Pasta Avanti is our go to pasta pick-up dinner place. Good and quick. We order and pick- up at the window.

This definitely is wanna-be Italian restaurant. They only had one server and It took 10 minutes to get our teas and almost 25 minutes to get our food. The place was almost to capacity but still a couple of tables available. The food was mediocre, the sauce reminded me of canned Chef Boyardee and forget about asking for a second basket of bread, it never came...we ordered 1/2 orders of chicken Parm and spaghetti with sausage....the sausage was spicy, not mentioned in menu! I had a combo plate. Half chicken parmigian, half baked spaghetti. But chicken parmesan usually comes with spaghetti anyway so it's really just kind of an upgraded half order of chicken parmesan. As another alert Yelp reviewer pointed out, if you get a "specialty" dish then you also get a salad. I might return and try the chicken marsala for that. In the case of my combo, you just get on the side an order of bread, four tiny little pieces, and not all that garlicky, and they actually charge you quite a bit if you want to refill on the bread. No olive oil on the table. Portion sizes were small and it came on a rectangular plate that looked like something that came out of a frozen dinner that you would normally put in the oven. Food was average. No concept of al dente. Not much in the way of Italian options in El Paso in this area so it's okay for when you have the craving. read more

It was recommended and like to support local owners went for dinner got appetizers and bottle of wine ordered full meals and requested mushrooms on our side spaghettis chef came out and went crazy yelled said we either picked marinara or meat sauce he could not possibly waste time chopping garlic or mushrooms for the three of us to have on our side spaghetti if he was going to do that we needed to order full orders of spaghetti we told him we did not mind to pay extra he said this was not possible rudely we ordered expensive meals and we support many local restaurants have never been treated so poorly the server she was amazing the chef obviously did not want our business we paid and left did not need after a long day at work that treatment won't recommend or go back very sad read more

Our new favorite Italian place! Amazing customer service and food. Spaghetti Artichoke Hearts was incredible. The place was clean and cozy.

Homemade spumoni Ice cream in El Paso would be the main reason to visit this place. Atmosphere is calm and quiet with splashes of Italy decor. Wine glass candles with the traditional basket cover on bottom with wax overlay. I had the combo eggplant and chicken parmigiana it was plenty to share. My only wish was that it had a side of spaghetti. My waiter should have up sold me on it. Husband had the tower an olive oil pasta toss that was yummy. And I would recommend his over mine Next time sticking with the specialties since it comes with side salad and side of spaghetti. read more

Horrible server The owner had to get up and ask what was the problem Probably because its 30 min to closing on a Friday night If someone is allergic to red sauce and requested for Alfredo which they sell . The server said we cannot do that. Obviously they are more concern about the inconvenient it would cause the cook than the customer and our business ! read more

After searching for a great Italian restaurant similar to the likes of the previous Sorrento restaurant, Pasta Avanti has easily become my family's new favorite. The food is delicious, the servers were prompt and attentive, and the environment is cozy and friendly! We will be returning soon! read more

Avoid this place if your in the mood for good Italian food. I ordered the chicken Alfredo and sauce was stale nasty ! Nasty ! Nasty ! Think of the cheapest Alfredo sauce you can buy at Walmart with the cheapest pasta and cook it without flavor or salt then let it sit a week on your kitchen table before you eat it. walked in sunday 50 minutes before closing, 6:10 p.m. was told the kitchen was closed because no customers were coming in. there were several tables with diners and they were still waiting for their food.great way to stay in business as they are only open a few hours daily.good luck read more

The food was good. Sauce was savory and the pasta cooked properly. Raviolis were excellent as was the service. The only glitch was the Tiramasu. It was frozen solid. Even with that, it's worth coming back. read more

The customer service was pretty bad. I started off with no silver ware and my server took forever to bring us any napkins. Then he only brought me two brown paper towel. The calamari have no flavor and it taste rubbery. My pasta was watery and the chicken had no flavor. I don't recommend this place To any one who want to eat pasta. read more

So my stars are pass/fail on 5 issues. Not necessarily in this order. Wait time * Atmosphere Service * Food * Recommended * We were immediately greeted and offered a table or booth. * The atmosphere made me comfortable and relaxed. There was a moderate noise level, but it was natural and allowed for good conversation at our table. We could have stayed until they kicked us out, but the seats are too uncomfortable. I know there is a need to have the tables serve multiple parties each meal but this was tough to get past. Service was spot on. No interruptions and never had to look around if we had a need. * The meals were fantastic. Fresh, generous portions and I ate more than I should have. * Definitely recommended. * read more

This is one great Italian restaurant. Virtually everything on the menu is unbeatable, even the salad is terrific. I had the eggplant Parmesan which was outstanding, but we also had the chicken piccata and The chicken marsala - unforgettable. To top it off, the homemade spumoni was delicious. You've got to take your hat off to a restaurant this good hidden away in a strip shopping center in West El Paso. Bravo read more

Italian in El Paso. Pasta Avanti like so many of the smaller restaurants here resides in a strip mall it's at the back corner of the mall. Inside they have done nice job of reproduction of the quintessential stereotypical Italian eateries. Service is fast with a smile . Came for dinner and ordered the spaghetti with meatballs and meat sauce. I like you can choose marinara or meat sauce. I'm a meat head. I consider spaghetti the plankton of the Italian sea. Other customers seem to be locals and upper aged at least tonight. To me that's a good sign. Elders are not given enough credit! Food came and piping hot so carful. Noodles were cooked well and meatballs were very tender. Nice size portion of tasty goodness! if I had to pick on them just a bit I think the garlic and basil could use a boost in the sauce and meatballs. Dont take me wrong it was delicious. They passed the "sniff test" on the basic. Look forward to returning and trying some of their more complex dishes. Great Italian restaurant with wonderful staff and family friendly crowd. This has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I ordered through Uber eats. When the driver arrived they told him they did not have any shrimp for 2 of my 4 orders. But they could also not substitute for another protein. Mario, the chef in the back does not do substitutions, but they don't have the menu item I ordered. I asked what they suggested, they didn't know. I then asked if they could do my shrimp with Pasta, without the shrimp and do a calamari on the side. No, couldn't do that either. Then I heard Mario yelling at my Uber driver as I was on the phone with him. I would have cancelled if it wasn't for my amazing driver who did everything to get my order at least somewhat completed. I received a sloppy chicken parmigiana and a salad. Both unremarkable. He received a big tip for dealing with such unprofessional, rude, and angry people. And I am one to be very forgiving, especially during these difficult times. I support local. But I am just horrified they are actually in business. DON'T GO HERE!! After following Mario or more like his mother from Bella Napoli. We started coming here, all of a Sudden "Mario" is pretending to speak in Italian?! He far from it (Juarez) As our check is always over at least $200 every time we come here. This last time we asked for 2 empty plates so that my small children could share a portion of food, he said there will be an additional charge of $5. (For sharing ) It's bad enough the portions are smaller and the quality by far is gone, he now has the nerve to try to speak in Italian accent and price gouge!!! Brief: Ridiculous wait time for mediocre Italian food. One must be patient if they want this "unique experience". The staff will acknowledge your existence after you wait by the entrance for 15min. Extraordinarily long time to be seated - 35min (only 2 other people waiting) Extraordinarily long time to be waited on - 30min Stupidly long time to get food. (30min) Oh, and the complimentary Italian bread comes out with the meal only..which you'll get 30min after you earn the privilege to order. Cherry on top: our waitress was not accommodating in the least, was borderline rude and not apologetic for our lack of service. The food was Fazoli's quality. Do yourself a solid and go to Johnny Carino's 5min up the road. Better yet, make the trek to Macaroni Grill. I have to admit that i like Past Avanti, even though I don't live in El Paso's Upper Valley. Go to Pasta Avanti on any weekend evening and the place is full of people who live west of Doniphan Drive. I'm not sure what makes Pasta Avanti appealing--it's old school all the way, nothing inventive, nothing spectacular. But their old recipes are churned out fairly consistently even if they were Bella Napoli's former recipes (prepared by Bella Napoli's former cook?). The pizza is my favorite, but the other dishes are A-OK, too. Too bad they don't allow you to bring your own wine. That would be worth an additional star! read more

Stopped in El Paso for the night and this was recommended by some locals. It was great! We had the spaghetti, chicken parm and they even made a special accommodations for one member of our party and made a new twist on chicken parm so she could enjoy as well. We've been to this establishment several times and even though the food is decent and close by, the service was always impeccable. Tonight was a different experience. Aside from being up charged for silly things like split plates and so on...the owner was waiting on us due to lack of servers. You would think this would insure good customer service. The incident that just threw me over the edge was when my husband ( that just so happens to be a executive chef at a local high end restaurant) ordered an item them apparently wasn't available. The way we found this out is the owner came back to the table, literally tossed the menu at the table and yelled out "no steak". Seriously?!?! So after a $100 bill between three adults and a split plate it's safe to say we will NEVER go back or suggest this establishment.
