    Calamari Fritti

My 3 stars is for the atrocious service on a a Tuesday night with one waiter, one busboy, one guy to deliver food and one guy clearing dishes. Working two sides of a restaurant, one inside the other outside proves to be a challenge and patiently waiting for someone to bring me another cocktail. It was my birthday and told them when making reservations. Other guests had the celebration cannoli, had to remind them. Overall found imperfections in execution of dishes, but I'm very critical. Mussels lacked the finesse of wine, too much butter and no fesh herbs for sauce. Large portions, perhaps only appetizers next time.

One of Norwalk's best. I know when I go here I know that the food and drinks will be tasty, the service will be good, and the vibe will be right. This is a great spot for a special occasion or just having a good meal out. Salads are always very fresh and the pasta tastes homemade.

Finally got a chance to visit Osteria Romana. Should've waited a little longer because besides the ambiance, the food was mediocre as well as the service. The food was a bit on the bland side without proper flavoring. Might have just needed a bit more salt. The ambiance however was clean and unique. Tall ceilings and the decor felt like you were in a tree house. Pretty cool. They also have outdoor seating with a covering in case of rain. The service itself, I felt like we were being rushed through every dish. Wish some things weren't what it was because I would've loved to have loved the place just on decor alone.

I came here for lunch to meet with my bestie on the weekend. Plenty of parking available. We sat outside since it was a nice day. The ambiance is cute and pretty aesthetic inside and out. We started with drinks, she got an aperol spritz and I got the southern blood cocktail. They were good. For entrees, we got the risotto al tartufo nero, and they were tasty. For dessert, we got tiramisu with machiatos. We had so much fun here, and the servers were very nice.

This place is hidden but I am so glad we found it. Everything here was absolutely amazing. We came here after moving my son out east and he's been here a couple times since if that tells you anything. To start we ordered the Calamari Fritti and the Polpetine. Now I've been making meatballs for 40 years and these were memorable! For the main course, our table shared the Pappardelle alla Bolognese, Fettuccine alla Carbonara, Vitello al Fior di Latte, and the Linguine alle Vongole. Everything was perfect. That bolognese sauce drove me nuts and I've been trying to replicate it since. The place was beautiful and cozy and one of the best osterias I've been to. I can't wait to come back.

Cream brûlées that 5 people couldn't eat after first attempt!!!

Very normal environment. The food was good enough. We enjoyed of: - Meat and cheese platter. - salmon dish - chicken with mushrooms - great French white wine Although there are some other comments to make: - The plate where was our fried calamari big and there was so little calamari that it almost looked like someone ate from the plate and we got the leftovers. - Desert- créame brûlée was so sweet that it was impossible to eat it, we were 5 and no one could eat it after one try, so for that only 1 .

Osteria Romana offers delightful Italian cuisine . Inside its beautifully designed interior with an impressive display of wines, perfect for a relaxed meal. I stated with fresh bread with warm olive oil with roasted garlic - a simple yet incredibly satisfying start. Then crisp Caesar salad, perfectly dressed with a generous shaving of parmesan. Very very good. The pasta dish, a bolognese, in a rich red thick sauce along with the pasta cooked andante was perfect. Excellent. To round out the meal, the dessert, The apple tart ,was warm and flaky served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel, was a sweet ending along with the double expresso. Overall, Osteria Romana provides an excellent dining experience. The food is delicious and clearly prepared with care, the service is attentive, quick and respectful. Whether you're seeking a casual lunch or a special dinner, Osteria Romana delivers on all fronts, offering a taste of Italy. Highly recommend you give it a visit.

Norwalk has become a convenient location to meet our Connecticut friends - and Osteria Romana proved to be an excellent choice! The place seemed crowded when we visited for lunch on a Saturday afternoon in May but we were seated and attended to immediately. Wine was offered and ordered, a couple of appetizers appeared promptly and we proceeded to lunch. Well portioned and flavorful salads, well prepared and served chicken dishes and courteous and helpful staff. Very enjoyable visit - and we'll be back.

Came tonight with a party of 8. While the food was good, I will say it felt extremely cramped inside. The server wasn't very attentive (had to keep asking for things like water, bread, etc). One thing that particularly irked me was that we were sat at a long table and the acoustics were horrible. When she was taking our order, she stood at one end of the table and we all "shouted" our orders to her. Felt very uncomfortable. However, when she collected the menus, she would walk around the table, so why the need to yell our order in the first place? I could feel the woman sitting behind me at another table, as our chairs were touching and just really felt like everyone was packed in like sardines. Food was OK. Some food was spot on, some tasted bland (consensus of the group).

Good was good. Date night on a Tuesday. Place wasn't packed. Service was smooth. Felt like the waiter was rushing us to order but paid it no mind. Food came out good, drinks and shot was a perfect way to end the night. The music was nice and the atmosphere was very smooth. Loved the feeling. A must check out place if your ever in the area.

Nice local business, decent food and good service. The decor is a bit dated but I don't do for the wallpaper! Haven't had a bad dish yet!

"A birthday dinner that actually felt like one."…read more Sienna Ristorante gets the balance right in a way most places don't. The space immediately stands out with a clean, modern feel that still feels warm, not staged or overly polished. It sets the tone before the food even hits the table. The meal itself followed through. The complimentary bread with oil was simple but done right, soft with a good crust and a clean, flavorful dip. We shared the wild mushroom arancini, and that was the first real standout. Crispy on the outside, rich on the inside, and the sauce was the kind you keep going back to without thinking. It carried the dish. For mains, I went with the wild mushroom pizza, which came out with a well balanced crust and just enough weight from the toppings without feeling heavy. The mushrooms were the focus and they delivered. The honeynut squash ravioli leaned more delicate, slightly sweet, and felt more composed than expected in a good way. Drinks held their own too. The Old Fashioned was clean and steady, while the lychee martini added something lighter and more refreshing to the table. They close the meal with biscotti and limoncello, which already would have been enough, but we added the tiramisu and that was the right call. It rounded everything out without feeling excessive, just a clean finish to a well paced dinner. Service matched the tone of the restaurant, attentive without hovering, and the pacing of the meal felt natural from start to finish. This is the kind of place that feels intentional. Not just good food, but a full experience that actually holds together. Easy to come back to, especially for something worth celebrating.

I'm reviewing a place for the first time I've never actually stepped into. In hopes of finding good Italian food since I miss my Mom's. I kid you not, every time I call I am told they are 'closed for a private party', or they have been booked and can't get in and even on the private party days, no takeout and so I keep trying but never get an answer lately! Because I have given up on Italian food in Fairfield County and this place is my last hope. So if Mike's reads this, please tell me the best possible night to get into your restaurant? I am told your tiramisu is to die for. Well, I don't want to die, but I would like to try it before I do? Thanks.

No menus, just asked what we liked. He started us off with Burrata with roasted peppers and an arugula salad. Delicious! Then he opened a nice bottle of red and served us sautéed artichoke hearts, bread and olive oil, also fantastic. The whole time he was personable and friendly. As if this wasn't enough, he then served us fresh parpadelli in a wonderful sauce. He did it all. I watched as he left our table and went right to the stove. Back and forth, all evening. He did the same for others. For entrees he served us shrimp, chicken and veal. Enough of each for 4. Then we ended with gelato, port wine, limoncello and coffees. What a fantastic night. The place was well appointed and warm. This is a hidden gem and a must go to.
