    Tequeños

Somehow we managed to get a Venezuelan fast food spot in an area that was desperate for options. The picture does not do the food justice because the portions are H U G E. For beverages we opted for Frescolita (which if you've had 'La Colombiana' it's the same flavor just a little bubblier. For starters we ordered tequeños which is the Venezuelan version of cheese sticks. They were tasty for $2 a pop! I ordered a carne asada arepa and did not even finish half. It is absolutely stuffed with meat and has a magnificent layer of fried cheese. My husband ordered the tumbarrancho and was able to finish it (it was slightly smaller than the arepa but completely jam packed). The man at the counter was super friendly and helpful. All in all we would absolutely go back! PS there's a little frozen area with some Venezuelan/ Colombian items and you can buy the dough to make your own arepas too!

We live relatively close and were so excited to see a Venezuelan place pop up. I had never been to their other locations. We have tried this restaurant twice now, and I am on the fence about my rating: 1) My first experience was eating in the restaurant, where we tried several different empanadas and Pastelitos as well as Tumbarranchos. I really enjoyed the chicken empanada and the chicken Tumbarrancho. Their house white sauce is really delicious. For this visit, I'd give them 4 stars. 2) Because we really enjoyed the food, we decided to do a large takeout order a week or so after our first visit, for a group of about 10 people we were having over. This experience was not quite as great. I went inside the restaurant around 11 AM and ordered/paid for approximately $120 worth of food that I wanted to pick up around 4:30 PM. They took my order and I paid. I called back around 3:30pm just to re-confirm the pick up time and they stated they did not have my order. After a couple of minutes they said they found it and they seemed annoyed with me calling. They could have been nicer during this interaction. My husband picked up the food around 4:30 PM and they tried to explain that they were out of a few things, so they made some substitutions. Not a big deal. Unfortunately, they did not label any of the containers. So I had a group of 10 people at my house and no one knew what was inside any of the empanadas or pastelitos without cutting into them, and/or trying them and guessing. It was really frustrating. They should've labeled all of the containers with what was inside of them. Also, there was not enough white sauce for the amount of food I ordered. For this experience, I would give them two stars. Overall, I will give a three star rating as an average of my two experiences. Please, for to-go orders, please label what's inside of the containers. Not just for convenience, but some people don't eat certain things due to allergies, or even for religious reasons. Overall, I would go back and I would recommend the chicken empanadas (empanadas pollo mechado), but I am really not a fan of the other empanada or pastelito flavors, nor did I enjoy the papitas. The potato/cheese and other flavors are very one-note and there's just a lot of breading. I definitely recommend the tumbarrancho.

Fantastic! I showed up not knowing a single thing about this place. The food is amazing. Both the pastelitos and empanadas are $2 each and honestly you get more than you pay for. I got 3 different kinds and they were all amazing. The chicken one was my favorite. Totally worth it and I will definitely be coming back. Mcdonalds burger is $3 and not nearly as filling. Just a great place. Amazing!

The service is great. However, today's mini mandocas were burned and many pastelitos were broken. Also, I don't like they are given the food in styrofoam containers. Mandocas were so hot that they melted the plastic. I loved when they gave them in carton boxes.

The food is good, but the older guy that is the owner's dad is very rude. He shouldn't be working the counter. We will not be back.

After asking 3 times where my order was and after 40 minutes waiting, finally they said my order was ready right after they retrieved the bag from another customer because yes! They gave my order to another lady, not to mention that my empanada was not included. Bad service!

The service continues to get worse, capped off by the last visit where I waited over an hour for Pollo Caracas, with virtually no one in the restaurant. I kept getting angrier by the minute. I kept being told 5 more minutes, on 5 different occasions. Finally, the owner ( came to the front, half-heartedly apologised, and cooked my food) The food has never been great, only convenient. I will never mess with this place again.

However, disappointing that at the end when paying by card, they did not allow us to see an itemized receipt, and the bill was higher than expected. After reading more reviews about this place, seems like this is common occurence unfortunately. Also, they INCLUDED TIP, which was not super apparent, and our party was less than 6 so unsure why a tip was included initially. Otherwise, the food was good and filling. The strawberry smoothie was not the best though, so would not get that again. the sweet plantains were great though. Although the food was good, I would not return because of the deceiving way that add a tip and do not allow customers to see itemized receipts.
