine. You can't go wrong with either. From the bread, to the apps, to the mains and then dessert, it all adds up to a primo spread. The veal chop special was an A+! Doesn't look like much when you drive but but it is a full restaurant with an appropriately priced wine selection. The food was tasty but the pasta little over cooked for my taste, and the flavors can be more distinct. Flavors were just average. Nice friendly staff and prompt service, but should get read of the plastic covered menus... it cheapens the feel of the nice white linens. This is a MUST TRY spot if you're in the area. My husband and I stopped here for dinner on a Sunday night and we were greeted by the incredibly sweet and friendly owner. We ordered the Veal Martini and Veal Parmigiano - the food, the pleasant atmosphere with subtle Italian music playing in the background immediately took us back to the cozy days we spent in Italy. The portion sizes of our dishes were really generous so we were very full at the end of our meal, but the owner was too kind to serve us a complimentary dessert! What a hidden gem - always drive down New Canaan Ave and wondered about this spot, thrilled to have entered this secret corner of homemade heaven. The service was super attentive, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was intimate without being too quiet for our party of 5 - we spent about 2 hours there and it didn't feel like time was dragging at all. Caesar salad was good - I could've used more dressing but it was probably for the best - I split it as an app with my MIL. Their starter bread is delicious and crusty and that dipping sauce/oil is divine - I should've asked for a container to take home! Of all our dishes I only one I tried besides my own was the Chilean sea bass which was so perfectly cooked and a huge portion, super fresh. You can tell that they really care at this establishment - about how they treat their customers, the quality and prep of the food and overall ambiance. Ordered take-out last night on a recommendation from a friend. Great food! Everything we had was terrific - from the salad dressing to bread, penne vodka, cheese ravioli, bolognese,...fantastic! Even the fried calamari was all circles and no tentacles which we prefer. The best part was...my tummy was 100% great after which doesn't often happen after restaurant food. My husband and I went for lunch and I get the fuss now. We sat outside and loved all the flowers and plants to insulate from new Canaan ave traffic. Fresh, hot bread with excellent sun dried tomato tapenade to start. My Caesar salad was divine. The penne a la vodka with prosciutto was so good; I shed a salty tear of joy. My husband got the veal parm; sauce was too sweet for my taste but veal was nice. Can't wait to come back and try other dishes. read more

Take note that there are limited tables so the typical Friday and Saturday dines will require reservations PARKING - located in a small strip mall area means parking will be a challenge but not impossible. AMBIANCE - very rustic and romantic. I'd also add old Italian charm to the decor SERVICE - family owned establishment and as friendly as you can get. Owner was our waiter so you can see how family oriented the restaurant is. APPETIZERS - tried the broccoli rabe and it was very good. The beans were great and the rape was not stringy and only mildly bitter at the ends. The sausage was just OK. Wife had side of spinach with a great garlic flavor. Not overpowering but just right ENTREES - I tried the linguini and clams and to my surprise it was really good and prepared differently. Perfect Long Island clams and a great sauce with just the right flavor. Don't want to describe more to jade your opinion. Try for yourself PRICE - I give it $$$ not low cost but not expensive. I tried this restaurant out with a friend a few days ago and absolutely loved the experience. There is parking available in the front and on the side. The restaurant itself is nice and cozy. We came here for lunch and it wasn't too busy when I arrived. However, as time went by it became busier and there's no doubt that people love coming here for the delicious food and impeccable service. When I arrived Luca seated me and offered us the bread with condiments. It was warm and delicious. I got the Snapper with vegetables (fish of the day) which was cooked perfectly as requested. My friend got chicken scarp which was absolutely delicious as well. The tiramisu was just a slice of heaven. Luca was extremely attentive and personable. He went above and beyond for us and every other customer. We will definitely be coming back for more!!! read more

Food is excellent here. The complimentary bread was warm, crusty on the outside, and pillowy soft on the inside. The sun dried tomato dip for that was very good. The linguine vongole was delicious, very lemony. We also had pollo francese, which was very good. Just wished it came with a side of pasta because that sauce was very tasty. I have lived in Norwalk for 20 years and I don't know how I have never been here. It doesn't get more auntentic Italian food than this. I had the Zuppa DiPesce on a spicy red sauce and my husband had the Fettuccini Bolognese, both amazing but my seafood pasta was even better... Some of the best pasta I have ever had! I definitely recommend the Linguini Vongole! I loved it so much that I had to order it for take out a couple days later and Luca (the owner) remembered me from the weekend before. He even remembered my drink order! The service is great. I just moved to Norwalk over a year ago from NY and this place makes me feel like home. The food is amazing! Although everything I had from here was been delicious, the clams casino, veal and penne vodka are my favorite! Even the oil and bread are one of the best around and I'm very picky with my Italian food. Very covid friendly inside as the tables are more than 6ft apart from each other and the staff always wear masks, very sanitary, tables and utensils always spotless. I was looking for something vegetarian, didn't see it on the menu, but the owner offered to make me a vegetarian primavera, nice We were a group of 6, which is big compared to the size of the place, they sit maybe 30 people. We had a reservation and arrived right on time, however they didn't have a table available. Wouldn't even be worth mentioning, but the place is so small. There's no bar, so your only place wait is at the door, which is in the middle of the dining room. So we're standing there, it becomes obvious that there wasn't a table or configuration of tables that could accommodate 6, freeing up anytime soon. Some people were finishing up their meals, most were just starting. So the owner asked a couple to change tables and the other one had just finished. We now had our table! Overall pricing was a bit steep for pasta but it's worth a visit. read more

My husband and I were looking for somewhere new to celebrate my birthday and I'm so glad we tried Primavera! Luca (the owner) immediately made us feel welcome and chatted with us like we were old friends - seriously, he is so sweet! Inside is on the fancy side (think tablecloths, formal dinnerware setup, etc) but still had a real casual, unpretentious vibe that we loved. Great spot for date night. Finally, food. We tried a lot and it was all so good! Apps: Crab Cakes and Fried Ravioli - both delicious and tasted very fresh. Main course: we shared the Beet Salad, Surf & Turf and Penne a la Vodka - generous portions, great flavors. The dipping sauce for the Surf n Turf was AMAZING. Dessert: I forget what it was called on the menu, but it was basically a little Chocolate Mousse tower and every bite was awesome. I think his wife makes it fresh every day, if I remember correctly. AND they bring fresh bread and oil for dipping. Bottom line: hubby was still talking about the food the next morning, so I know it's a win!
