The food was amazing, my sis and i stopped by for a little dinner date and ordered the Italian Specialties (might be a diff name) and a classic 12in Pepperoni pizza. I must say the Italian gave me a bite of everything needed Lasagna, Spaghetti, meatball, and a ravioli. the only weird thing is that the ravioli tasted like Vienna sausage meat but the meatball meat and the lasagna was perfect and tasted good. When we first go there, the staff was very friendly and quick. We started off wish a fried calamari and a delicious green chile potato cream soup. Absolutely amazing. For the main course I ordered the chicken parmigiana and build your own pasta. The chicken was lightly breaded and very juicy. The build your own pasta Green chile Alfredo sauce was delicious. We were very pleasantly surprised with our dinner at The Italian Kitchen. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is tucked away on a side street with a small patio and a quaint little dining space and when we arrived we had almost no wait.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our meal started off with buttery, toasted bread and salads. I had the antipasti salad and it was good but it was an extra $4 (I'd stick with the house or caesar included), but the Italian dressing was made in house which was nice. All the food was yummy! The sauce on the scallopini said "spicy" but it wasn't - it was very good though! The sampler was a good choice too, although the lasagna was the least favorite. The pizza was great! We were very happy with the entree size, we all had leftovers. The restaurant was busy so the service was a little slow but the staff were all very friendly and happy. So yes I am a good Italian home cook, but sometimes I don't have the time to chop, grate, shred, simmer and bake to get great taste. Tonight I ordered delivery from The Italian Kitchen West. I have enough food for about four more meals! What I was impressed with is that they must have read my mind and that I was going to divy it up between several meals so they gave me enough toasted and buttered Italian bread to go with the soup, the lasagna for two meals, the salad and the calamari! Usually when we come here to eat the food is delicious & the service is good. Tonight my plate arrived and it was cold. The waitress never came back to check on us once. I had to ask for a box to take the food home and heat it up. My daughter's plate was like warm as well. The Italian kitchen west was a nice surprise. Considering the reviews leave this place at 3 stars I didn't have high expectations but wow. This place deserves 10/5 stars. First off, I didn't get to meet the owner but the owner feeds stray cats that hang around the restaurant. Everyone would pet them before entering the restaurant and after leaving. The owner has feral cat shelters with boxes and hay to keep them warm. So thoughtful and sweet! Then I visited the lady's restroom and my husband the men's restroom. There is a changing table at both! Wow so happy for that. Fathers are parents too and I appreciated having a changing table in both restrooms. Now let's talk about the food. They first brought me some bread, the buttery smell was irresistible, and the taste delicious. 10/10 We also ordered pesto chicken pizza, that was also incredible, the chicken was amazing and the pizza also a 10/10 For dessert we had Spumoni, the dessert did not disappoint and the pieces of chocolate and cherry were fantastic. Yuck frozen food warm up We had eggplant parm so yum!! Note this restaurant takes a while since it is made fresh be prepared. Recommend: Date night: Outdoors bottle of wine Get an appetizer and a salad and dessert. This will be sure to impress any 3rd date prospect. Honestly, a frozen pizza from Walmart tastes better than the pizza from here. It tasted like it was undercooked. It was a cold mess! The so-called spumoni was also a disgrace. It tasted old and definitely not fresh. It had some freezer burn on top of it. I ate what I could because it was $7! No lie, the nursing home where I work has the best spumoni in town. No way could this one compete with that one. I've heard that the nursing home spumoni is flown in from the east coast. I'll consider giving them another chance but probably not anytime soon. West side El Pasoans or anyone traveling through for a nice sit down meal, I highly recommend this amazing little restaurant for delicious Italian food. We ate on the little patio area about 9PM so it was nice and fresh on a peaceful night. We ordered calamari which tasted so fresh with an amazing tomato sauce, and our meals came with a choice of soup or salad. The cedar salad was so crisp and fresh. Our main plate (chicken green chile Alfredo and chicken rosemary) sizes were so big and filling with the most delicious flavors.
