Staying here for 90 Days at the RV site. The property is so beautiful. I never seen this part of FL specially I've seen mostly at the beach area not too much of inland. I love there's a restaurant on site. The Villages is great but so busy. So just a very relaxing place to come down here and eat. You have to check the Schedule it's different by season. Anyways our service / bartender is amazing she so nice and friendly. Beautiful view outdoor. The food is amazing the prime rib and Rib-eye was cooked great. There will be plenty of time for me try other things on the menu. Overall a 5 star for me. read more

My wife and I had dinner at the Bistro restaurant, she had Salmon and I had a New York Strip Steak. The food was a tad cold although tasty just the same. Not sure I would go out of my way to return but I might. The service was perfect however. read more

First of all the owner took time to see that we were completely pleased with our experience at the Bistro. We were a large group of forty and they handled it with ease. I had the pork ribeye and it was delicious. My wife had the cob salad and friends at our table had the chicken parmigiana. Everyone was pleased with their selection. read more

Had dinner at the Bistro last night. Ordered their swordfish at $27.00. Was really looking forward to a nice dinner with friends. I was sorely disappointed. It was so salty, it was hardly edible. I was hungry and managed to eat half of the serving. I did inform the waitress to give the chef heads up that it was way too salty. She assured me she would relay the message. There was no offer to replace the fish and the waitress was apologetic. I probably would not return to this establishment. read more

It's only worth it to go during murder mystery night. Servers were wonderful. But you're paying for the atmosphere and location here not the food. The food itself is a bit better than a typical chain besides piesanos. But the cost isn't even close to worth it. If you know your surroundings area there's much better options. Our Wednesday lunch was very nearly a 5* experience. If you tried them in past years and were disappointed, give it another go! Lots of changes have been made. Hubby and I sat on the patio, viewing the lush greenery, shimmering ponds, and Spanish moss cloaked majestic oaks from comfortable shade. The Romanesque columns, arches and planters add to the beautiful surrounds. Hits: Our server was polite, attentive, and personable. Iced tea was refreshing and a frosty mug to keep my Stella Lager cool was super nice. BLT Croissant was great: croissant was huge and flaky; lettuce was crisp; tomato was juicy; bacon was not too greasy or chewy. The lunch portion of fettuccini alfredo is quite generous, super creamy with great cheese flavors and freshly ground pepper. Pasta was perfectly al dente. Scotch and Gin pours were accurate, not skimpy. Bourbon Pecan pie was fantastic: crumbly crust, velvety filling topped with whole, tender pecans alongside fresh whipped cream--and yes, I make whipped cream at home from scratch so I can always tell the difference between fresh and bottled. We shared it and I only got 3 bites before it vanished lol. Areas for Improvement: Navy bean and ham soup was a touch salty, and I'm not sensitive to sodium. However the beans not being mushy let me know it was fresh, so not a total miss. Hubby asked if they had Rye and was told they did, Bulleit brand. He asked a second time: the rye, not the bourbon? Again, he was told yes. When it arrived, it was in fact bourbon *but* our server apologized, removed it, and quickly replaced it with his next selection *and* it was removed from our bill. That's classy. My fettuccini was mixed with broccoli, which wasn't on the menu description. Had I known it was a part of the dish, I'd have ordered something else. It was well executed, it's just not my preference. Hubby remarked it was strange for a BLT to be served without mayo and said the first half was good but when he got down to those last few bites, it was a bit dry. A year or two ago, we'd had back-to-back sad experiences here: grumpy servers and sub-par food, but obviously they've turned it around and I heartily recommend giving it a chance. read more

I was quite underwhelmed with my prime rib "special" tonight. No flavor at all. Pure horseradish had no bite to help it. Mashed potatoes had good flavor but serving temp was lukewarm. Other couple at our table felt the same way about their prime rib. Server was pleasant, speed of meal arrival was good. They did allow a sub of salad for veggie of day. I was charged $3.29 for club soda. Server kept refilling it with water. They did take that charge off the check. Chocolate cake was very good though I'm certain it wasn't made in house. Stick with the simple stuff. If it isn't exactly the best, you weren't out as much $$. read more

It was my Dad's birthday and of all the places in the surrounding area, he insisted on The Bistro. And when you're turning 88 years old, you get what you want! This place was a joke, we walked in with one couple ahead of us, they took the couple and the rude lady came and told us to GET OUT we were letting the air out. We absolutely were not holding the door open, several others wanted to eat also and when she came out to address us she was the nastiest person I have encountered in years! She said they did not have room for all of us and it was RESERVATIONS ONLY everyone else needed to leave immediately. When looking them up I do not see that they accept reservations only anywhere. There is a way to talk to people and she needs to learn how. She was so rude to everyone they all walked away talking about how they'd never come back. If the person is the owner this place won't last long and if she isn't she needs some serious training in how to deal with the public because she certainly had no clue. Staff was very friendly and prompt. Food was just ok. Onion soup didn't have much cheese and there were pieces of onion in it that were hard like maybe the skin of the onions. The triple decker had burnt toast. The burger was just ok. Needed lots of mayo to add flavor. Nice place but food could use some work. read more

We got dinner to go for 7 people. Paid $200 with 1 alcoholic beverage. The best thing was the sangria and the bartender was nice. But that's about where it ended. The pasta was bland, the chicken lacked flavor as well. The bacon was extremely burnt and we were not able to eat it. My mom had asked for mashed potatoes instead of a baked potato - there was an up charge which we were fine with. And we never got mashed potatoes -_-. The shrimp pasta was lacking seasoning as well and it was overall really disappointing. I'll order dominos next time and have it delivered to our RV vs dropping $200 for bland food. read more

Used to be a decent place as we have been here a couple of times before. Not anymore, we were sat then didn't see anybody for half an hour, had to grab the lady a couple of times before she finally took our order. About a quarter of menu is out of stock. The only thing nice about the place is the atmosphere and the liquor, as the food wasn't worth the price. I'd recommend leaving the Equestrain grounds and going close to Villages for lunch or dinner instead of here. read more

It was a waitress named Robbie who started off on the wrong foot. After taking our drink orders & then the drinks never came; had to go up to the bar & ask where our drinks are. Turns out they had to go get more Tito's. One drink was vodka on the rocks & the other was a dirty martini. Finally the drinks arrive & the vodka on the rocks was watered down from sitting at the bar to long. The martini came with ice in a plain glass, not in a martini glass as well as watered down. Back to the bar I go & a nice young man (Dale) I think made me a dirty martini the right way & in a martini glass with 4 olives. Now it's time to talk about dinner. Our salads, nothing fancy, cold cherry tomatoes but the salad dressing was good. Our appetizer came out after the salads & almost immediately came our meals. The waitress was less than attentive throughout the meal until the very end. Dale was awesome 5* service. Diner 1 had salmon, good thickness but not over the top good. had asked to substitute asparagus with broccoli, she said she can't do it. "Waitress you have broccoli on the menu" her reply "can't substitute" She had no choice other than to have coleslawwwS. Diner 2 had salmon; this time the piece was from the end & 1/2 of it was less that 1/2" thick. Good news the asparagus was cooked perfectly. Diners 3&4 had identical plates of Marsala. 1/2 of a flavorless breast with a mild Marsala sauce. I asked for extra mushroom , no such luck- it almost seems like they counted the sliced mushrooms for the dish. I have never been this disappointed for a long time. My idea is to promote good /great restaurants. Sorry for my negative review. I will be back to explore the museum. read more

We had a 5:00 reservation for 4 people. Our first time and found the room warm, friendly, with a very good waitress. It was a Friday night and a fish fry was the special, 15.95 with a very big piece of fish. I had salmon with rice, veggies and a cup of outstanding clam chowder, $18.95. The grounds are beautiful. The dining area is warm and inviting. The service is fast and efficient. Our waitress Margo was a delight. She told us about weekend entertainment and the horse show events. Well, we gave it another try and it was no better, probably worse. The most important thing to know about this place is that they have a very difficult time delivering the food while it is hot, or even cooking it to temperature. So many things could be better: You could see the slices of cheese in the grilled cheese - 3 unmelted slices; crab rangoons at room temperature; warm at best hamburger. The soup was hot. We even ordered the fries extra crispy to try to get them delivered hot. Somehow they were crisply, but not hot. The crab rangoons were ok tasting but small and spread out on the plate to look bigger. Turns out there were only 6 or 8 for an $8 plate. Ridiculous. Service was adequate at best. We had empty glasses and often and empty plates sat around for a long time. The table next to us just covered their food with a napkin, paid and left. Nobody asked why plates were being returned full. A very ordinary, underheated lunch for 3 was $50. Probably you'll be okay if you order drinks and cold food. The museum is closed. read more

This is a place that I like very much on a Saturday night. Joe Hand (only plays on Sat night) is a true musician that plays the guitar and has great dance music. The food is excellent since the new kitchen has opened and they have a great chef. They have renovated the Bistro and have made it very attractive. It is probably the best kept secret in The Villages, since it is only 2 1/2 miles outside of The Villages. I like the fact that the residents of T.V. do not think outside of the bubble and enjoy the great places the area has to offer. The atmosphere of The Grand Oaks is hard to beat. read more

Very nice, clean place! Stopped in for bite as I was staying on site. Everyone has been bend over nice but there's that one employee who just ruined it...well they have her in bristro. Kinda superior attitude when talking to you. Basically reprimanded another employee on the dining room floor within ear shot of guests. Went for the Fish dinner on Friday night with my mother. Georgie was our waitress and she really took care of us. I got to substitute fries for another cole slaw and she brought our drinks and food very fast. The portion of fried haddock was enormous and so big my mother took some home. Delicious coating on the fish and it was fried perfectly. Fries and cole slaw were good as was the two piece band playing too. Will definitely go back and try some other dishes. read more
