We ordered the Chicken Parmigiana and Chicken Romano with wedding soups instead of salads and sides of angel hair pasta. We also ordered the spaghetti with hot sausage. All meals came with Italian bread and butter. Servings are very large and could feed two people with small/regular appetites. The Chicken Parmigiana and the spaghetti with hot sausage were very good with flavorful red sauce. The Chicken Romano was bland. It should have had lemon taste. Pasta Too occupies a nice space between Olive Garden and Arrlechino's & Alla Famiglia in both price and quality. In terms of the food, you get BIG portions here. I've had the chicken parmigiana and the lasagna. Both were very good. The chicken parmigiana wasn't pounded completely flat, but it was nearly the size of the plate. I would have preferred more cheese, but there was plenty of sauce. The lasagna was stacked at least 3-5 inches high and covered in sauce. I upgraded to the fettuccini alfredo was my side dish both times as it's my favorite pasta. The second time it was a little too creamy (too much sauce), but the noodles were well cooked. The bread service is just basic Italian bread, but you get unlimited refills. The service was excellent both times. There is a mom-and-pop feel to the level of attention you receive. Our drinks were kept full, and the wait staff boxed up any leftovers. In terms of price, expect to pay $15-$25 for an entrée. I think that it is very reasonable and honestly cheaper than Olive Garden. Being able to take a family of four here for under $100 is hard to find in 2025. My family probably comes here a couple times a month; it's an excellent neighborhood standby for good Italian food at absolutely enormous portions. They do even the small things very well. For example, the bread is fresh baked, warm and soft when it gets to your table, and it arrives with a sundried tomato dip that is out of this world. They used to sell this in bottles but I haven't seen it available at the front of the shop recently. My family thinks their wedding soup is some of the best in the city, and their tossed salad is elevated with the addition of unexpected ingredients such as celery and peppers. Get the homemade Italian dressing. My only complaint here is that as a vegetarian, I have virtually no sauce options to choose from because they all start with some kind of meat base. Tomato sauce, vodka sauce, Alfredo sauce, everything is a no-go. Even the pizza sauce has this issue. Fortunately, my favorite thing here is the pillowy cheese ravioli and they will make it special with a garlic butter sauce that works for me. I know their sauces here are well-loved, enough so that they are stocked on the shelves at local grocers, but that makes me all the more confident that they could introduce a killer marinara and be more inclusive. How about it, Pasta Too? The menu is extensive, servers are efficient and knowledgeable, and there is a good sized dining area to move customers through when there is a wait. Although you will have a wait here weekend evenings, it usually isn't that long and they are very good at keeping things moving. Again and again my favorite restaurant in all of pittsburgh! Been going since I was a small kid and it's always the same - consistently amazing. Chicken parm is my favorite dish , I always get it with a side of ziti and a salad with home made blue cheese dressing. We tried the stuffed banana peppers for an app tonight and they were stellar! Pasta too is a nice place. It is nicer than a big chain restaurant, but I certainly wouldn't call it a high end fine dining restaurant either. In many years past I thought the food was very good and ate here maybe 3 times a year as it is not local to my home about 40 minutes drive depending traffic. The most recent time the food was so/so. The bread was great, but the dipping oil has changed or something was left out. One of us got zucchini planks and they were above average compared to many other places. The wedding soup was ok, i wouldn't call it good. Way too much chicken, not enough meatballs or acini di pepe, broth was a little bland. I had the veal parm sandwich and it wasn't great, it didn't have much flavor, nor did the marinara, it did taste like it had been frozen, and it was so wet (not moist or juicy) that the roll it was on turned to mush as i ate it. I threw half away. One of us got endless spaghetti, he wasn't thrilled and said he wouldn't be back as he lives over an hour away. The other person got zucchini Parmesan and said it was actually really good. The service was good in the past, and our recent waitress was great. This was my second time here and for some unknown reason I forgot pictures both times. I came for lunch both times and this place is busy!! The restaurant is somewhat small and the tables are packed together tightly. It's very difficult to have a conversation because it is very loud. Our server was friendly and efficient. First time I had the lasagna, and today I had the baked penne. The lasagna portion was huge and very good. The baked penne was excellent. This is one of our favorite local places for delicious Italian food! All of their pasta dishes are delicious, but they also have other options like pizza and subs. Last time I was there, I got the meatball casserole which came with three large meatballs, fettuccini pasta, marina sauce, and lots of cheese. I would definitely recommend! The servings are pretty large and definitely shareable - for example, the chicken parm came with two huge pieces of chicken and a large "side" of a pasta of your choice. A couple things to note: at least of of now, they are serving beer and wine, but not cocktails. Also, it's not huge inside and gets crowded fast, especially on weekends (currently, they open at 4 on Saturday and are takeout only on Sunday). They also don't take reservations. So, I'd recommend coming early if you come on Saturday. read more

Getting into the parking lot is challenging coming from 88N, no left turns to get into the parking lot. ‍ We were seated fast for arriving at 5pm. The service was excellent. Glasses of water filled and appetizer, side salads, and entrees were timed correctly. My son wanted the stuffed bread stick. I was not a fan, but the Marinara was excellent. I got the stuffed scrimp with a Cesar side salad and fettuccine Alfredo side. Both the scrimp and fettuccine needed a touch of spice, whether it be garlic or salt/pepper. I want to start by saying that the food here is delicious; the portions are generous and our family has never had a bad meal here. Unfortunately, our last visit left a very negative impression that's left me reconsidering patronizing Pasta Too ever again. Three of us arrived at 7:50 PM. My ten year old chose the restaurant as she had just had a recital and we wanted to celebrate her. We explained to the hostess that five of us would be dining. She requested that we wait until our full party arrived to be seated, but assured us there were plenty of tables free. No problem! We wait five minutes until the five of us are assembled. After waiting in the lobby for five more minutes, the hostess approaches again and lets me know that she's getting a table cleaned for us. At this point, I start to notice the staff gathering on the line, and speaking animatedly, taking turns glaring at us. She approaches again and lets me know she's having trouble because the servers are complaining about getting a table. All told, we waited more than fifteen minutes while several different staff members stared us down and talked about us. It was very uncomfortable. Finally she comes back and says our table is ready and that she just needed to argue with the servers for a bit. I asked her if she just wanted us to leave at that point because it had been made very clear that we weren't wanted. She tried her best to put me at ease, but I felt extremely awkward and uncomfortable. When Tina finally approached us, she provided great service. She's waited on us before and been lovely every time. I want to make clear that Tina is probably the only saving grace in these staff interactions. Before our food arrived, a young girl tried to take our Parmesan or salt and peppers off the table. She actually came twice during our meal to do this. I totally get that the restaurant closes at 9. I've been a server and bartender for 14 years, I know the feeling of wanting to get your work done and leave after a grueling 12 hour shift in a huge, high volume restaurant but I have never made my guests feel that unwanted and uncomfortable.
