He then scheduled to come out and meet with my parents and I to explain his company and see if this is something that would work for me. Normally we would probably interview at least a couple different agencies before deciding on one, But he left us with such a confident feeling that this is exactly what we want. The owner himself is very involved in every aspect of the company and has a relationship with the various workers so you are not just sent strangers to care for you. We began right away. I have had many experiences with different agencies, but this one has blown me away. The caregivers are never late, I have never had Her not show us up, cancel on me last minute, etc. They are really willing and able to do whatever it is that they can to help you. I never hear things like, the agency really doesn't allow us to do that, when it comes to things like cutting toenails, shaving legs or armpits, help me with my medication, etc. I use a Hoyer lift to transfer from my bed to my power chair, and doing thisyour with only one person can really be challenging but it hasn't been a problem. The owner of continues to stay in contact with us which makes us comfortable with everything. Another thing to point out, the owner knows the caregivers, So you don't have to worry about being sent out just some stranger off the street.

I worked here for 11 months and I can say the residents and a couple coworkers were the best part…read moreof the job, this place should honestly be shut down. I have called HR many times about numerous things, I would love to sit down with the OWNER and tell them all about all them. I was hired February 1st 2023. I was trained 3 days then thrown to the wolves, if I didn't know how to do things, and I asked, I was made to feel like a moron. Asking a question was dumb of course, or that's how management made me and others feel. DO you know how many times I came into work (6am to 2pm) at 5:55 a.m. to clock in and the establishment smelled like marijuana? In 11 months, honestly it was just about every single shift. I have reported and told management but what did they say "we don't do he say she say" or "we don't talk about people when they can't defend themselves". But they can smoke weed at work? Smoking weed at work impairs your judgement, maybe that's why the trash and laundry was never done so that's why 1st shift (my shift always had to do 3rd shifts' job) or when waking up residents and getting them dressed and ready for the day, they were soaking wet, soaked so bad it was up their backs to their neck, and so bad their bed was still wet 6 hours later after washing and sanitizing it. We would then of course was residents up with soap and water and leftover feces was coming off of them because people didn't clean them up properly. Some just didn't at all. Or other times some people were in bed ALL day long and coworkers wouldn't get them up because they were to busy on their phones, taking 4-5 breaks, going in the bathroom smoking their vapes or leaving the premises to get snacks, smoke weed or just because. Let's talk about our cook, leaving the "supposed to be" locked back kitchen and front locked kitchen doors (because of knives and it being memory care) wide open, or the cook also making little jokes about residents he hated and how he wanted to put arsenic in their food in front of residents and family members, or how he left his personal pocket knife that's about 6 inches long on the counter in the dining room and forgetting its their? All the while residents walking around. How many times we told the cook he forgot a person's plate that he was supposed to make and he said "here" and told us to give them 4 day old spaghetti that the corporate man told him to throw out but he didn't, he saved it. Or when we went to management with little things like people being soaked, trash not being taken out, we were blamed for not doing rounds but how can you do rounds with 3rd shift when you walk in and they are running to clock out. Or how about giving the med cart keys (the med cart that has locked medications, controlled substances) to a new (1 month new) RCA that hasn't even gone through the med tech video's or training because management is to lazy to come in on 3rd shift and pass meds? The same RCA that has been caught NUMEROUS times sleeping on the job by so many people, on the couch, in random rooms, including the show room. Now after he's been taking med cart keys, counting meds with med techs, medications have come up missing. Did he get fired? No. What about ALL of the other people on 3rd shift that sleep or nap? How about management not doing any activities with a single resident in Memory Care, your telling me the families and residents pay around $5500-$6500 a month for their rooms and they don't do a thing. Brookdale has an activities lady to do them but she sits on her butt in the office and goes to lunch for an hour?? How many times does management talk behind the RCA and Med Tech's backs? I have personally heard them and had some management TALK about people TO ME!! this is nothing but a bunch of high school drama. This place is supposed to be here for nothing but the sole purpose of taking care of elderly residents. NOT this ridiculous crap. I wouldn't recommend working here ever. Unless they are under TOTAL new management! ALL new management!! Do your research. Think about putting your loved ones here.

As their name suggests, they are a group of physicians who make house calls and it is wonderful, especially when you are really sick. I have a terrible immune system, so the very last thing I want to do every month when I need to see my family doctor is go to my family doctor's office and expose myself to every single germ in their office, especially during flu season. My family doctor comes to my house where I don't need to think about extra germs. Recently I was really sick and needed extra care, including chest x-rays and everything I needed came to me. VPA made it happen. I had a chest x-ray while sitting on my sofa in my living room. With my old family physician, I would have needed to bundle up, have my husband take time off work, go to the hospital and expose myself to more germs while taking time away from resting. VPA is not the doctor for everyone, obviously, but for those special patients who do need that extra care, there is nothing like seeing that little white car pull up in your driveway.
